I’m so glad you said that I’m actually 26 years old played it with my older cousin at 7 because he bought SH4 and let me play it ( he obviously helped me because I’m a child) then replayed again at my teens to fully appreciate it, then AGAIN as a adult to see things I may have missed, i annually play this once year because I truly love this game I showed this game nothing but respect the 20+ years it’s been out to further prove my point I just did a play through of this game and all I talked about how I love this game growing up; you see sir YOUR’RE the person I’m making fun of in the video respectfully piss off and miss me with that bullshit lmao
And lastly if the “zoomer” take is “ hey give it chance first” then I’ll gladly take it with pride.
Coming out the gate with a "zoomer take" just shows you have no argument, your not even saying anything but just forming Chuds buzzwords in a sentence and calling it a statement. I'm 36 and have played this game since I was 15 and I think the remake looks incredible. GTFO outta here with this "modern hijacking" bullshit. Bro im 33 years old and Im very excited for the remake and Im tired of all the grumpy ass people saying its bad before the game even launches. Im playing thru silent hill 2 rn and Im still fucking excited about the remake. Ive been a fan since the 90's so maybe its just your sour opinion.
How old does one have to be to be a zoomer? I'm 41. Grew up with Atari, Spectrum, Commodore and more. Played all of the games in the years that they were released. I think this guy is making a very valid point. And what exactly do you mean by "our art"? You didn't make the game, so it's not your art.

t's not that people want to "objectify a victim," they just prefer Angela not to look unattractive. However, it seems some are misinterpreting this preference.

The ps2 in game version was ugly, her cgi one that people point at in comparison to the remake looks good.
The remakes Angela looks good outside of the graveyard, in the graveyard the lighting is way off blowing out alot of definition in her in game models face. The graveyard is suppose to be gray and moody but she looks like shes getting full frontal blasted with a ring light. Idk if it was a early build but the lighting and shadows in the graveyard are completely off. The models face looks fine in other shots, a lighting tweak will do wonders.
Her brows need micro-blading tho, they need to send her to the brow technician before October.
@@aidensnow5017 Its not whether she looks "unattractive" its the fact that her model looks worst from what it looked like 20 years ago. Angela's in-game model had more detailing within her model that actually complimented her character in the original game in 2001. Not to mention the worst voice acting on her, but that's a general complaint for most of the cast, especially James' new voice. Also its most likely not an early built, is the final they're showing off. Most development studios and gaming publishers don't like showing off prototype builds in the marketing because that's just embarrassing, if you have triple A game and its releasing in stores later in the same year, you're gonna show off finished builds.
She looked better in the original but I like her new look. She actually looks her age which is 19. In the original she looks way older then that, like in her 30s. Just imagine that would be Angela when she was 19 and I think her voice acting is good too. The remake looks really good and promising and I can't wait to play it.
The graveyard scene is just not creepy out of place but out of place like its a unity engine rendered angela.

From what I’ve seen over the years (and my own personal preference lmao) the main women people simp over where Cybil (the cop), Maria, the nurses, and sometimes the girl in silent hill 4, but that’s it NEVER ANGELA lmao

They don't need to be attractive. They need to adhere to the original art and not take liberties for some bullshit reason like a "modern audience" requiring a certain look.

There isn't a single thing that's wrong with the new Angela model. You're speaking the truth, especially when it comes to Angela's past.
People's ideals and expectations are way too high when it comes to female characters in games. Overly sexualised when there is no need to be. It's a character in a game. Get over it. I feel your frustration.

Thank you for subscribing and yeah this “problem” is dumb; as for the “cunty” remark in the states it’s still bad to say to call a woman that but in the drag, beauty, makeup, etc spaces it also means a positive thing, it’s very new to me too because I was confused when I first heard it but she told me I used it correctly as for a few people I preview the video too; but to be safe I’ll probably won’t say it again In the future lol

Maria and James kinda suck for the reasons you listed. For Angela, it's really just the graphical fidelity in that one shot from the graveyard that I think needs some work. What sucks to me, is everyone celebrating the new james model when he's literally just a nerdy looking version of leon.
My problem with Angela and Maria visually is they look LESS like real people than before. Angela just looks odd in general, and Maria is proportioned like she's from a rushed cartoon. It's not "woke". It's lazy. If it was "wokeness" that caused these issues, that wouldn't even explain most of the actual issues. Being Bloober Team would.
(and even if they're doing their absolute best and are good at it, why is ANYONE on this WHOLE PLANET expecting Konami to let them finish it before they force a release date? How many times do you have to be tricked by the SAME PEOPLE?)

I understand your argument, but they actively stated within the marketing itself that they wanted to "reinterpret" Silent Hill 2 for a "modern audience" (as if they exist to begin with) so you can flat out make an argument it totally is "woke" Silent Hill. Not to mention the gameplay is a active downgrade from the original. Blooper Studios and Konami really though the best way to make a "modern" Silent Hill 2 was to basically make a diet The Last Of Us clone and call it a day.

