Yeah, unfortunately they're starting to jump in price. I bought mine when it was in ROUGH condition for 3k, and my dad bought a 130k a4 SS for 6k a few years back so they're slowly rising.
I’ve got a well built 98 Z and love every bit of it, body has 50k on it. She’s a rumble class camaro, but thankfully no emission tests where I live and there are a lot of well built cars in my area. Police just give thumbs up while my car is vibrating theirs😄
I had a 95 trans am t top auto, but I was 19 and traded a Dakota for it. Had a Detroit locker, cam swap and 80k original miles. I do want a LS trans am one day. 6 speed as well. I miss it. I'm a ram guy but it's the only car I've ever owned
i dont life in the desert so i dont have issues with the dash, the glue, and i own a euro model so i have different taillights, still have to replace the passenger side window motor tho^^
I have an 02 6 speed t-top black ss. Mine have zero creature comforts and I love it. Btr stage 4 cam, built trans, drag pack, 150 rpm switch nitrous, and sniper intake.
I just installed a complete audio system in my very well built 98 Z28, when I did the door speakers I noticed the track was loose on the windows. That may be something to help, we’ll I hope so
Dash generally wont be an issue unless it sits in Sun most of its life. Plastic will fatigue and crack on parts of the car but the dash is particularly susceptible if the sun just roasts it non-stop. Windows are known issue - GM routed the wiring from the fuse box to the driver side door switch, THROUGH the switch to the passenger door switch/window. In a race your driver side window will always beat the passenger window because by time juice gets there its got so much additional resistance. Poor design, but solvable by doing the relay mod and extends life of your motors.
i hate the notorious window rattle if you have the window just above half way down its either all the way down or up lol my trans am ws6 is awesome tho
Nice review LSXJosh, would you let us know what's the manufacturer recommended PSI for the wheels for your tires ? ( The label on the door ). Because I've upgraded my Z28 rims with SS rims just like your wheels.
Honestly depends on the tires but the general rule of thumb with these cars is 35 on all 4. I run 25 on my rears since they’re nittos and if you run any more than that in them they have a tendency to wear in the center and not the sides.
I have a 98 z28 and i love it.However i have a hard time finding parts?Where do u get your parts? In Calif we have to lock our ttops down because they will be stolen
What's the parts availability for them? I know Drivetrain parts are available as it common, what about exterior and interior parts? I know Chevrolet dealer no longer sells them
just bought my 1999 v6 camaro coupe, love it! however just started with problems. you seem like you know ALOT about this particular car, do you know why it may Crank and Start but will not stay on and dies? thanks in advance, im a few miles away from AZ near joshua tree your whip is sick btw!!
Maf or the fuel pump or the crank sen change the fuel filter also you could have water in the gas... change the charcoal filter of the tank in the map system
There's a re wire kit for the power window motors not getting enough juice. My ws6 was a 98 so didn't have the sail panel issue thank god. On the ws6's the door panels crack the top so at least the Camaro's don't have that issue although my ws6 didn't have that. I think that come from slamming the door. So don't slam f body doors they are big enough! hehe. That's the thing on some stuff that GM did with the glue and rivets everything was done just for speed at the factory no thought about it after. Some other slam issues with the cars but overall they are alright i've seen some real shitboxes in my time lol.
There's a few wiring kits that'll speed up those windows they have cheap factory harness that has low power and makes em slow af lol. I actually like the ride height after a few low car's it's nice not to come at every driveway at an angle lol shit I even raised my STI daily driver lol. My dash os cracked AF too gonna get 1 of the dash caps on eBay for $97 bucks n fix that in 20 minutes. My og sails been solid for 23yrs no bubble at all.. Unlike the rear window tint that shit is hot garbage now but can't blame Chevy for that after market shit it is a bitch to replace though bein so damn big lol.
The first thing my insurance agent asked me when I told him I bought a 97 Z28 was "Is it the SS model?"
It is what it is...at least it looks better then the current generation camaro.
@Ritesh Yadav good point
Yes. Agreed
You must be on crack.
@@jorgediazdelrio9880 I'm at that age where I keep myself out of arguments. if you say 1+1=5 your absolutely right.have a nice day😂
wtf
They are not that cheap now. I picked mine up with 130k miles, LS1/T56 for $7k last year. Really hard to find a decent T56 now too.
Yeah, unfortunately they're starting to jump in price. I bought mine when it was in ROUGH condition for 3k, and my dad bought a 130k a4 SS for 6k a few years back so they're slowly rising.
2 months ago bought a mint 93 z28 with 159k and a 6 speed for 5 grand!
@@kcontv693 Congrats! Sweet pick up!
I picked mine up mine 98 for $6,500 in 2017 and made 380whp. cars are double the price now by me. have a built 408 going in mine soon.
@@lsxjosh4375 few years ? They been high eithe you had the best deal but Camaro for the past 7 years don’t cost less then 7 k with 150 k Miles’s .

Lucky 🍀 what state?
Seriously what state is that right on lol
I have an 02 Z28 currently w 95k miles on it and I love it despite its flaws.

Had a 2002 ws6, miss that car everyday
he is right about tail light lens falling off. and burning oil is normal.
I read that the windows are heavy and that causes the motor to wear out quicker. I got lucky with mine and my dash isn't cracked.

I just bought a 98 triple white SS, love it...
Nice video, I’m still building my camaro on my camaro 🔥
I have a 98 z i have a hard time finding parts.Where do u get your parts
@@stephanielangel2909 what parts are you looking for?
Run a EPR from BG in it before an oil change, it will help with the oil consumption
Good stuff.
Good video. I didn't have the dash issue with any of my Camaros (a '94 Z28 A4 and a '99 SS M6) but the window motors were especially irritating.
I just installed a complete audio system in my very well built 98 Z28, when I did the door speakers I noticed the track was loose on the windows. That may be something to help, we’ll I hope so

Classic industries and hawk's third gen has many f-body parts.

Black '02 SS SLP M6 T-Tops 13K as of 7/2023. Amsoil fluids throughout the drivetrain. I'll never sell it. 😸
What about the rear end?
What kind of exhaust set up do you have in there
Headers, catless y pipe, & corsa catback
You wouldn't believe how much these are worth in Australia, even without RHD conversion
I'll keep it simple for everyone the only thing GM did wrong was not give the SS more HP
Songs in the background is Nickelback - Saturday nights alright, and see you at the Show
Good ear 👏🏼
What do you have done to the exhaust
Pacesetter headers, ory, and corsa catback
I got a 1999 comaro coupe 2d T top
I only got it for $3900 17 thousand on the engine and 130k on the body I got rlly lucky too there’s no rust.

#1 thing to hate about the 4th gen SS…it’s not a Trans Am WS6!
I'm not having much luck finding any 99 to 02 Camaros
Unfortunately they’ve become somewhat scarce and prices have significantly jumped.
Yeah you look more like a Honda or a Toyota guy or maybe an LS in a Honda or Toyota guy
My manual windows roll quicker than that lol😂
Definitely a weak spot on these cars lol
Wonder how much one with under 50k miles would cost mint
Probably 12-18k
u burn a quart every 200?
