Not a game dev but as a developer myself, it's fucking soul crushing to develop software where you constantly have to battle with systems and services that are not built for the job so i complete understand what those guys were going through
not a dev but imo this is the reason why they jumped to UE5. Idk why people are so pressed about cdpr dropping redengine when it was more of a hindrance than naything
@@rajder656 because its always a shame to abandon something built with passion and effort, even if it was defective and may take years just to fix and document.
@@r.daneel.90 it's like trying to make a homemade plane fly. Yes it might somewhat work but you ain't gonna use it for passanger flights. Too much money, too much time to train new employees, too much time to modify the engine. It's a sacrfice very few studios can afford and considering cdpr is still fairly small compared to other companies you can't really blame them
i feel bad for them but i feel worse about the ppl who wasted 60 bucks and waited 6 years to play a half baked game.
@@aaabatteries9948 wait which game are you talking about ?
Cyberpunk was obviously super convoluted in its development and prob very lacking management,
It had plenty of management. Just the wrong kind. Previous management had no clear vision of what they wanted out of the game early on and wasted valuable development time on creative dead ends, which ate up their production calendar and budget. By the time they finally settled for a feature-set and story experience that was practical for their engine and other limitations it was too late to clean up bugs and polish up the features before release.
@@martuuk8964 Current management is better? CDprojekt turned full woke lol. They applied for ESG rating, which means woke shit over real story and creativity.
Heard there were a lot of issues with bug testing and priorities, esp with the testing team they had to outsource with the size of the game. Not realizing the problem they had was def an issue with management, since they apparently spent a lot of time fixing random bugs rather than game-breaking ones due to the weird quotas they gave the testing teams. I forget who by but there's a good video talking about the development process. Might've been penguinz0, or maybe he just reacted to it at some point.
Apparently the direction of the game changed completely halfway through developement. Add on top of that the fact that the game only entered developement in 2016 (it was announced back in 2012) and as well as management's inability or uneillingness to delay and you have a right old mess
PS:
Lets also not forgrt that Covid slowed down developement to a *crawl* during its last year. Leaving a lot of QoL features and bug fixes to be implemented very slowly
Don’t care tbh, shit game, sold on fake promises🤮
Anime is cool tho
They should have not made the game for last gen, it would of been amazing if they just focused on next gen.
Would have
@@antares3030 Ty ser
Hard agree. Currently playing the PS5 version of the game and its amazing.
@@antares3030 Thanks, it was damn near incomprehensible without that correction.
Nah they scrapped like half the features that wouldve made it good
Witcher 3 is $10 on steam right now. If you like single player games, it’s worth it.
it`s actually worth full price
Cmon guys its cause they had to make Cyberpunk for so many platforms, alongside developing their own game engine for the game.
The scope was simply too big and they couldn't keep up, I'm sure they learned their lesson.
oh sweet summer child
@@yalopov Well, they clearly have to some degree with all the changes, dedicated 2 whole studios to the sequel, and the whole move to UE5 instead of their own engine.
@@cibaresh this but tbf the red engine they used for cyberpunk was waaayyy more technically advanced than re3
@@UltimaKeyMaster tbh if they actually fixed it i wouldnt care but its been 2 years and they still havent added half of the features they showcased in the fake demo lol
Many games do this and don’t release in the horrible state 2077 was in.
It's actually naive to think the new witcher will be as good as the previous one. Games created by people, not by company brand. And current cdpr is not the same as used to be, many core devs left it. It's like comparing today's Blizzard to a year 2000 one and expecting something good of it.
The devs that left actually came back for Witcher Remake
More developers isn't better seems to be the case. I swear they need to reduce team size of every game company in half but pay them 75% more.
@@PrivateTouch they remaking Witcher? Is that the graphic update?
Nothing changed regarding their story telling if you look at Cyberpunk 2077. If anything it is even improved.
Pay less, actually 😮😅😂downvote my unpopular opinion
I've been playing 80+ hrs and i enjoy the game with quickhacks, ninjutsu and cold blood build.
Same here, but sandevistan with the Burya tech revolver. Bought it for half price and having a blast.
Played 180-ish hours, probably a bit less just from going afk with the game open.
About 80-90 hours each of a sniper build and a netrunner build; basically the two easiest cheesiest builds.
