- This is the easiest way of playing Never Going Back Again whilst keeping the full integrity of the piece. Ideal if you hate barre chords and long stretches; this version takes the pain out of playing this stunning song. Download your left hand finger positions and chord charts here. www.bluenoteguitarschool.com/i... They're FREE - they're mine, so with my blessings, feel free to share all your chums.
Yeah because that pesky bar chord is the hardest part of the song...
After a decade of failed attempts at this song I just picked this up in 15 mins. Great stuff, singing over it already. Learned the chain yesterday I've plenty of Fleetwood now:D
I've been a finger picker for over 55 years. My fingers are automatic. The toughest part for me with this has been teaching my fingers a new pattern. They seem to be adapting well, so, don't give up, your brain will create new pathways, (just like learning to type in typing class in the olden days. Yes, high school offered typing classes).
I have been working on this song for 2 years (since I picked up the guitar). Apparently, I like complicated songs for a newbie….. but I wanted to say that your tutorial is THE BEST one I have watched …. Wish I had found this one 11 months ago when you posted it! I’ve been playing with capo on 4 trying to bar and stretch and I could only get to a very choppy version. This is making all the difference for me! Thank you for taking the time to write out the notes (16 pages!) and recording this tutorial!!! I’m giving this old favorite song of mine another chance!! 🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️❤️
someone stealing your work and using it….is the biggest form of flattery 🙂 …i have a pet hate this song. been trying to play it for years with my stupid dislexic fingers..even with easier chords i still suck
Thank the Lord! My fingers just can’t form the shapes required to play it the other way. Just impossible. You’re a godsend.
"One and two and three and four and." That started making sense to me; I am just a music listener. I don't even play an instrument.
I believe his knickname is the kascading kidd he definately plays a lot of them in his music and probably why it always sounds lively and happy i do dig what youve done with it ,i still working on it and will be forever but damn i just love this tune ( honestly i couldnt stand it ) until i picked up a guitar and started learning ,i came to quickly adore this circus of picking tune thanks everyone
yessss…i HATE barring it kills my arthritis lol
Hi Rob. This is exactly how I play this. I capo to 4 like you and tune down low 6th & 5th to E & B respectively. Works a treat! Thanks for your wonderful post mate. Cheers from sunny Sydney Australia 🇦🇺👋🎸
I'm nearly 70 and have been finger picking guitar since I was 17. I have lost some mobility and strength in my wrists and you made it possible for me to learn and play this beautiful tune.
This piece is one of the most frustrating I have learned. One day I can play is ok with a bit of struggle, the next day I am fret buzzing like crazy.
What a brilliant teacher, I have been playing for some time now, only picking the guitar up when I was fifty. I have loved this tune for many years but the finger picking was always a little advanced for me as I had got into a rut strumming. The sheets of tabs I have down loaded so all good there and followed your picking rhythm, still working on that, so I feel that after time spent practicing I will get there. Can I say that yes there are other teachers giving tutorials on this tune but none come close to your absolute brilliance in getting it over to students.
I'm 72 now Rob. Pulling out the ol' guitar again. Great encouragement ....thank you.!
you don't understand how wonderful it feels to finally learn this masterpiece without breaking my fingers, thank you for sharing everything, lots of respect!
I own the May 1992 Guitar School Magazine with Yngwie and Nirvana on the cover and it has an excellent transcription the same way you play it by Mark Hanson . Relearning it from the same mag as back in 92 , Some music never ages .Challenging tune indeed . Excellent lesson .
You are a life saver. Not only with your brilliant tuning arrangement, but your explanation and notation in the tabs of the exact picking pattern with the timing changed got me playing this song in a few hours. Sounds spot on.
Cheers Rob... all your time, skill and effort is truly appreciated.
You are a beacon of hope. Thank you a thousandfold❤
I tried learning this song from other channels.....very hard. I finally learned it here from Rob with the easy tabs...... this is the best way for sure for me , keep up the great teaching bud !!
