The animation in this is surprisingly really good. I didn't have high expectations when I stumbled upon this but, it was worth watching. I miss the McDonaldland characters. They were fun.

Funny how the character animations are so stuff, but the water effects and stuff are so lush and detailed. In a lot of early 90s stuff, it looks like Japanese studios really loved putting extra effort into water scenes.

I must admit when I saw this WAY back in 1990, I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. Who would have thought that mascots for a fast food restaurant could be the protagonists in a production like this? And a good production at that? Great cast of actors, great story, and impressive animation. I like how detailed the artwork is. For 1990, its very impressive.

They have a Treasure Island parody and yet Captain Crook doesn't appear until the very end? What a ripoff! Although I do kinda wish this thing was a full tv show.
Nya, I agree. As the story unfolded I kept thinking, "Where in the hell is Captain Crook?" Also, I missed out the Fry kids. Wouldn't it have been more logical that the captain accompany the rest of the characters in the adventure and the kids were the ones who found the book? Well, and it would have been nice a cameo of Officer Big Mac and Mayor Hamburger.
This was before I was born but I swear, video deserves more respect! Like, I am really and I mean REALLY impressed with Ronald's design in here! This is one of the first very few times where he shown to be not as creepy but in a rather more HANDSOME design because he sort of is standing out looking more like a regular human. I figure that after all this BS creepy pasta + urban legends, rude insults social media, the internet and pop culture works + all this irrational made on Ronald, in here, the friendly, joy-bringing clown character FINALLY has an appearance that looks more inviting and trustworthy. At least in my POV that is. I really wish McDonald's could've thought about doing this kind of design more after for future projects in order to wind down peoples fears instead taking him out of appearances in the first place. I understand if review reports didn't travel fast back then but still.
To my knowledge, none have been made since the early 2000's movies that came out in the happy meals. And tbh, I bet if they did bring the gang back, it would just be woke politically correct garbage and not be the same like how we grew up with these characters😢
The first one (adventure machine) was done rather cheaply with a very simple, formulaic and bland storyline and made by some small time animation studio. This one looks like it was made by a major Japanese studio, most likely Toei. The quality is far better here than the first one.

I must admit when I saw this WAY back in 1990, I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. Who would have thought that mascots for a fast food restaurant could be the protagonists in a production like this? And a good production at that? Great cast of actors, great story, and impressive animation. I like how detailed the artwork is. For 1990, its very impressive.

Nya, I agree. As the story unfolded I kept thinking, "Where in the hell is Captain Crook?" Also, I missed out the Fry kids. Wouldn't it have been more logical that the captain accompany the rest of the characters in the adventure and the kids were the ones who found the book? Well, and it would have been nice a cameo of Officer Big Mac and Mayor Hamburger.

No one didn’t noticed on 1:31 that Thanos wiped out half the freakin universe.
This was before I was born but I swear, video deserves more respect! Like, I am really and I mean REALLY impressed with Ronald's design in here! This is one of the first very few times where he shown to be not as creepy but in a rather more HANDSOME design because he sort of is standing out looking more like a regular human.
I figure that after all this BS creepy pasta + urban legends, rude insults social media, the internet and pop culture works + all this irrational made on Ronald, in here, the friendly, joy-bringing clown character FINALLY has an appearance that looks more inviting and trustworthy. At least in my POV that is.
I really wish McDonald's could've thought about doing this kind of design more after for future projects in order to wind down peoples fears instead taking him out of appearances in the first place.
I understand if review reports didn't travel fast back then but still.

1985 Ford RS200 (Birdie)
The first one (adventure machine) was done rather cheaply with a very simple, formulaic and bland storyline and made by some small time animation studio. This one looks like it was made by a major Japanese studio, most likely Toei. The quality is far better here than the first one.
