    It seems like everyone is blaming Popov. But in my opinion, Popov was just expressing his disagreement with the umpire's decision and asking for an explanation. It's normal, everyone wants to win.
    And Axelsen should have just stayed quiet. There was no need to get involved in the argument between Popov and the umpire.

    The argument was between popov and the umpire asking for a reasonable explanation but technically it’s the umpires call. Axelsen did not want to waste time and didn’t appreciate the tone given to the umpire. Toma’s dad was seriously out of line in interrupting the game before serve and such. Popov was called as crossing the net (though he didn’t) and it may have made more sense to call obstruction of play on Axelsen for blocking the kill. I believe neither should be faulted, but regardless it is Axelsens point for the successful return and popov coach should be fined. So in summary the whole tension is pointless it was victors point anyways.

      Didn't appreciate the tone given to umpire is a bit rich coming from axelsen. As axelsen always shouts and does his antics against the umpire for their calls, especially the service judges. Axelsen should have complained to umpire about toma senior talking, instead of trying to show dominance and speaking directly to toma senior and playing the high moral card of defending the umpire. Toma junior was totally respectful throughout and was only enquiring from the umpire as any other player would do in such situations.

      @@watchman835 Popov senior is not the player playing inside the court. He can do whatever he wants, and the umpire will take care of it as they usually do by issuing warnings. An on court player like axelsen should not interfere and try to be some sort of savior, which he ain't, as evident from his past shenanigans. Players should not try to antagonise their opponents by such acts. But the Danish have a huge track record of such disrespectful behaviour, which is very sad considering they are one of the best countries when it comes to badminton in Europe.

  • @AKSHAYKUMAR-xx2ed
    @AKSHAYKUMAR-xx2ed Před měsícem +5

    Victor's fault for sure. As per rules you can't block your opponet's racquet path as they are hitting the shuttle. This will happen if you preempt your opponent shot at net and stick your racquet in air to block your opponent from playing their shot. It is not allowed.
    Once the shot is played only then you can go for block or return on your side of net / court.

    • @lukeskirenko

      @@lukeskirenko What's even more frustrating that sometimes the judge will allow it as a valid defense and award the point to defending player and on other occasions they will call it as a fault and give the point to the other player. BWF has left to the will of the judge to decide if the net block is valid or not thereby leaving players in doubt whether they can go ahead and engage in block defence or wait until the shot is played at net to react.

    There was no fault, on Popov side, it was Victor who may have faulted.. Uganda Umpires are far better😊.

    Axelsen what a hypocrite! U have done so many antics in the court yourself.
    Also Popov was simply asking his doubt to the Umpire, that's his right to ask. Mr.Hypocrite Axelsen unnecessarily acting as the righteous one.
    And regarding Popov's dad, that's another matter.

    That’s actually heated but why was it popovs fault?

    • @joowsty
      @joowsty Před 2 měsíci +7

      the umpire explains it, he said popov hit the shuttle while still on axelsens side. not sure if it was over the net but its at least what the umpire thought.just to be clear, than it doesnt matter that axelsen maybe did a faulty block.

      Fault of unable to return the shuttle back.The empire should complete sentence.End of story.

      @@DonBhupi umm im sorry but where did you hear that?
      Umpires very often call out 'fault' when players are not able to return the shuttle. Not always ofc but they do it often enough.

    • @DonBhupi
      @DonBhupi Před 2 měsíci

      @@puppy2350 your question reads similar to how Amazon would ask proof for non-delivery of packages. I said the umpires don't call out fault for failure to return. If they don't even call it out, how can I show you?
      Maybe if you can share a couple of videos where umpires call out fault when a player is unable to return the shuttle, that could prove your point.
