As an fan of the 90s one growing up, this new X-men 97 is hitting it right on all levels , whilst paying homage to the original series but also bring it up to date, as mentioned because the fans have grown up. It is not only amazing animation but amazing television 👏🏻

Gambit fans were riding high on the 5th episode, but as more and more episodes pass without him that adulation will turn to anger as that one episode fix wears off.
As a Gambit fan, I can admit this is true. I miss seeing him. But loving the show regardless!

In most of the other variants he died and became an apocalypse of death but that was a choice,in only version I think his wife died in his place to save him✌️that was the only version they had family and she died not that old to be honest✌️in all other variants they made rogue and that magneto pushing together but God knows why when rogue defeated magneto many times in comics considering what was shown in xmen movie what he did✌️this scene where she was crying actually reminded me of the other version which I went through online just roles reversed😏and there has been two points which has been consistent across the whole timeline that magneto and him were best friends,and Mystique always used rogue
But why ? Why you kill him 😢😡
1) To establish "stakes" (but not really, because everyone who reads comics knows, nobody REALLY dies)
2) To get another "Oh $#!+" moment from the audience when they inevitably bring him back.

would love to hear nothing about gambit ressurrecting until we fight apocalypse and he reveals that he brung gambits body to life as the horseman of death w sinister being war, bastion being pestilence

i know that they are cooking with the story but i feel like if rogue died, they could have got so much more from the death
All i hear is it was in the comics with Rogue and magneto thats one side story but the comics have multiple stories with Gambit and rogue together and how they touch but we pick the creepy storyline to go with was dumb then and domb now

Exactly. Maybe cus he's a cool guy , ladies man archetype that someone on the writing team did not like. I'm speculate that . Plus episode 5 felt like a season finale ending
@rubioalvin that's not even correct. The showrunners have said the point was to fall in love with the character then destroy him. Not everything is "political"

This is almost the same reasoning for what was done to Luke Skywalker... to push the story forward. Whatever man.
Would it have been so hard to title this video, "X-Men 97: (SPOILER) wasn't supposed to die?" for some of us who are a couple of days behind on some of our shows? Some sites just can't be trusted anymore not to give too much away in the captions and it sucks. It's one thing to have things ruined for us if we actively click on a video, but do you really find it necessary to spoil it in the caption?

IT's all very wel being aggressive and saying there's going to be "ramifications" and its a "story propelleant for the rest of the season" but telling stories you need to have some sort of light at the end of tunnel, there has to be some hope and he's not making that clear, if you want to make it all emo and shit that's fine, but the contradictions are real. How is Gambit's death going to have ramifications whatsoever? I will accept it if Apocalypse is about and raises him as Death as that's legit, and once Apocalypse is defeated there's a way to bring back Gambit and reconcile with Rogue and get them married like the comics. If not then it's a let down and a cheap way to get people into this series as there is no mythology being created only quick wins, and also diverging from the comic
