I try not to speak in absolutes, but I know I'll never hear a better song than this. Growing up in the U.S. as a child, all we heard was "In a Big Country." However, after after gaining access to this band's work during the past 1-1/2 years, that timeless classic isn't even in my Top 5 Big Country songs. Thank you to everyone for keeping this band alive. Thanks to you, they have two new fans - my 11 and 13-year-old sons who ask to listen to The Crossing every time we're in the car.
Love hearing this. Especially from the States. Keep the boys sound alive. Keep listening. I never grow tired of listening to the genius and sound of BC, musicians individually sublime, collectively magnificent. Met the boys on several occasions and saw them live 25 times. Venues all over U.K. and some in Europe. Best live act by a mile in my opinion. Subscribe to Bc 1000 stars for the best clips....
Love the “lawnmower cord pull” false starts off of the top, and Brzezicki is absolutely on fire. I’ll say it again... if my life ever depended on a band...there’d only be one choice! RIP Stuart
I love big country ever since in a big country. It was my favorite song. It's hard to find people that know them. I'm from the real mtv days. I Love the European whale so pure and honorable I live in Hawaii but was born in Massachusetts there one of my favorite bands
What an amazing band. Man, Stuart was so underrated. Incredible, incredible songs and performances. Listening to these masterminds now is like arriving at the impossible crossroads of revelry, appreciation & sadness.
Ya and did u throw the bandanna on? I did....fuckn best band...esp in USA be/ they never went over like u2 so u felt extra cool to be able to understand how mind fuckingly talented this group was
Nothing's loose about BC though. They are as tight and together a band as I've ever heard. Stu, poet laureate of Scotland and the rest of the world too. Forever!
This song still kicks as hard as it did the day I got home from the record store with The Crossing and "Inwards" came on. Needless to say, it still sounds Awesome as it did 35 years ago! Thought it was a much better album than "War". Those first 3 Albums were brilliant magic!
I was at the show in Frankfurt/Offenbach for this tour. This was the tour for The Seer. I still remember the impact of The Storm all these years later...
Probably the best front man and one of the greatest songwriters and guitarists that ever lived IMO (for what it's worth) and one of the best live bands bands I have ever seen. Quality, absolute quality - the best. RIP Stuart.
I think this whole show is my absolute favorite BC performance out of everything that there is to see on CZcams, the guys really lit that audience on fire with so many classics. Unbelievable.
Dunno how Bruce keeps up the rythum so good..there a version of this somewhere where Stuart stops it coz of crowd trouble and Bruce looks well Pissed Off
I think you mean Mark is the best drummer peroid...just look..he dosent just have loads of drums for show...he actually uses them ALL...not many drummers like that,i know i used to be in a band.
Live in New York the best version of this great tune especially Stewart’s solo 👌
the guitar work by stuart and bruce is stellar