A Last Of Us clone is exactly what Silent Hill 2 2024 is, this is arguably the case since so many of the Resident Evil remakes already take influence on how it presents the story, gameplay, and environment from The Last Of Us. The way how James grabs items, reads certain passages, or even how he swings a weapon throughout the footage we've seen all wear The Last Of Us influence on its sleeves. This isn't just a Silent Hill or Resident Evil thing either. The majority of big story focused triple A games for almost 10 years have take some kind of page from TLOU in some way and its getting absolutely obnoxious. It's even worse in Silent Hill because it goes against the whole concept of the original 4 games. James legit looks and sounds like he's never been in a fight in his life, why would his character be able to swing accurately towards a enemy or able to aim accurately towards an enemy? Again this goes against the very point of these characters.
Also yes something being "modern" doesn't equate to "woke." However since this is modern day cooperate gaming business we're talking about it definitely is woke. Who are these "modern audiences" do these companies talk about? Almost every time they try to "appeal" to them they end up losing a huge amount of cash. Also the majority of those people aren't referring to Angela. They're referring to Maria who has a worst design that actively goes against her whole point of the narrative, but also looks gives her weaker design in a sense where make her personality even less apparent. Angela they just did her dirty with that godawful model.
@@shriderrad4123 then I raise the question would you rather James be bad at combat or have no combat at all kinda like outlast scenario because if one of the main issues you have with how the game presents itself with the combat ( which is a genuine concern considering the last silent hill that was combat focused was a HUGE flop) I see no way to satisfy people in the combat aspect; and not trying cop out for James but or the game itself this could be slightly more capable than before I mean heather in SH3 had better use of combat because her dad trained her for good reason and made her take self defense classes, now Maria I don’t mind the change however I would lie if I’m not bit confused by the design choice although for her redesign, I think the flirty/ provocative nature still comes through, maybe the new angle or choice we make in game cause her to be more and more flirty since Maria as a whole thing she bounce between Mary and something silent hill made to fuck with james
No one was clamoring for Angela of all ppl to be hot now. Just keep her the same, but with today's graphics. But no, hit detection or whatever the dei company working with this game is, declared themselves that she was too attractive and must be "fixed" for modern audiences which almost always seems to mean man them up and ugly them up. She wasn't exactly a looker in the first place. They probably had to mess her and maria up because otherwise what are they getting paid for?

But if you see that a game TV show or movie has hired one of these companies, you can be sure it will be super woke, race swapped or 'ethnic' characters of all kinds added just because, characters uglified, etc, etc. Any one of these or a combination of them or all will be applied.

if you gona change all the faces then dont call it a faithful remake, plus these character designs are not something up to debate these are established characters. the orignal game made sur they made high definition models for the cut scenes to make sure the audience know how these character looks like if they are realistic. this isnt part of the game with wiggle rooms like the game play and level designs.
if you think changes the face is ok then why dont also change the hairs, make all the characters bald, why not? if you are mad about a patch of hairs on top of their head you care too much what is wrong with you just spend 70-200 dollars and stop crying
to change the faces they have to make redesign of the faces first so if they not going follow the source materials at all you cant call it faithful remake its disrespect for the orignal team and its also a lie to the audience.
I’m gonna be real with you these new and old models In comparison is not that bad, hell if anything Angela looks her age now in compared to her old model she looks like a late teen with hella stress compared to the “19” years old we got in the original game like I love both but if we are being honest with ourselves they both have issues and flaws with said models; I’ve asked several people with no knowledge of Silent hill and asked them which model looks like a late teen -early 20 years old and all of them say the newer model but on the opposite end if you asked which one shows more emotion (so far we haven’t seen everything yet) they said older one; and lastly being kinda nitpicky but a “remaster” I expect some things different like with all the RE remakes they’re not “100% faithful” but they all keep the core theme and core gameplay the same just like we see with this trailer everything so far look in line with the original just with a few changes that I personally don’t mind or ruin the game for me but if it does for you your entitled to your opinion

This is a good take and I completely agree about waiting 15 years for a good Silent Hill. The last time someone gave a honest try was fucking Shattered Mems on the Wii. I can tell these fuckers arent fans and they weren't around in the dark ages when Homecoming and Downpour were what we had on the dinner plate. Also agree about folks focusing on Angela's looks, how do you miss the fucking point that much?
My take too! This is getting a BIT out of hand. I will say though that to be fair, we've all been extremely patient waiting for a good silent hill experience since MAYBE shattered memories? We then finally had something after years of pachinko with P.T. and they bagged it. A big "Fuck you :)" to all us silent hill fans. Anything that's come after has been super mid to just down right disrespectful.
Then out of nowhere they tease several silent hill projects getting us all excited by how much they talked it up. Only to have short message and ascension. We haven't had any news on F but just with what we've gotten so far, I've been cautiously optimistic (and even that is fading). I really just want a GOOD silent hill game that lives up to the best in the franchise. I honestly don't give a fuck if Angela has one or five chins, the characterization just needs to be there and on full display.
The whole SH2 story is fucked and I want to be able to see those story beats shine through. I thoroughly enjoyed layers of fear for what it was so I'm willing to give bloober team a chance. Despite all the pointless in-fighting in our Fandom I truly believe we all want is to just have our silent hill back. Let's just see how this goes 1st THEN if you guys wanna go doomer goblin mode on Bloober and Konami be my guest. Just because silent hill is about positivity and harmonization, doesn't mean we can't be 🥲..
If I was to design an Angela redesign I’d have made her look like daisy Edgar Jones. But this Angela is quite good for bloober. I’d have expected them to make her look more like a little fat goth with a hoodie that says victim on it. You know. They aren’t known for their subtlety are they bloober team.

