They put me with airman pact and I’m a little nervous don’t think I’m smart enough for that
Do not EVER think your not smart enough. Your ASVAB line scores clearly say you are. Jobs will
Not become available to you unless your ASVAB line scores match up with that job.
I’m in the same program bro you got it hands up or down foo 💯🤘🏾
@@ZENEZ hi i score a 61 on the asvab and I enlist as an E3...i wanted an i.t job but it wasn't available... so my recruiter gave me seaman pac he said that I will stay there for a couple of months since am E3 going E4 then I get to pick a job I want .. does this make sense
Can you do an update bro I’m going to meps and I’m thinking going that route because the job I actually want I have to be a citizen to get
Awesome! I retired as an HMC. Yes making rank is important but, the daily job you do is your future. Now and later. Loved your sea stories. I did the deck jobs as well but those jobs rounded me out for a wonderful 23 year Navy Career of fun and adventure.Seeing the world thru the lens of the Navy has made me a better person. I love wacthing your videos and learning the new Navy thur your eyes. Success to you always and Stay Sharp.
Definitely helped me gain a better understanding 🙌🏾
this helps a lot I’m going in as a seaman pact !! I ship out January 6 thank u !!!
This video makes me feel better.. I’ve heard so much bad stuff about being undesignated and I was even thinking about changing before shipping out... but I don’t know if that’s going to be a hassle. I am going in as a pact airmen! Thank you for the encouraging words to push through!
What’s your experience with Airman Pact? I ship out July
Thank you soooo much!!!! This was what I needed to hear💜
Your very welcome ☺️
So informative thank you I’m looking to go in In month and this is helping me make choices about my job
Pact seaman contracts now are
You’re “12month” then pick a job (you might be able to get rate earlier )
Your contract is 3 years
A lot of people finish the 3 then dip😂
Is it really 3 years? Even if you pick a rate?
nicolas omez yes it’s 3 year contract
When you strike a contract you start a new one.
@@ChristhianGT Its different now. I know someone that dropped from buds and did about 9 months as an a-pact and picked up an aircrew contract. They only made him extend 2 years on top of the 4yr contract. However the 5 months that he spent at buds counted towards his airpact 4 year contract.
Some people got 4 some firemen got alot more than that
Are you still in IRR after the 3 years lol?
Almost signed pact seaman lol.... dodged a bullet. Ended up signing for GSM. Ship july 1st for boot... sooooo EXCITED!!!!
Very helpful to those who chose PACT. I’d like to add that it’s best to choose a rate before shipping. Like her, I wanted HM and never got it. Submit DAR now with your recruiter if you fall into this category. Recruiters are scammy.
This was pretty cool i feel like i wanna talk to someone directly abt what i want to do in the navy and all that i didnt think i would lean to navy out of all the military but yeah
Thank you so much!!!!!! This was soooo helpful💜
one of my friends was a pact SN for 12 months before getting lucky and “striking”CTR. going pact is never easy but it made him appreciate his job as a CTR after striking it
Do you happen to know his ASVAB score?
I have done so much research on Navy life through your channel as I am trying to enlist this month! My recruiter was telling me about this program but still unsure! I really don’t wanna be stuck with a job I don’t want
Any updates on your enlistment? How was meps
I’ve been watching you before I even decided to go to MEPS. I’m stuck on becoming an OS or a QM but as of yesterday I’m going in as Undes..because it was all that they had available by the time they were processing me. Thanks for the heads up with this video and I plan on making this experience count. I ship 6/7 as an E1.
How did it go for you? I ship out 06/05 of this year I wanted to be YN or OS & neither were available so I’m going undes…
I take my hat off to you because undesignated is a very hard dirty job that makes a lot of people quit the navy. I was in the Marines and seen the undersigned chipping paint on the side of a ship.
Thank you for this video I just signed yesterday and this was the job option I picked
How is it I’m chose thid job as well
Awww another wonderful video
On the day of MEPS my mind was set on going PACT Seaman, however when I was eating my sandwich lol something in my head told me to pick a rate. Ended up picking YN instead. Shipping May 5th!
Thank u so much for this video I swore in yesterday!!
Think you for this video, I’m joining the pac airman program and now at least I have an idea of the pac programs
this is so helpful, I am shipping out as a Seaman PACT.
