Yeah man. My first acoustic, took it to a “professional luthier” at a guitar shop called “Hot Licks” (hey, it was the 80’s) Instrument was never the same. Never played as well. Vowed after that I’d learn to do all of my own guitar work. No one will take better care of my guitars than I will has been my motto. You’re lucky to have true pro choices there in Nashville. Love the channel.

You’re making that strat sound great. I’m an amateur luthier and it’s always great watching a real pro at work Great vid!!

I understand sentimental attachment to a musical instrument. I'm the same way. I have far far better Guitars then my first one but that Guitar is special to me. I played that thing for hours at night in my bedroom as a kid growing up. Most people would categorize it a Wall Hanger but I love the old thing. It brought happiness to my life. Wow I love this latest idea of yours to take us to visit see a Nashville Luthier, far out. You come up with great ideas on your channel. So interesting to see a great craftsman work at his task. The knowledge they have is mind blowing!

He would be the guy to learn from. Especially because he seems very willing to teach. Good on you Shawn 👍

I really like the tobacco burst strats. They're timeless.

PS. Kudos for giving props to the guys behind the scene. Every serious player needs access to a great tech. Maybe a bit harder to find here in Toronto than in Nashville it seems 💙

Bought a couple RoadieMade pedalboards from him years ago. Great products and he was always willing to help you with what you needed. Thanks for sharing this!

What genius idea of swapping the frets like that and putting the new one up where it doesn't get used smart guy.... Does that have the skunk stripe? usually they can cut that out with a router to replace the truss rod. Otherwise it's heating and very carefully prying off the fretboard which definitely can get spendy.

    Strat sounds good.
I'm like you...hate tuning down to play in Eb. Better to have a guitar permanently there...more stable. You have great dynamics in your playing. Makes me realize I have to work more on mine. Thx! Love&Peace from Canada 💙

What a noisy shop. I couldn’t work like that. Luthiery involves noisy tools sometimes but damn to endure that racket all day it sounds like a factory. Poor dude.
