    I love Bishop Barron's gift of gab! So blessed with the ability to explain the nearly unexplainable. I still count myself as a new Catholic, even though I converted over a decade ago. It's been a slow process, growing up as a fundamentalist - which never really gelled with me. You make me want to learn Apologetics! SUCH a fan of your work.

    I've been enjoying Fr. Barron's CZcams spots very much. He confirms a trend I've been noticing for years, the movement of many Roman Catholics in the direction of a robustly Biblical Christianity, a shift more publicly on display among the Popes since John Paul. However, for the church as a whole, this has not been the case. What I have observed among the Catholic laity is this. I have several friends who grew up in Catholic homes, but who became Protestant Christians only later in life, and all have told me that in the church of their upbringing they never once heard the necessity of having a personal encounter with Christ, conviction resulting in repentance, conversion, and the newness of life that results. It was only after leaving the Roman Catholic church that they first learned of this and gave their hearts to the Lord. If I could ask Father Barron (as a friend and brother in the faith) to give me his thoughts on this, I would.

      Often the Catholic Laity is often Lazy and Weak in their Faith and so they do not seek God, they expect Him to knock on the door like the Jehovah Witnesses do, people utterly convinced of their ignorance of God. Bishop Barron joins Dr. Scott Hahn, and Bishop Fulton J. Sheen, and Dr. Peter Kreeft, and so many others given the gifts of Wisdom and Faith, and Evangelization by Our Generous and Wonderful Lord. Do as Our Blessed Queen of Heaven said often, Pray The Holy Rosary everyday, that is a way to help these poor people.

    How sad that everyone in the world does not know the Catholic Church, the one and only church built by Christ, just as He said it would be, and built on the Rock that He made Peter to be, and against which the constant unrelenting attacks of satan have no lasting effect. " The Gates of Hell shall not Prevail Against It ! " Jesus said, and Jesus only speaks the truth. What a great blessing and privilege it is be a Roman Catholic and not a follower of lies and false prophets.

    "We need a new apologetics with the New Evangelization". We are massively losing our young people. People have a massive misunderstanding of the Catholic Church relationship with these five things: God, the Bible, violence, science and sexuality. The early part of this video gives great insight on the background of the public ministry of Bishop Barron and Word on Fire.

    Jesus wrote nothing down, nor did He command His Apostles to write anything down, so why would anyone imagine that Christ is found ONLY in a written word ? Only we Catholics know the Traditions of The One True Church, traditions established by the 12 Apostles after Jesus told them to teach all that He had commanded ! If your false prophets don't tell you to trust in the traditions found in the early church fathers, you're not capable of knowing the truth, The Whole Truth and Nothing But The Truth.

    If religion was true there would be no need for a 'new Evangelization' or a 'new apologetics'. The Bible should be enough. The fact is, reading the Bible is the surest way to atheism.

    • @sanjamarija4464
      @sanjamarija4464 Před 8 lety +5

      This is incorrect. Look at a counter argument : If science were true it would provide the knowledge of everything. I am giving a completely unwarranted ad hoc argument/criteria on which I am basing my position on the truth of a system. Something is true regardless of the difficulty or problems with finding its verity. The sentence atoms exist was true way before people took the trouble to verify it by developing optics, microscopes, electric microscopes, integral account, physical mathematics etc. Of you think that reading the Bible is the surest way to atheism you are doing it incorrectly.

    • @davepugh2519
      @davepugh2519 Před 8 lety +1

      Science is simply a method - it does not claim to be true, just the best knowledge we have at the moment. If there is a god and he WANTS us all to know about him, the bible should be enough. if I am reading the bible incorrectly, that is the book's fault - not mine.

    • @KEP1983
      @KEP1983 Před 8 lety

      lol, that logic is obviously flawed.
      First, in order to refute something, you have to refute the argument's actual claims, and not the claims you WISH it was making.
      Second, you claim that the Bible should be all we need, yet the Bible itself doesn't even claim that it contains the fullness of Divine Revelation.
      Third, you assume that the Bible teaches that only people who know the Bible can know God, when the Bible itself says that people both knew and currently know God who aren't explicitly Christian or explicitly Jewish.
      Fourth, the Bible says that God draws ALL people towards Him, and that He's not far from any human.
      Fifth, the Bible uses the Greek word "logos" to describe God-- which was the Greek understanding of the Divine Knowledge (logos=logic) and was accessible to everyone.
      Sixth, the Bible says that this Logos, which is accessible to everyone, became Incarnate in the person of Jesus to make Himself more clearly known.
      Seventh, though anyone can know this Logos in a general way, we can know this Logos more specifically through the information given to us through Jesus.
      Therefore, your whole argument is false, since it assumes that only people who have read a certain book can know God-- a belief that the book itself explicitly condemns.

    • @KEP1983
      @KEP1983 Před 8 lety

      The comment "reading the Bible is the surest way to atheism" is obviously wrong. Most of these internet "new Atheists" are Millennials who become atheists long before they've even bothered to read the Bible, and only read the Bible AFTER having made their decision.
      But I'll counter your claim with a quote from one of the greatest scientists ever-- Francis Bacon "A little philosophy inclines man's mind to atheism, but depth in philosophy brings men's minds about to religion."
      And some CS Lewis for good measure: "A young man who wishes to remain a sound Atheist cannot be too careful of his reading."

    • @davepugh2519
      @davepugh2519 Před 8 lety

      I bet you haven't read the Bible from beginning to end.

  • @NaYawkr
    @NaYawkr Před 6 lety

    The Library that is The Holy Bible must have all the books in it, so if your Bible was cobbled together by a bunch of people in Brooklyn recently, or lacks the Books of Wisdom and Sirach among others, you never read the Holy Bible, only a deceivers version of the Holy Bible designed to deceive you into not following the truth, that is Christ. If you do not believe that Jesus is God Almighty, you follow the father of lies, never the truth. If you don't know that the Romans in the first century crucified criminals on a cross and not a pole, you have no knowledge of human history, much less the wisdom of God. Catholicism funded 0033 by Jesus Christ, and the gates of hell established tens of thousands of their 'churches' long after that to deceive the gullible, the weak minded, the unbelievers. Pray to Jesus for Wisdom, it must be asked for if you expect to find it.
