- In this video I explain what Narration in PowerPoint is, and why you;d want to use it (if you're a teacher it's especially useful). I then go on to show you exactly how to set it up, how it works, how to pause it, and how to include things like slide timings, animation timings and even pen annotations.

So much unnecessary talking.

OMG! Thank you so much!!! The intro was unnecessarily LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG!!!
Carefully, he's a hero.
With face to face classes cancelled due to COVID-19, I am having to go to on-line methods of teaching. Since I use Powerpoints extensively, this is most helpful.
I'm in the same boat--and this is the best explanatory video I've found thus far. Thanks, Tech Train!
Same here
As a student who also has to present research and oral reports online, this has also been helpful for me.
Hi please can you help me put ? You know this CZcams channel "Bright side ", please do you have any idea of how to do those kind of explainer videos with pictures and words attached to it ? Is it with power point? Thank you
@@hellocalifornia3059 yes, PowerPoint has the option of being turned into a video once u r done recording ur voice there
One of the best tutorials I have ever seen, and I am a college teacher. Thank you.
Thank you so much, I'm so glad you found it useful!
Perfect timing as I need to present and cannot have a large group present with the current COVID -19 precautions. Very easy to understand.
Thank you so much indeed for taking the time and putting the effort to provide a basic idea about narrated PowerPoint. I have seen this presentation repeatedly as your pace in teaching is great. It is absorbed instantly. Keep up your good work.
This is the best of all the ones I've watched. It answered an important question near the end: powerpoint automatically goes slide to slide if you make sure to click the right button for automatic, not manual.
Thank you so very much for taking the time to put this together. During these very challenging times, this is going to help me and my students a great deal!!! Your service in this way is much appreciated.
Really helpful as I move my lectures fully online in response to COVID-19 directives. I already have the Powerpoint slides created for each lecture, and now am adding my audio comments. Almost as good as face-to-face lectures, and students can access at their convenience, as many times as they wish. Thanks!
Cool, you just allowed me to do my final assignment. Now ready to record and send my presentation just a few hours before the deadline. Your video is short and direct to the point. Unlike other videos that kinda confuse us with so much unnecessary information. Thanks
One of the only people online who explains it the way it should be explained! Thank you sir for your contribution to the tech world!
Thank you so much, I'm very glad you found it helpful. 👍
Thank you for your help! Kind regards from a pre-service teacher having technical hurdles with my math assignment! Much appreciated!
Best and most explanatory video I have found on this subject thus far! Thank you for your clear and in-depth instructions!
Thank you! I'm so glad you found it useful.
Very clearly explained. Spot on. Perfect for people who have to do presentations, but dislike public speaking!
I am teacher in Venezuela, South America and this will be so useful for my EFL students as we are all quarantined. Thank you!
Thank you for a very clear explanation on adding a narrative to a PowerPoint presentation. The pace was easy to follow.
Saved me the hassle of typing out my script. Thank you!
You're very welcome!
During lockdown, I am having to use on-line teaching methods for my classes. I use ppts often so learning about narration is definitely a step up. It is also quick and easy to use with the minimal of fuss
I have never done a narrated Powerpoint presentation and you have made it look like a piece of cake! Thank you!
I'm so glad you found the video helpful. How did your presentation go?

February 2021 and I think this is fabulous. I bet you forgot you'd made this all that time ago. And so good to hear a British voice presenting. (I'm a Brit in the USA) Cheers!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Really like this presentation as I have been looking for something which I can create a narrated PPTX for an online seminar. I believe your explination is one of the better I have come across as it gives me the best of information expecially when saying I can pause. That is a relief being a college professor. =) Thanks so much!

Thank you so much, my professor sent us PowerPoint slides and I had no clue how to start it.
Thank you for this great tutorial! Quick question. When recording slide show narration, I see an image of myself speaking in the lower right corner of the screen. How do I turn this feature off? Many thanks!
Hey, I put this video on my CZcams University playlist for Powerpoint. Thanks for making this helpful content.
I'm delighted that you found the video useful - thank you Micah. Do let me know if you have any further suggestions or requests for topics for me to cover.
Great video! I do have a question though - how can we replace our voice by a system recorded voice? So when the slideshow is presented it would be read by the computer instead with same timings?

Is there any way that I can replace the 'Pen' option into typing during the recording session? It's really hard to write using mouse and it consumes a lot of space. Any add-ons/tools/alternatives?

Hi, thanks for the video-very helpful. I wanted to ask if I could insert a recording to the recording on on of the slides (let’s say I missed saying something and now wants to add it without deleting the whole recording on that particular slide). Thanks
Thank you, great tutorial, I have to do a narrated presentation for my Psych700 course
Hello and thank you for your presentation. I want to inquire about the bulleted text you used, and it advanced with each click. Did you have to set the bullet points up and animations or does it work to click while in record?
great presentation. thanks very much.
I want to also add a video of me from the web cam, my inbuilt camera shows a too big screen. In the corner. Is it possible to do this with Ppt and 2013?
Thank you so much great video!
This was great. Just the information I was looking for!
I'm so glad!
Thank you for that very helpful video.
I was wondering if it is possible to avoid the split-second muting of your voice when you transition from one slide to the next? I am really struggling with that - and I tend to use a lot of slides.
Much appreciated! Ryan
