From a $1700 car purchase 3 years ago to making custom switches from a Mercedes-Benz and building up a reliable drift car from junkyards (pick and pull), eBay, and a few quality brands like Sparco, AKG, and ASD.
It has a 3.15 welded diff. Aviel (Shazz) also talks about the lessons he has learned while developing this car like getting proper coilovers the first time around, doing head gaskets in the dry, and getting twin caliper brakes when installing a hydraulic brake. Yes he got a BMW E36 over a Nissan 240 for drifting, and it's been good with stock power!

Elmas Loco it’s acceptable if done right. Obviously it’s not preferable but if you don’t have a cage and harness bar it’s better than nothing. Here’s a link for a good example.

Dream setup with a 4.10 diff
Unfortunately e36 don't come with 4.1 , 3.9 it is as good as it gets!
@@driftergonewild there is even 4.44 we have more options in europe 316i 318i 320i etc. 4.10 is out of a e30 m3 or custom made tho

Sweet car man! But get a cage or get the 3p belt back on the driver's side. 4p belts are cool but if you roll over you body will have nowhere to bend the the roof cave in..
3.15 seems to long, 3.45 or 3.64 would be perfect .

To all the E36 gurus out there, how do you prevent your oil from overheating in a stock engine?
I had a E36 316i which I loved dearly but because of some oil related issues my engine blew 😭. It wasn't a powerful car but it had such a presence even with its 4 cylinders
invest in a aftermarket external oil cooler of some sort
m40 is like the worst bmw engine but still pretty reliable problem is they starve the top end of oil because they get clogged and ruin cams, just preventatie meintenance to help that, if they were abused for the first 200k of their life tho there isnt much you can do

Can you actually lock a hydraulic handbrake so that it works as a regular handbrake when you daily?
yes, some companies have hydros that can lock into place and hold the brake on the rotor.
Just leave it in gear and the welded diff keeps it from moving if it's idling

my aunt gave me her bmw 328i sedan. I have no idea how cars work, but i'm starting to learn from the internet and youtube videos. But where do i start so i can have my car end up something like urs?!
Learn how to drive it well first and then get it lowered. After that get some nice wheels for it

Watch a lot of videos online and find an instructor or friend with a stick car. It’ll take about an hour for you
