    I've just bought the pattern off your website and cannot wait to start sewing it. I've never worn an overall before. I thought it was not my style but yours is so nice I had to reconsider. This is exciting!

    Cute pattern. Glue stick or masking tape works better than cello tape as you can iron the pattern after its been folded, if you want to make a second pair.

    This is gold. 😍I can't sew so far but already planned to learn it in winter as I have done quite a bit of natural dyeing and it's the coolest thing then to be able to make your own garments. It always seemed like this difficult, tricky thing to me but with your amazing step by step instructions it looks so easy. Thanks so much for this 🙏🤍
    And if you ever offer an online course about natural dyeing ( your favourite colours or patterns or garment making or anything ) I will be your first subscriber for sure ❤😘

    Do you top stitch the crotch seam as well? How would you be able to do that without a free arm sewing machine?

    • @billynou
      @billynou  Před rokem +2

      Yes I do. I just start at the crotch and do one leg then do the other leg. It’s a little bit fiddly but the legs are wide enough to get to the end 😆

    If I I not have a surjeuteuse, but only a singer sewing machine. Could I use the zigzag stitch to mesure the half centimètre correctly? I would like to perfect these small details because I need to sew some necklines

    Sorry, if this Q is repetitive.. I bought a white linen fabric. Its pure linen and I wanna dye it with coffee powder before I use it.. Do I have to mordant with Alum acetate or Soy milk first? Or can I just soak in water and then proceed to dye? Thanks a lot. Can't wait to try this out.

    • @elizerietberg8883
      @elizerietberg8883 Před rokem +1

      First you need to scour your fabric, clean all the grease out. You can do that with linen just putting it in the washing machine with a little soda ash on more than 60 degrees. Then you can mordant, I usually use alum acetate. Or tannin and later alum. Soy milk I didnt try it yet but I can imagine you use this after alum acetate as an extra mordant to make the colour deeper.

    • @billynou
      @billynou  Před rokem +1

      Hey babe I didn’t measure this piece after washing but it was 2 meters before …. For the s/medium patterns 1.5 meters should be enough as long as it’s wide enough

    I have to call you on ironing safety around kids. I was horribly burned as a kid when I bumped the ironing board and the hot iron fell on my backside. Best to do sewing ironing on a pad on an actual table that can't be tipped and make sure the electrical cord stays on top of the table so baby can't grab it. Sorry. It just gave me the heebee jeebees when I saw your baby crawling under the ironing board. I know every mother thinks nothing bad will happen. My mother certainly felt that way, but a little care prevents big problems.

    • @billynou
      @billynou  Před 11 měsíci

      Hey love. Thanks for your concern but please don’t assume that I am not hyper aware of the dangers of hot and cold irons on an ironing board or that I have not considered exactly where she is and what she’s up to in relation to the iron. These are seconds from an edited video that do not show the whole picture. I also absolutely do not think that nothing bad would ever happen 😉

    should have been better if you use a pattern paper that you do not
    need to do a jigsaw puzzle! just saying!

      Thanks but I’m actually not a professional pattern maker and feel very proud of myself for even managing to get my pattern converted into a printable version… maybe one day I’ll convert to a larger format but also, often people prefer to print on their home printers too 🤷🏽‍♀️
