  • During the Burolo Noir Festival, on 19 May 2024, the book "The creation of the world and other stories. Myths, fairy tales and legends of the Bai people and the Yi people" by Valentina Canossi (Edizioni Pedrini) was presented with the support of ANGI.
The Festival Noir - Mystery, history and legend - (third edition) was organized by Edizioni Pedrini in collaboration with the Luci Association and the participation of the Medieval Historical group “Lj Ruset” and the “Via Francigena di Sigerico” Association and it is carried out inside Villa Pasta in Burolo.
The myths, legends, and stories of the minorities of the Yunnan region of China, the Bai and Yi peoples, are like a treasure room containing art objects of incalculable value. In the time of globalization and standardization, fairy tales with a mysterious charm echo familiar and traditional elements, which beyond the differences in form, linked to geographical and cultural factors, accompany the reader among distinctive circumstances and elements, which are universally inherent in the genre human. The culture of the Bai and Yi peoples is discovered in the introduction pages, as harmonious as it is compelling, and becomes a current approach to China and the East, as powerful as it is intense and evocative.