Silent hill 2 was a mature game the remake is watered down for a "modern audience" weak kneed people that get offended at mature themes. Just because you are desperate for a new silent hill game does not mean everyone else should hold heir criticism of the game we haven't seen Eddie who was fat in the original what will they do with that chartacter or will they just cut him? James seems combat trained like he's an RE chara, James in original was way less able to fight this can be a good thing or q bad thing maybe it will feel better to play. Or the fact that a single player game is going for 120 usd to play it 2 days early that's just silly.
so yeah it is a bit more than "girl not pretty" it comes down to corps trying to milk as much money as they can from olfd games or these people that do remakes changing the stories and cutting content or not being 100% to the originals that gave them the opportunity to make the remake in the first place that's just disrespectful.
The whole reason people liked SH2 was because it was not afraid to deal with mature themes depressing stuffs like jame hiding from pyramid head whil it killed the leg monsters, and seeing James wrestle with his dark nature. for sure the original did not insult it's audience. So you're fine being told that you can't see awful stuffs in an M for mature game that's not everyone's opinion I'm glad you get new silent hill game though enjoy it.
but in off case that it does not sell well it's because konami did scummy moves with pricing and that the devs felt the need to change the story oh and make the character ugly to get people to talk about the game.
in end it's good to see a different opinion but still people that are not happy should not be bashed for not being happy even if the remake was perfect someone was going to complain that's just what you get for remaking good content.

Everything you said is a valid thing to say about this game hell game in general nowadays however I would like to add that that some things we all knew was getting change ( I knew Angela boss room was 100% the glory holes was a bit overkill imo) and I’m not necessarily desperate for this game it’s just more it’s really annoying to see people have wild and baseless opinions on said game that’s why i hammer down on the woke or she’s ugly now takes I’ve seen; but thats also doesn’t mean I don’t have anything to say against this game like my biggest concern is the combat like you mentioned because the last Silent hill game that was “combat focused” was homecoming💀; in the end I’m will be hopefully until the very last cutscene of the game when it comes but thank you for insight on why you have valid criticism points! (P.s the game is a -10/10 if they cut the pizza scene out!)

Maria is the main villian of the game and literal final boss who shows her true monster form. Her entire purpose did to keep James from accepting the truth of him and Mary and make him consumed by his lust.
This is just like the idiots complaining about The Boss in MGS ∆. 🙄

About Maria, people forgot that during the section of the hospital (what was showcased in the trailer), Maria is actually less seductive because of Laura and what the hospital symbolises for Marie (Being sick, bond with Laura, needing protection and affection etc). So yeah she's not seductive and all because of that but it was the same in the og game, we just didn't see the other scenes where she's "lustful" (1st encounter with maria, the maze, ect) and they say they're fans ?!
Maria symbolism is about sexualisation mainly but she's not only that, she's more nuanced than the sexiness only, to reduce her character concept to the physical appeal is a misstep imo. So there is many ways to portray sexualisation within a character beyond the looks ! (And now I want to make a video in defense of SH too ! lol)

This game is gonna be bad, its a survival horror game made by a walking sim jumpscare dev. The dialogue isn't stilted and awkward like the original. Oh by the way I don't care how Angela looks, she looks fine, and so does James, but I have my doubts gameplay wise and I don't think the story would hit the same as the OG. Also don't call out the chuds, they'll come for you.
EDIT: I also don't think James looks like Leon, he just looks like some guy i'd stand behind in home depot and its kind of fitting, even if I didn't like it at first.

Reminds me of when they put a black woman as lead protagonist in Alan Wake 2 and the chuds went ballistic. Who knows what will be the final outcome of silent hill 2 remake but after a few days I don’t think Angela’s face is too bad lol I mean, the resident evil 2 remake was amazing and look at Claire. That is one weird looking face lol, Jill in resident evil 3 was more attractive.
The thing is though, why can't they just not make females look weird.. Like why does it have to be a thing. Its not even about wanting super model level beauty, but just stop making them ugly on purpose.

James design change is a positive example of this, BG3 is aonther example the fans feedback is what made BG3 the game it is today Sven Vinke himslef said that. Here's a news flash BG3 and TLOU2 all have woke elements in them but are masterpieces..why? The deveopers are top tier and even GTA 6 has woke elements but will surely be a masterpiece because its Rockstar.