It's a lot of fun, but it obviously has its faults; something usually turns fucky with the lights in the game if I play for too long, some weird shit with vehicles spawning partially underground or inside another vehicle, and in the early days I had a gamebreaking bug where an essential NPC didn't spawn in.
Night city is gorgeous though, spent hours just driving around it. On a motorcycle, because I hate how the cars feel.
All in all I'm satisfied with the game, I have no regrets over paying full price for it, but God, it had such promise, and it could've been so much better with a bit more dev time.
The guy at the left is Asmongold in 3 years
New world really crushed it with these dev interviews eh?? Feels like all the devs are doing this now from every studio
do you seriously believe theyre the first/only ones to do that before it became a MUCH needed trend?
Has anyone the full video? Can't find the asmon stream nor the interview on twitch and youtube. 🤷♂
Their failure was trying to use an engine, that the fastest thing that moves in Witcher is ROACH. Then repurpose it to a fast-paced open world like cyberpunk. Witcher 3 had horrible texture load ins. They were mostly noticeable during cutscenes. They essentially did multiple tiny band-aids to the engine and didn't really step back and fix the root causes. Why do you think they are moving to Unreal Engine?
The sad thing is that there are so many people that played cyberpunk on launch or never played it because of the negative shit around the launch, that will never get to play the truly amazing game it became. Legitimately one of the best games of our time, but only after they cleaned up all the broken shit. If you never played it or only played it around launch for a bit, I strongly recommend you give it another shot. And you're welcome.
It's still the same fundamentally....all people care about is content and the game is very lacking in that regard.
@@t19890204the game have a lot of content
I gave it a chance and you were right. One of the best experiences in gaming I've had. Been addicted trying to find new endings. The gunplay and combat is so good.
Cyberpunk 2077 AFTER ALL PATCHES AND DLC, solid 7. Best game of our time? Don't be delusional. Game lacks tons shit of content for a TRIPLE A.
The problem with cyberpunk is they way over promised at the start, gave statements early in development it would not be released till it's ready and then under-delivered a bug filled mess. I mean I'm sure it's a better game now but I just have no interest in ever playing it again from the terrible first experience.
I still have love for the Witcher though so haven't given up hope (on the studio) but it will definitely be a buy AFTER release once the game is determined to not be another 2077.
Yeah all in all the game is a solid 6 now but with how a lot of the core systems are still underdevelopped. It struggles to deliver what we all were advertised
You should buy AFTER all your games
@@burrybondz225 No
@@Zanduras1 well respectfully prepared to be duped the rest of your life
finished watching the anime and bought cyberpunk2077 on a whim I didn't encounter bugs or some random shit overall it's a good game.
but its not really a game not would make a lasting impact tbh the marketing and hype really make all the difference.
Anime
By now it had already been mostly patched with most of the bugs and issues ironed out.
With how many issues the game had during its developement, its a small miracle the game came out playable *at all*
1. Apparently the game only entered full developement in mid 2016 (it was announced in 2012 and up until that point CDPR had most of its staff working on Blood & Wine) and changed directions many times, before they finally decided on the current story and to have Keanu as Johnny in late 2017. Leaving them with just 3 years to develop the actual game from scratch
2. The game couldn't be delayed to 2021 because management had alredy promised investors a 2020 release date thinking it was pheasable, only for literally everyone else in the company to literally laugh it off thinking it was a joke, because *everybody* knew that they needed nearly double the time
3. Covid slowed developement to a crawl. It became much harder for the team to properly communicate with each other and most had to work from home. Meaning that in that last year QoL features and bug fixes were implemented very slowly or if they *were* it was minor stuff instead of fixes to game breaking issues
that has nothing to do with miracles but skill. It's not a miracle that the game actually came out, it's hard work of skilled people, period.
It's a decent game but for all the hype around it before it released the expectations were never met lmao,
May I tell you a well known secret? Every good dev shits on their game. If you can't shit on your own work, you are not good yet.
Looks like it's time for the core Cyberpunk devs to branch off and re-make their own studio, if they can't get rid of their evil overlords?
I bought the game 2 years later on PC, 1 hour and 30 mins in encountered a t pose bug, everyone around me hit a t posed. Gun audio bug, gun being invisible, game crashed, refunded to buy something else. Will wait another year and get it for $10-20
It's almost like they're the cast of GoT shit talking the last season without actually dissing it lol stepping on toes without stepping on toes. Love it.
