I LOVE LIS WATKINS!! She’s so great!!
Much appreciated Theo....you make the world a better place....thank you for sharing your talent in such an accessible manner.
This is my favorite channel
Thanks for your kind compliments 😁
Love this style Teoh ! Thank you for the LizW introduction and for posting this vid! 🎉🤩🥰🙏🏾💜👍🏾 How is the baby? Wife? Are you?
Learned a lot from watching this...and lovely surprise, too, to see Liz Watkins Porto sketchbook
Thank you very much! Not only are you talented, but you also manage to explain and give us an idea of how to sketch with some of your tricks. Good job, I really like your style!
Great! love the sketching/watercoloring. It's cool how most of your videos are 4K, especially for seeing the artwork clearly, other channels seem stuck at 720/1080p, so thank you for that too. ☮️
I like to let you guys see things up close in detail
That's cool you do that ... i know 4K files are huge and take extra effort on your part, so thanks again.☮️
Hi Teoh. I really liked this video. 😊
The texture in the trees is amazing.
I really love this style - it makes it easier to control the focal point by using the pen and ink lines to suggest some detail, but not detail everything. I would love to give this a try. Thanks for an interesting video! :)
I like watching your creations come to life. Very beautiful sketch !
Love your "urban sketching" style... you have a great sense for colour combos .. thanks for sharing your techniques!
Wow, Teoh, this is amazing. T shows the airy spaciousness of a city. Thanks for sharing this style. I really love it!
Excellent!!! Thank you for sharing your creative experimentation and thoughtful analysis. I appreciate the opportunity to learn from you
Thank you, Teoh! It’s very helpful to hear you talk through the process and your lessons learned. 👍🏽😎
I just discovered your channel, can't wait to go back and checkout your different videos. Thanks for all the tips!
Teoh..nice, you explain that very well, thank you, and your heart looks great..
That's a beautiful sketch you created! 🎨 Love the style you used! Thanks for the tutorial Teoh.
I’m learning a lot from your channel and now it my favorite art channel!! ✨keep it up
Thanks for bringing Lis Watkins's style to my attention -- her work definitely deserves a closer look. And thanks, of course, for the tutorial! Sketching with / without outlines seems to need a bit more of preparation when compared to pen & ink / paint technique.
After watching your videos for many years, I finally bought my first fountain pen this past weekend, and I just became a patron. Thank you for making tutorials and reviews Teoh 😄
Thanks for your support. You can watch videos all the way from two years ago
Great job, Teoh. I love the outcome.
This is great Teoh and very interesting but I actually prefer your usual style. It is stronger and more lively.
Thanks :-)
Great video - love the addition of the fountain pen!
I’m always learning with you, your video classes and tips, thanks for giving us your time in precious explanations, it helps a lot. 🙏
Hi Teoh I find your videoes interesting and your presentation on various art products is informative.Your sketches are very nice
I love the look of this. When i paint i am always compelled to outline everthing after. Our i draw it all first with pen and ink. This will be a goo practice the let my drawing be guided only by paint and brush.
I definitely love your youtube channel.!!!
It's a pleasure to wake up and have breakfast watching a new video like this.
I start my day totally inspired.
Thanks again.
Great job Teoh! I love this. It's always great to break out of your comfort zone and try new ways of doing things.
Thank you 😁
Really helpful..thanks so much for making this video😊🇨🇦😊
Wow😍
Love the colors
Thanks for bringing attention to Lis 's style -- found it interesting. Loved your demo. Awesome video, as always !!!
Great sketch 👏👏👏👏👏👏
I'm your fan. Thanks for so many tips.
I love your channel. Thank you for sharing so much helpful information and in such a direct and engaging manner. I can't stop watching video after video of yours!
Thanks 😁
wow it's beautiful...a nice departure from your signature style outline n wash!
Teoh Yi Chie has videos for everything art related, you’re amazing ❤️❤️❤️.
On the topic of the video, outlines bring attention to objects, and in my opinion make them more alive. Sans-outline makes them melt into the background, which would be great if you have characters you want to outline and bring attention to instead!
Teoh, this was great. It also seemed like it stretched you a bit out of your normal pattern too. Thanks for sharing both what went well and what was a struggle (though maybe the struggles were just in my mind). The reminder at the end about working from a number of artists is vital too. Great stuff.
Yes, it's like putting together a puzzle 😂
Thanks Teoh, adn all the best to you and your family, especially that new baby.
Great painting !
Thanks 😁
Thanks for sharing, great tips.
Good example. I will develop my sketch.
I absolutely love this look. You did a good job.
