So just a heads up for future mate, your GMR and PBM numbers should be sent to you via your office etc, then the GMR must be put in on the website before you get to the dock of travel... input your number and itll give you a green/amber/red for a customs check. Then do the same with PBM but before you get to your port of arrival. Technically also, you should be displaying you 'angle morts' stickers on either side of the cab and trailer, and a UK sign on the side of your number plate... To go through belgium you need a toll box, you can get these from random laybys/truck stops in belgium (theyre like vending machines) you have to scan all your docs (v5 insurance etc) then pay the amount and itll give you the box, plug it into your cig lighter and the light will go green when in belgium... you can return them leaving belgium.. Hope this helps for future

Welcome to post BREXIT life Timmo. Wayyy harder to take anything from the UK to EU and back. Always best to check online what paperwork you need before heading out on the trip
I've never driven to UK, but in EU you must have CMR even if you don't cross any border. Is haulinng in UK so different? 🤔

As an owner operator I know what hassle it is to get in and out the UK with a lorry and a load. Experience makes it a lot easier. But I recognize your struggles at the port , just like I had in the beginning.

You can get the On board unit (OBU) for belgium roads at the borders its better to have it than not when it will be expensive😃 but fun to see i werent the only one having trouble getting the papers🤣

Harbour. Shipping dover rent Belgium boxes out(cos the machine at the border isnt allway available )give them a call & you pick it up from the port near the drivers reception & drop it off when you get back.

Been there and done it! Imagine if we just joined the EU. Would be so much easier.
As someone who works in logistics dealing with customs formalities, a T1 is not always needed, it can be a EUAA or EUAA T1 or EXAD or EXAD T1, but only if the stock is not customs cleared a T1 is needed. But most of all the T1 is always on request of the transporter / customer

about 20 years ago i was doin swiss,goin in no problem (always Bale) comin out wiel am rhien,every bloody week there was hassle,i'd only picked my papers up half hour before the border,every time i would ask''is everything alright and complete''

the final job i did ,i found out about ata carnet,what fun.
Used to be able to go to stop 24 but changed it to sevington.have to go there to do your carnet…declaration of goods leaving the uk.
Watchout if you have to import/export agricoltural vehicles from a country to another, last week me and my da d had to transport a muck spreader from Switzerland to Italy, it was soo much paperwork that the buyer renounced to buy it, i don't know about wngland but always check👍

All of those documents you mention here should be provided by the sender of the goods up on loading. The alternative is that the numbers comes to your phone while driving towards the border and you go to a broker (like KGH) and get the papers presenting the numbers. If you have your own spediton firm andd take the hauls directly from the sender, its up to you to get all papers like export invoice, cmr etz from the sender of the goods and present to the customs to get a T1 or T2

I was going through Dover out of UK yesterday. My custom paperwork was almost 2 inches thick for 97 euro palets.
Everything must be in order, one wrong small mistake and you are stuck and this is for crossing from or in to UK. I actually going twice to custom becase Norway has own as well.
You just wasted time and fuel next time you must be better prepared. Try to avoid check up point because your lorry is not legal. Unfortunately they can park you and only tow track can take you away

My old man used to cross alot in the 80s presses from old factorys in brum to poland big lumps it was looooong crossing over with all these agents he had to see and queues to cross all the borders be gone weeks

In my work I’ve to enter t1 forms before offloading even that is a pain in the arse wait 20 minutes and see if customs lets you offload it or not it’s just an unnecessary process in my opinion