CD Projekt Red just want to make big money again and The Witcher is the safe card to do that, they workers know.
I love Cyberpunk, they fixed the shit out of it.
@@PhantomGardener If anyone still plays on last gen consoles, you're literally a moron.
It went from completely terrible to eh; it's alright. Standards are at an all time low.
@@inputfunny Lol dude it's more than alright, it's got 91% on recent Steam reviews and it's $29.99 right now.
@@llamatarian3913 Justin Bieber was also popular.
@@llamatarian3913 Thats hype coming from the anime people lol.
The anime was badass though. So good.
Cyberpunk was the most fun game I played this year, got me hooked from start to finish, amazing stories, decent gameplay, even the side quests were amazing, granted, I did not play on release, I heard It was bad so I waited for the fixes.
bro said decent gameplay lmao cope
an awesome game now!
Yeah game is great, having alot of fun
@@6feet1deep bro talking like 17 year old twitch user
@@6feet1deep maybe he thinks the gameplay is decent? I know opinions are hard to think about
I was hopeful about the future of cdpr until they posted their video supporting esg. I'm sure their next games are going to be awful.
Tf is esg
@@Roxasdakings Just a progressive thing companies are picking up and people think its "woke". It opposes making jobs overseas and supportive of LGBT rights. The LGBT part is the only thing that is making people say its woke. Rest of it is paying people living wages, taking power away from CEO's, embrace corporate transparency, reduces carbon emissions. From what I have read its all good stuff especially taking away CEO's powers from the chairs of the boards.
@@Roxasdakings put on CZcams cdpr esg and watch the video.
People so cringe with this "esg" shit. It doesn't mean anything, how esg stops people from writing good stories and characters? It doesnt, get over it.
It saddens me that a Witcher 4 is only being made for financial and reputation reasons...
ngl cyberpunk right now is a great game
Yeah they're happy because they're doing something they don't suck *ss at
The only reason they're dissing it is because they actually had to make it good 😂
I was waiting for over 1.5 year to play cp. I watched edgerunners on Netflix and sai “now is the time” … and I love the game so much ❤❤
Regardless of what people may think, Cyberpunk 2077 is the best game I've played and that's coming from a place where I've spent 800 hours playing TW3.
And tthis is their last good game. Look up their youube channel. They embraced ESG rating. Check what it means for the game development.
Not to be rude but you def. need to play more games if cyberpunk is the best game you played so far... 800hrs in witcher 3?
They fucked up, they apologized, they've done a lot to improve it...let's just joke and laugh about it now.
Wish more developers could have that attitude towards their fuck ups. Could never see someone from eg. DICE joke about their recent fuckup with BF2042.
Yeah because it's so funny ripping people off? Promise one thing, then deliver a half-assed version of something that shouldn't even be called an alpha version.
We'll see how gullible people are and IF CDPR can deliver with the next entry of the Witcher series.
@@jaytomson3492 Yeah well people are gullible and stupid. That people saw the trailers and actually thought it would work on old gen is hillarious.
I waited 2 years and bought it for half price and gotta say, game is alot of fun really enjoying the story of Night City.
Cyberpunk is STILL bad all this time later. It just will never be a fully polished feeling game ever and will forever be riddled with random janky issues. What a terrible shame... them lying throughout development is just icing on the shit cake.
Couldnt care less about another witcher game at this point or anything coming from them really.
Cyberpunk is a great game now, had a blast of a time. Sounds like a you problem
This entire comment section is an echo chamber of people who haven't played the game since patch or just didn't enjoy it. Outsiders beware, the argument isn't worth your time
For real, the sheer fact that people don't get to enjoy some insanely well written stories is pretty sad when their alternative is to just keep dunking on the game but also eating up garbage like Blizzard's games and Cod Junkzone 2.0
The biggest mistake was releasing it on outdated last gen consoles, they simply can't handle the game's scope. The game was really fun for PC on release.
ya bullet sponge trash ai no thanks lmao bro has just been so starved for a good game you people convinced yourself this slog is actually decent art
I played the game and enjoyed it but the hate is 100% justifiable. The marketing was misleading to a nearly criminal level. Many features that were promised are still missing. Sad that gamers are so used to being abused like this that they dont even see why its wrong anymore. Just because 2 years later the game is a decent rpg doesnt make it all ok. This is the AAA equivalent of a minimal viable product that was sold as the next major step in gaming from a well trusted developer/publisher.
