My.hometown.... the amalgamation of. 3 towns.... Galt, Preston and Hespeler. Pop. around 130k now.
First, I thought that it is Cambridge, then I've learnt that it's Cambridge and Galt... now you make it more complicated for me 😂😊
@@lvfreeAdventures just a little more background. The video is showing the 'Galt' downtown ( named after John Galt)... The area had a lot of early settlers from Britain in particular Scottish stone workers who built a lot of the beautiful stone buildings you see. The river is the Grand River which eventually empties into Lake Erie. Galt was a mill town with numerous textile factories along with many shoe factories... All gone now. Preston( famous for natural springs that people would travel far and wide to visit) and Hespeler ( one of the largest textile mills in the Commonwealth was there) both with a similar story and they also have their own little commercial 'downtowns'. At Amalgamation into Cambridge (1974) Galt had approx 36k, Preston 20k and Hespeler around 6k. Great video of the downtown Galt area on a Sunday afternoon BTW. Great to see. Thanks
@@dnormore1814 Thank you very much for all that information - this is awesome. I love to learn about Canadian towns and cities that I visit.

Was this during the heat wave?
I like warm weather, I didn't pay attention if it was hotter than usual. If you are asking because it is not too crowdy... it was Sunday afternoon
@@lvfreeAdventures Well I have a feeling you are going to get a heat wave again in July and maybe August.
