The creator of Spare Parts here, I made the mod mainly so I could get god rolls with less farming, so I find it very amusing that everyone so far seems to go straight to making the craziest combinations they can think of. Thanks for showing off the mod, I hope everyone has fun with it!

I wish this was part of bl3. People complained about how you don’t look at the physical guns anymore because of anointments, and this could fix that.

I have been thinking about this since bl3 was announced, being able to scrap and change the parts of a weapon would reduce the eternal grind for a perfect weapon, imagine being able to create a 98% sham using spare parts from imperfect ones, although, it could be a bit broken you could add an option of part durations only for modded weapons
I don't need or want an eternal grind. It should be enough that I got that item once or even a couple times. Go play Remnant 2 or Elden Ring. There are other ways to make the game interesting eternally. Ways that don't RNG me to death. (ok there are RNG aspects to Remnant 2, but the rng there is more about what areas of the map you'll see. and if you don't see it, go back to town and reroll that area. But generally speaking, kill something, get it's unique loot. And that loot is fixed. There wouldn't be a 80% sham in remnant 2. It would always be it's set values.)
This really needs to be a thing in bl4. They’ve had the thought since presequel, they just didn’t pursue it further. Also, pretty sure destiny has a way of customizing guns sooo get with the competition gearbox.
Agreed. Destiny lets you toggle things on your weapons, for example. Go in and toggle it to a certain mode. Upgrade it. They also have special items that have tons of mod slots.
Destiny fixes a lot about what's wrong with Borderlands for me. But it also has it's own issues. Destiny isn't perfect. Neither is Borderlands.

Get the sanity saver SDK to avoid sanity checking of your legendaries.
yeah i remember my first time i played Azurelands i forgor to download the sanity saver.
seeing my inventory from six+ hours of time in the mod get deleted instantly made me big sad

Tbh the mod pretty mid, can’t make anything too crazy because every unique ability is on the barrel and you can’t have 2 barrels on one gun

You need the Hex editor, so you can ACTUALLY make anything you want

I did also want to see more about the mod and using it ... well. And I wanted to see more of the guns in action after the salvage/combine stuff.
I do like your modding though.
omg this is EXACTLY what i wanted for bl3! (well aside from the kinda scuffed models :L) get the wrong stock on your pimpernel or have a preferred scope? you'd only need to farm for an op10 in the right element then just break down white sniper rifles for the desired parts to graft onto it instead of read only rng farming for hours
