He sung on more hits than all the lead singers combined and got first Grammy for Motown.. But Dennis would always be humble of his talents.. They are "Serious Role Models" when you're 14 to 30 years old, and their influence lasts the rest of your life!! I thank God for the Temptations!! They've had hard times, because they had hard and difficult beginnings, but they kept growing, and their perseverance has inspired millions of people that they have never met!! Dennis Edwards did a phenomenal job on this song. He could really sing! He never got the credit he deserved as a lead singer. No two singers are alike, as he is not David nor Ollie but in his style he is very, very good. Dennis is better known for the Norman Whitfield social conscious songs like Cloud Nine, Papa was a rolling stone and other uptempo song but he was at his absolute best on slow or mid tempo songs.

I love David and Ali, but I would say that Dennis was the best lead vocalist the Temps ever had. He brought more passion, emotion, and raw power to the table than any other. Few could imitate him. His voice took over and commandeered the performance like no other. RIP, brother, you were the best. I loved Paul as a lead as well. His voice was unique with many tonal sides to it. RIP, Mr. Paul Williams. RIP Eddie, David, Mel, and Ali. The greatest vocal group of all times.

I have to agree. I love David Ruffin, and Ollie Woodson as well as Paul Williams. But can you imagine if Dennis followed in his father‘s footsteps as being a preacher? Well, he technically was on stage when he would talk to the people. I can totally picture him being a preacher. When he was young growing up in church he was a choir director at one point. Rest in peace Denis, you are sorely missed along with the other temps.
