Huge help for when doing jobs as a appliance tech. Some floors are hardwood in a kitchen (whhyyyyyy!) And it can take so much time moving appliances rather than the reason your there... to fix them. Especially when the floors been built around the appliance and not under it. So much pain and time spent on just moving the thing. Thanks for the video!
@@Woodified Once took me a hour on a Dishwasher at a customers house. Same thing. Floor was put down after the Dishwasher was installed. Had barely a 1/8th of a inch at the top where the counter was. Fasten the legs back up, which just allowed me to slide similar plastic rails underneath. Had to pull it up on a angle since this DW had legs in the middle as well (just to make it fun... lol) Repeated the same step then was able to get it out. Fun times
That sounds like a good idea. Some old carpet turned upside down and cut into small pieces works too. Just be careful the back feet don't dig into the cushion floor.
There have been supply issues the last 2 years. They don't current have a listing on the US site. But there is a listing on the Canadian site here: amzn.to/3Yy3QC5
Thank you so much for the tip. I need to move a 10kg drum front loader washer to clean the floor underneath. It is in a small bathroom and sits on black glossy ceramic tiles. The washer is very heavy. There is no male help, only my elderly mother. Do you have any tips please? Thank you.
There must be some kind of trade embargo on these glides as all US suppliers wont post them to Oz and there is no local supplier. I might have to wax up a couple of pieces of MDF to move my 90cm oven.
Glide n Guard. You can find them on my Amazon shop under the Home & DIY list here: www.amazon.com/shop/woodified (my Amazon shop is an affiliate link. Using the link helps support my channel and your purchase does not cost any extra)
The sliders are useful for protecting the floor, but I found they were not nearly as easy to use as shown in this video. One slider behaved as shown in the video, but it was difficult to raise the back of the stove to slide the slider under the back contact point since we have an upper oven. The other side was easier to slip under the back contact point, but the slider just slid along the wood floor instead of the stove sliding on the slider (that did the job, but that's not the way it's supposed to work).
Thx for the tip. I actually put furniture sliders under my refrigerator when i had help to move. I finished the project, But now i don't have help. I have the frig in place and now i need to get the sliders out. Again I don't have any help, i can only get to frig from the front. Its a brand new french door stainless ( handles in center) ... I thought I would use a dolly, wrapped so not to scratch anything, but don't know if that will damage the under carriage. I don't want to unscrew the levelers to use the wheels, thoughts?
Sounds like you should raise the levelers and use the front wheels or get some help. If one person can tilt the frig just enough you might be able to use a yard stick to get the back sliders out.) Take your time -it would suck to damage your new frig.
thanks for reply..I did not have the special socket tool to raise the levelers and any help in this town would have cost me too much $ for one minute of work...so i ended up wrapping the dolly and just got as close as i could to the wheels and lifted. with one big toe, I slide out sliders. hopefully i didn't hurt anything under the frig carriage..
Thanks for the heads up. It appears the product might be sold out in the US (could be supply issues related to COVID). I will keep an eye on it. In the meantime I posted an alternative product in the description (amzn.to/2F8zEdB)
That sucks!! I hope you got your stove back in place and can't see the tear. The glides really work well and you could leave them under your stove to make your life easier next time you need to clean behind your stove. amzn.to/2WtzVwK (affiliate link)
Push the track all the way back so it's hits the back foot. Tilt the stove forward and push the track the rest of the way. Having a helper will make it easier.
@@olivierb.9204 explained here: czcams.com/video/DwfWq7MmYUw/video.html or you do the back first and have someone turn the track when you tilt the appliance.
I'm not sure about your stove but mine is really heavy and has a wide base. There is no need for an anti tip bracket on the stove. If your stove can tip over absolutely install a bracket. That would suck to pull out the rack to get your turkey out of the oven and a hot stove tip over on you.
Best video that cam up for moving an oven. Bought from the link below. Thank you for the simple and concise information!

Flooring not going under the appliance would not be fun when trying to move the appliance.

After about ten years, I finally moved our range out to clean the floor underneath and found a family from Yemen living there. The had two dogs too.
I usually find a used car lot.....of hot wheels :)
It happens. 😁
Great video! You are a pretty fast at this. Will pick some of these up today. Thanks.
Glad I could help!
I use an old bath towel, or some thick cloth to place under the front 'feet' to prevent scratching, and to provide a slick surface.
That sounds like a good idea. Some old carpet turned upside down and cut into small pieces works too. Just be careful the back feet don't dig into the cushion floor.
Great video! Those nylon slides allowed me to pull out a 300 lb. "slide in" GE induction range to clean behind it. Thank you!
Glad I could help!
Good simple explanation! I need to buy those guides. Tony
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks, this really helps!
Glad to hear it!
Excellent tip
thanks
Thanks for the great idea!!
Any time!
thank you for the video...... very helpful....
Glad it was helpful!
Great, helpful vdo, thanks! I have to replace my wife's stove, and these slides should do the trick!
Glad it was helpful!
Great video but I couldn't find the link for the glides you suggested??

Thank you
You're welcome
I'm just curious. Did you put any protectors on the legs of the stove? To help with the gliding process?
No. I just used the tracks. The metal feet slide ready good on the plastic tracks.

I wonder if adding something like a strip of hockey tape to the bottom of your slides would be enough to keep the guides from sliding?
Would like to know where you got the tracks thingys

@Woodified will a meter stick work?
Is your kitchen floor vinyl? It is really pretty. If so, would love to know the brand... Thanks
Yes, it is! thanks. Sorry I'm not 100% sure on the brand but I believe it's Armstrong.
Ah... makes sense.. thanks
Can these be left in place rather than install each time you clean or will the appliance weight deform them?
The plastic seems like it would hold up but I've never left them under an appliance for more than a day.
Good tip Better video title How to use slides To move your fridge and Stove I was hoping I wouldn't have to buy anything

Where do u buy the glides, and what are they called on Amazon?😊

Where do I get these gides
I have links to the product in the description along with an alternative product as with COVID there have been supply issues.
Can I try it without stripes...!? I lost my phone behind the counter top... it got stuck 🥺🥺🥺

Unfortunately these tracks are not available in Amazon at this time :(
Since COVID the tracks have been harder to find on Amazon. Hopefully the supply will catch up soon.

How long are the strips?
Each piece of track is 25 1/4 inches and there are 6 in a box. They snap together.
Do you install two permanently under the appliance as in the product description?
I have not. But that is a good idea. It would make cleaning behind the appliance even easier.
