Do you have any barefoot shoe "compromises"?

I always go for a padded sole, flexible and padded soles are (in my experience) much safer for MY day to day than no cushioning. I mostly walk 12000ish steps on tarmac and concrete each day.

I get the wide shoebox, but are human feet made to walk on concrete all the time? I wouldn't wear shoes without cushioning when living in a big city.

I've been wearing barefoot shoes for a little over a year and a half. The first 2 months were very discomforting but after that it became very regular. I only wear the insoles if im doing something more impactful like running or hiking long distances.
