1973 SCCA Trans-Am from Road America - July 28, 1973

This is part of the Harvey West Film Archives. Harvey sadly passed away several years ago after a courageous battle against cancer, however I've been entrusted with all of his old Super 8mm films.
This was the fourth year for the SCCA Trans-Am running at Road America. After the pony car era dwindled in 1972, 1973 saw the addition of more cars to the series with the addition of the Porsche 911S and RSR Carreras, Chevy Corvettes, and Ford Escorts and Capris. The film here is of the first several laps, shot from the outside of Canada Corner. I took the time to figure out the order of the first few cars:
