western celebs can clap back and show that they were uncomfortable by the question but I feel like in Korea if idols clap back it may seem “rude” even though they’re in the right and may risk their careers

Honestly, it's kind of perplexing how boring and unimaginative so many interviewers are when speaking to celebrities. It seems like many of them are just trying to get some sort of emotional reaction out of the celebrity by asking obnoxious personal questions. Most of the others just as generic questions the celebrity has answered a hundred times before. I fee like most of these interviewers are just kind of lazy and aren't interested in doing the homework ahead of time to come up with interesting, novel things to ask.
One notable exception is Sean Evans, the host of Hot Ones. He consistently gives the best interviews with the most interesting and well-thought-out questions from any celebrity interviewer I've ever seen.

Yea ofc they aren’t the worst questions in the world, but they are passively rude so that they can still ask the questions. But they all undermine the work that these ppl (especially women) are doing. It’s the fact that they are asking these questions to get smth out of the celebrity so the clip goes viral or smth rather than asking actual important questions

with the women, especially seen in the Scarlet Johansson and RDJ interview, they are often asked about their body way more often than men.
it’s insulting to ask questions insinuating that their body is the ONLY thing they worked on.
imagine putting so much effort into acting and into getting into character only for people to ask you about your body. especially imagine your male costars getting asked about their work while you are asked about your body.

@@aposslex The best kind of talk-back I've heard from a celebrity was actually, ironically, a K-pop singer, Irene from Red Velvet was in an interview with her group and someone, somewhat subtly, was asking her what her sexuality was and if she and Wendy, most of us fans already assume is true, are dating irl, and she calmly just asked him who he liked, with him saying he had a girlfriend, and then she proceeded to calmly say "lets move on?" and they moved on in the interview.
It was very calm, but the way she asked him was very sly.
