It might be a warm-up set (opener). She does this same bit, but better, in another special, kind of like she was trying out new material here.
She’s just a brilliant comedian. I love her timing on her jokes...and the fact she writes her own material. Big plus!

Another female comedian did that joke with “he woke me up.. daddy, i don’t want to go to school” not original and not the best delivery. She also sounded whiny and I think that put the audience off.

I realize the first joke might be somewhat simple or even lazy written, but her persona delivers it hilariously. Her expressions reminds me of Anthony Jeselnik, she seems very confident while telling this joke which I could easily see in Anthony's repertoire.

This was actually really funny
I think Nikki is at her best when she is just free forming jokes. A lot of her improv is hilarious. This set seemed like her variation of the same jokes we've heard over and over again. I think that's why the crowd didn't give her much response. Although that Jesus joke got me hard.
That is a theory. Another theory is they didn't think she was funny. It happens. The next night's crowd may have loved it.