CZcams comments isn't exactly my go-to for enlightened opinions anyway kekw.
Memers gonna meme.
didnt played cyberpunk but this game is like most hated in recent years and yet it has 78% positive steam reviews overall and 91% recently, like what? is this some online echo chamber and casual ppl dont give a fk and just enjoy this game a lot?
Its because its been fixed since original release.
The game is out for two years, is it so hard to understand that you can patch games? A simple 5 sec search would show you how it was on release...
Maybe you have your own echo chamber for typing this OMEGALUL
nah its definitly smooth brain enjoyers, thtas why th evideo game industry is going into the trash; theres more people that dont give a fuck about the little important things than do
Thats because the game is actually really good in a lot of ways. The reason its hated so much is because the marketing was misleading, they created a fake demo that they marketed as real gameplay and scrapped many of the awesome features they promoted. Then when the game out it was a buggy unfinished mess that ran horribly on lots of machines and consoles. To top it all off they had this slogan of “when its ready” for the release date, then rushed it out way too early so they could double dip in last gen console sales before the new consoles came out. They promised not to have dev crunch to finish the game, but then had dev crunch. They were one of the most respected devs/publishers in the biz before it all so the outrage was palpable. A sad story of corporate greed taking something people enjoy and sabotaging it for no real gain.
I mean, obviously the launch was disastrous but the game is actually really good now. I've sunk a lot of time into it, there's a lot of diversity in builds and a massive number of choices that can change your experience pretty significantly. Solid pickup in 2022.
big true
Cyberpunk 2077 is not a bad game.
It’s just one of the most disappointing ones. Man, that 45 minute gameplay showcase was the biggest example of false marketing since NMS.
I loved this too. Cyberpunk sucked. Not sure why so many people still simp for it. The game is nowhere near what they said it was going to be.
lol them working on cyberpunk and knowing it's going to be a shit show so they try to get out of it by attempting to be on the witcher team.
Funny how they launch a shell of a game, and then washed their hands of it all well promising more.
At least anime was cool tho. Games still a pile of shit much like the avg cd projekt employee’s word😂
Game is extremely fun now, having a blast. And they didn’t wash their hands of it at all, it’s getting frequent updates
I mean I kinda get why Cyberpunk is hated like that because everyone expected quality like the Witcher 3. And when it didn't meet those qualities, everybody was dissapointed. But the fact is, that Cyberpunk 2077 is still a pretty decent game with great story and great gameplay that is worth its price. Yes it could have been better but it also could have been far worse. So overall I think it is 7/10 game which is not bad.
blue hair alert
pft, they know themself that their game is garebage. i guess its something, hopefully that kind of disapointment does not happen again
It was so.boring
Witcher was so boring
Cyberpunk 2077 was the biggest let down in gaming history.
Nah
Don't even think Witcher 4 be anything good. CDprojekt signed for ESG rating, basicly they signed to make their company to embrace woke culture 101% like all big worst game companies for extra funding. They even made videos about making safe spaces and diversity on their youtube channel. If you hire people and write story script for corporate checkboxes over creativity, you're done. CDprojekt is done.
Man you like to complain a lot don't you, if you don't like it go play another game
Yes. I won't play future CDprojekt games, because they'll be shit. Guarantee. Just like blizzard, it's not a company that made Witcher 3 anymore, don't expect much.
Anyone complaining about wokeness has no idea what tf they are talking about. Touch grass loser
yeah because the game was dog water
L
Game just sucks, finally gave it a chance beat it last night, sure they fixed MOST of the bugs, but still, combat is boring and easily broken, enemies still just blip in around you, story is predictable and boring, driving just sucks :/ and alot of minor bs
Cyberpunk is hot garbage, even when it works as intended. I'd be happy to leavy it behind and work on a Witcher game instead, too.
Cyberpunk is a great game and you are goofy
CDPR has gone full woke. They are going to ruin the Witcher series. Only support their previous work and none of their future ones. Boycott these clowns to oblivion.
Ok snowflake
Anyone complaining about wokeness instead of actual problems needs to touch grass