That one is great. One of my favorite videos so far. Its unbelievable to see how some squares of red and grey turn into something like this.
Do you like the hahnemühle book. I have it in three different sizes.
The Hahnemule sketchbook is alright, about same quality as other watercolour sketchbooks from Moleskine and Global Art Materials. Good for quick pen and ink watercolour sketches. But wet on wet techniques are difficult on it.
It’s so clear and easy to follow your videos! Thank you!
Excellent video. Thank you.
Love it. Loved how you started out with pencil. Pretty piece of art.
Thanks 😁
Thanks Teoh! This looks like a good way to make illusions of light
I'm your big fan your painting gives me goosebumps 😍
Thanks 😁
ohhh you replied me 😍 your welcome 😎
I really like this style too. I can see it would be faster than inking the whole thing first, but it is definitely (proven!) that it is not necessary to convey the scene and atmosphere. Thank you very much for the demo!
Welcome 😁
Welcome 😁
Thank you for your good advises! Beautiful Sketch ! Have a nice day!✨✨✨🎨
Really amazing sir
Thank you Teoh...you are an amazing teacher!
Ah, another great drawing, Teoh! I will have to try this!
Love that style! Love both ways...
This is a timely tutorial for me as I'm taking a watercolor class and the first assignment is painting without sketching it out first, which is very difficult for me. I appreciate your comments about problems you are encountering and how to self-correct. In my class we are not supposed to use any pencil or pen at all but do the entire sketch in watercolor but I'm not sure if I will ever be satisfied with the results in my work. It makes sense to me doing at least a minimal pencil outline and then painting it the largest areas and some other color demarcations later, then adding details with pen later. "Whatever works for you" is a good reminder.
Creative and fun! Thanks for sharing your experience 😊
I really like this style!! You did a great job as I knew you would! Thank you!
I love it. Very pleasant style, thank you for sharing
Brilliant
I just received the Sennelier paint I ordered from your other video, I think using them for the first time on an exercise like this would be great! Very neat concept, I love the depth that the minimal line work gives the piece. Well done.
Thanks 😁
Teoh Yi Chie I love the paint! Thanks again
Great video! Thank you for sharing and introducing us to this technique!
I really like how you painted the building on the right
I loved the bit at 14:00 😄 lovely as usual
inlike her style. the combination really gives a sense of balance.
Love this style, love how this sketch turned out! :)
It looks really good! Great job. I think this style suits you :D
Thanks for the great sketching !!! :) I would love to see if you can sketch sunset or sunrise scenery in a city!!! It would be quite lovely!
Nice. It feels very fresh and airy.
Another wonderful video thanks again for sharing your skill with us.
Welcome 😁
awesome!love the white gel ink windows on the hotel windows :-0
I’m new to this kind of drawings( buildings ,streets etc) and I wanted to practice it and that helped me a lot ❤️🙏thanks and
Ps: I’m in love with your design and how simplistic your style is and how unique it is😍💕
Nice!
Very cool, Teoh! So inspiring!!
WOW 😮. This is amazing 😍. Your style is so unique 😍. I would to try this on my channel 😃
I LOVE this. The colors you chose are so beautiful and well-balanced throughout the drawing! Do you have a link for the full image?
I really like this style! Are you going to explore it some more? Thank you for introducing different ways of doing line and wash :)
This is a terrific sketch. I think your more familiar with the ink sketch first, but I love this one. Your color choices were right on, and the shadows on that white building are what gave it the shape.
Teoh, as always, thank you so much .
Barbra Joan
Lovely!
Teoh ,you should do some giveaways!!!
Looks wonderful.
Thanks 😁
I also have especially liked this video. It is a looser technique and gives a fresh look . I do have a question. What is the opaque paint you used?
👏
Love the painting!!! What was that black fountain pen you were using?
Hi Teoh
good
Great info. ! What pen are you using! And what brush and # are u using ?. Thanks 😊
Pelikan M200. Nevskaya Palitra brush size 6
I don't use ink for any of my outlines I use a black color pencil
Best books for a line and wash tutorials for beginners ?
Hi Teoh. At 7:52, when you put Ultramarine Blue onto the Olive Green and it pushes the green away, is that something to do with dispersant in the blue? I've been reading about the ingredients used in paints on handprint.com and I recall something about that... not sure though :-)
I'm also not sure what happened there. But definitely not a problem with that Ultramarine since I use it often with Sap Green, Burnt Sienna, and reds and don't see that effect.
Teoh, do you use a fine nib fountain pen for this?
Thank you! Look forward to your wonderful videos every day!
Could you share the reference Photo in the google app? Thx
