wikidub presents another storming session from the archives with Joey Jay at the musical helm.
By sheer coincidence this tape cassette recording was made exactly 20 years ago to the day (09/04/1995) from when I uploaded it to youtube!
Joey Jay in fine style with a a selection of new releases from Jamaica and the UK, some old school dub, a smattering of lovers, nyabinghi and some "new-wave" dub and roots.
Featuring artists such as: The Mighty Diamonds, Yami Bolo, Cocoa Tea, Luciano, Mikey General, Vitamin X, The Disciples, Max Romeo, Mad Professor, Dub Judah, Robert Tribulation, Mykal Rose, Junior Reid, Lee Perry, Barrington Levi, Bim Sherman, Tony Palmer, The Mighty Travellers, Alpha & Omega and others.
For the best in tough roots reggae, there was nobody to beat the mighty Joey Jay back in the day. Not for nothing was his show labelled as "The best radio show in the world - probably".
Light up a fat spliff or pour yourself a rum, or just indulge with absolutely nothing - whatever your preferences - enjoy!
Charlie (the beastie lump) makes a cameo appearance at the end.
