While this was mostly the reason Simone Biles and Taylor Swiftâs names were mentioned in the same sentence in the past year, their connection goes deeper than just being the âplus-onesâ of football players Jonathan Owens and Travis Kelce.
As you all know, Biles and Swift are famous in their own rights and are actually well-known stars in their respective careers - so much so, that some may even argue that they put their respective partners on the âmapâ. But more than that, the two share a mutual respect. As a matter of fact. Likewise. It was then that.
That was in 2021 when #simonebiles notably made waves in the gymnastics community when she withdrew from a couple of events during the Tokyo Olympics. You know all about that. But even then, #TaylorSwift has nothing but praise for Simone Biles after the gymnast made her triumphant return to the Olympic competition, winning a bronze medal in the balance beam final at the Tokyo Games.
The two shared a sweet exchange on X, formerly Twitter, after Simone Biles earned her first individual medal since withdrawing from the previous all-around, vault, bars and floor event finals.

She changed the sport and sport in general. Mental health is just as important as physical. She had the entire weight of the hopes and dreams of a country on her back but made a hard choice to protect herself. She;s incredible. I admire her more now than I did when she was 16.

Taylor, that was beautiful, especially in light of all the hate that was directed at Simone when she had to withdrew!!! When we get extremely depressed when can take a day off from work and get help. But many didnât allow Simone that freedom!!đą Iâm glad she took care of herself!!

7:19 correction: Taylor WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF HER GLOBAL TOUR when she showed up for all of his games, including the Super Bowl in February 2024, flying in from Japan after performing 4 nights in Tokyo! Back at it right after the game!

âTwistiestâ is a dangerous non-sync issue when you cannot perceive where you are in the space of your spins and flips. If you are not a diver, skater, snowboarder gymnast, circus performer at a certain level of spinning, flipping, twisting skill level it is very hard to explain. There is a timing, airspace, and positional awareness that you FEEL. It develops from practice and experience. You donât even know itâs there - until one day itâs GONE. You donât feel right. You donât know if you are up or down. There is uncertainty as to when to pop out of a tuck or twist out of a twist. Without that spacial awareness you risk landing safely. Then you start worrying, and that seems to make things worse. Not everyone gets them, but when it happens, you KNOW because others have experienced it and shared that with others. And now that Simone has highlighted it on a world stage, any athlete that suddenly has that experience can NAME it, OWN it, and DEAL with it without shame or ridicule from others second guessing about something they know nothing about. Continuing to perform under those conditions is dangerous- actually life threatening. Recovery can take different steps. Itâs a bit inner ear, a bit mental health, and a bit reprogramming. Itâs important to name it so we can explore it and prevent injury caused by it.

I have "Never Ever" liked football!! Now , I'm finding two of my favorite artists, one musically and one in Sports are both with football players! One team in particular, which I have shown an interest in because of family, is fans of one of the teams! I have now watched a couple of football games.
