From the end of October to November, I went to the west-central part of Ise Bay in Mie Prefecture for family business. The final timing of the migration season. Since I had some free time, I went birdwatching at the Gonushi Beach and the mouth of the Kushida River. The target is the oystercatcher. Many migratory shorebirds, such as shorebirds and ducks, could be observed on the tidal flats of the Goshu Coast on the sea side of the embankment and on the reed beds along the waterway, but with the installation of solar panels, the number of reed beds has decreased dramatically. Once upon a time, black-tailed sandpipers bred in the waterways. It is said that Chuhi and Brent geese are also rarely seen. The Wild Bird Society of Japan Mie has proposed registration under the Ramsar Convention, but no progress has been made.
