Wow! I was wondering if you had enough time to get sketches done and you did! So Happy you made the time to sketch as much as you did...they turned out Beautifully! I'm amazed how you shared so much of your time there and battled the heat! You Rock!

I really like you wide angle sketches. I rarely sketch that way as I get overwhelmed and often don't feel that I have the time. I should challenge myself more in this area.
Your book is so nice. I agree it will be full of memories every time you look at it. You were so busy I am impressed you managed to draw so much. I like all the boats, but I think my favorite is the drawing of the tower close up. It really feels tall! I had wondered if you took anything extra to bring stuff back in. I think a packable bag, like someone else mentioned might last longer than a box. I can just see it added to your next packing sketch, lol. I am looking forward to the videos you make using the stuff you brought back. :D
👌🤩 I can't think of a more wonderful piece of memorabilia than a hand painted book of your trip! 😄👍 Just a tip; If I'm ever travelling and collect a bunch more things than I brought with me, I just go to the nearest FedEx or Postal store to ship the items to my home. That way they're insured & protected and also, I don't have to lug all those extras around with me. (On one trip tho, my boxes made it home before I did. Mental note taken to always choose the cheapest shipping option, so it arrives home _after_ I do!) Lol 😂
Your sketches make me remember my trip to Amsterdam last year. I stayed on one of those long houseboats with 20 other artists on a sketching and painting tour of five old cities. They are actually barges. I think you might have sketched the barge we lived on for a week!
Teoh, those sketches are complete works of art, as well as the sketchbook as a whole. They are precious to you. Something to be proud of. Your daughter should be able to understand and enjoy them by now. Good luck.
Hi Teoh, you made beautiful sketches, very interesting! It's like a trip to Amsterdam, I'm not so far, but I haven't been there yet. I love the red with the wash of Blue over and the grey black. Nice the touch of the white ink. I prefer the water a little bit more bluish, like in the sketch with the man on the left and the boats Very good work!😄

Lovely. This was a real taste of what Amsterdam is like. Thanks for the watercolour tour, you have made the canals look really pretty. Now you are back home the heatwave in Europe is over and we have monsoon like rains, torrential So glad you got the sunny week even though it was so hot because if it had been raining it would have been a washout of all the lovely sketches! In fact the rain has been so bad I think you would have been drawing each other in cafes instead!
Lovely work, Teoh, as usual, makes me regret I was not as active an urban sketcher when I was last in Holland (far too long ago). Quite impressed that you were able to do as many beautifully detailed sketches in your admittedly limited time there, quite admirable & gives me something to aspire to. Also was very impressed by your treatment of water & reflections, especially in the drawing w/ the houseboats w/ the museum in the distance, really impressed by your choice of how to handle that, which works beautifully in my opinion. Finally...perhaps you used your permanent brown specifically because you'd said you were thinking of pulling it OUT of the set... maybe an exsmple of "the rational subconscious " at work...

I also drew that same boat on my last day in Symposium. That yellow/blue boat was just so cute. I spent so long there though I missed the final picture and even missed the start of the final evening (we mistakenly thought we could walk to the venue directly from the Oosterdok but then we found out we had to walk all the way back around.)
I saw you once filming our group but I didn’t want to interrupt you to say hello. Still it was quite cool to see someone I watch all the time in CZcams in REAL LIFE. :-). Thanks for making all the cool videos about symposium.

What a beautiful book, Teoh. Every sketch is beautiful. And I was thinking you could put together a book for publication which is about your life, where you go, where you've been, with little stories relating to each picture, just as you've done in your video. It would be of particular interest if you included sketches of your little family. Just a thought..... I'd beat up a cloud of dust getting to the bookstore to buy it.
In a way, in this sketchbook, I notice that your way of painting seems to be changing because I see the paint almost within the lines; did you notice this change or is it my impression? I have been a little absent from the channel because I have a sick person in a hospital so my time is short, so maybe because I got away a little I noticed this change. Anyway, I really like your art. As soon as I can, I'll do the "Teoh Marathon" taking a few days to catch up on your videos.
Enjoyed this video very much. I loved your sketches as well. One of my favorites was the last one of the yellow boat. I especially liked the way the colors ran together. I thought you did that on purpose.
You should have gone into the Rijksmuseum. They encourage drawing inside the museum. You see more when drawing instead of photographing is their motto.
Teoh I watched your Amsterdam symposium videos and they were very detailed. Between that and your sketches did you actually take any of the seminars every day? Or were you teaching there?
Nice sketches, enjoyed viewing them 😃. Regarding box, you can get som excellent foldable travel bags, even strong waterproof ones, that fold to wallet size and smaller. Would be a better investment than a box and maybe you could review it too on your channel!
Eva Roberts how exactly did you know the cat was high? Was he stumbling? Slurring his meows? Eyes all glassy and red? Carrying a bag of meow mix with him in case he got the munchies?
There are some packable backpacks you can buy that zip up into the size of a rolled up pair of socks. That might be good to take with you if you think you’ll need more space on the journey back. If you type in “packable backpack” on amazon you’ll get a bunch of options.

You were rather prolific under the weather and situational conditions. This is why I like Urban Sketches, a nice sketch of a momemt in time.

It’s very hard to get high by the remnants of the other smokers, unless you’re literally right next to them for a long period of time
