I believe you were supposed to use a 6mm "service" bolt to lock the scissor gears on the exhaust cam before getting it out and remove it after both cams are in. Now the scissor gears are offset and the engine will make noise running like a diesel. The scissor gears are tensioned against the intake gear to eliminate the noise.... unless I missed the part u did as I did not watch the whole 17 mins.
Nice vid man. F' em if they can't deal with it. This is a helpful video. I just finished my first 1uzfe yesterday and re sealed the timing tubes.....one of them came apart on me( pain in the ass for real) . Who needs a fancy camera anyway? Thanks
I see him move too , forward then backwards. The red laser light is pointing to two marks, one on top cam and the other on low cam. They match up Before installing top cam he aligned marks then rolled it into place. After tightening down he rotated cams backward to check if marks were still aligned. The marks were far apart and the cams needed rotating to check if still match up. He was rotating cam s after install to make sure he rolled it down into place correctly by checking marks would align. Im thinking the mark at top of gear is at TDC, so he put it back at top again the original spot. TDC.

I’m hoping to build a giant cowboy hat action cam rig

Why did you move the cams back and forth near the end? I plan on doing my gs400 soon and getting some info.

I'm going to sound dumb for saying this but is it just or does the cam seal look like a real main seal for a 2jz? 😂
It's pretty big but I doubt crankshaft output bid.