Your welcome; and good luck
Yaas bb now I wanna do OS. as soon as I saw the pic i was like thas ma guuurl. love you boo.
the 3 year PACT is nearly what national call of service was work for few years and get your GI bill
the program changed so a seaman can go engineering/airman and engineering can topside/airman and airman can go vise versa.. which is really exciting I suppose. im not too happy I came in without a rate but im happy with my choice in the end and I wouldn't change it if I had the chance
That’s really good that you can cross over like that! When I went in I could only go the Seamen route
So you switch to Airman
@@theotheo3428 no, I'm an OS- I stayed topside/sea rate
I just signed for pact today. I’m coming in as an E3. Hopefully I do my 9 months and get to choose the rate I want. Thanks for this video, I really needed it.
Hi how’s everything rn? Im coming in as e3 too si was wondering what happen? Do you have a rate already?
@@carlat4187 have you shipped, yet? Because I recommend choosing a rate rather than go undesignated.
@@jackydspades hi i just got out of bootcamp, if you can change it, change it
@@carlat4187 was it really that bad?
@@annaleeaguilera428 still at c school but i wont be on a ship so we’ll see
I was jealous of my OS friends leaving work all refreshed while I was in the hangar bay jumping material sweating my butt off 😩😂
Thank you 😊
You look sooo pretty
Hi zenez first you are so pretty and thank you for this. Short story, Yesterday they told me the os rate is sold thought i was leaving for camp next week and ask me if i want to be sn or be discharged from the navy i picked sn pact. I did some research and they said at least 2years as sn, but im coming in as e3 so i have to be undesignated for like a year? Before i can strike for a rate? Is that right? And thank you so much again, Because of this vid i feel better, i was actually ready to let the navy go. I just think two years is a long time.
Thank you the info
Hello Zenez, I’m undesignated, and came in as e-3 like you. I striked last july but wont advanced until May. My question: for pact sailors, are we eligible for Nwae (E5) the same year we got frocked? Or we have to wait another year to participate in nwae? Thank you for your videos and information it helps a lot.
Cool.
Did you go directly to OS scholl after you got your rate, or did you have to wait?
I’m going to MEPS tomorrow and qualify and want to do MA. But the problem is I have hearing loss in my left ear. I was wondering if SPACT could possibly increase my chances of getting MA while in the Navy. I sign my contract tomorrow and stuff I’m just worried MA won’t be there despite me qualifying.
So I’m about to go to A school for seaman pact and I’m worried because I don’t wanna fail and I heard there’s test and knot tying test where you have 10 minutes to tie knots and I suck at knot tying! What knots are there and how worried should I be if I suck at that
Funny how we have almost the same story.... started out as undes sea and became an OS not bad. We are almost the same wanting HM went undes and make OS.
Everyone saying they hate it oh my god what did I get myself into
Hello Zenez, This is so helpful, thank you so much for sharing! I'm shipping out soon as Seaman PACT because the job that I want was not available, quick question, did you get an enlistment bonus when you started as Seaman Pact Undesignated? I'm looking forward for your response. Thank you so much...
I definitely didn’t get any bonuses lol . That’s something new that they’ve been doing
What is your ship date? i ship as a Seaman PACT march 17 Goodluck to us! 😆
I go to Basic training Jan 9th and I am an PACT seaman
Thank you for the information as i am coming into bootcamp march 3rd, and u are very pretty if no one has told u
spongebob squarepants Congratulations 🎉🎊🍾🎈 And good luck!! Your ship date is right around the corner! 😍🤍
nice video keep working no cap
There’s also the construction rates
Might have to ask my recruiter about this. I did shitty work for 2 years as a labor. I think I could do another 2 lmao
I have a question about SN do you have to strike for the jobs that are in that list or can you strike for jobs outside the SN list
Leaving in November in the Pact Program. This was super helpful. Where did you go for deployment?
I made a few vlogs of some of the places I’ve been but a lot, Dubai, Italy, Greece, Spain, Ireland, Bahrain, Oman
Leaving November too for the same. I was so mad when they said PACT but this video def helps!
Keri Tee I’m actually leaving earlier than expected. More than likely at the end of the month 🥺
COLORMEKINS how did that happen!!? I asked my recruiter to get me to leave in September. Are you ready? Know ur book? Lol
How long does it take to be in the pact
Hi, I just enlisted as a pact seaman E1 yesterday and my husband is currently in the navy and he's telling me that after you pick your job after a year , you get automatically get E-3 ? Is that true
I had my heart set on the Air Force, but I got disqualified for my eczema. I chose the Navy because it was my second chose and their more lenient with this. I also don't have the best eyesight so that makes my options slim. I will leaving in April and I signed up for this program and it's 3 years. Will i doing this for the entire 3 years or just a year? I don't know too much about the Navy and the jobs, but I like law and the medical field.
I also am going in as E2 because I have some college credits
so when you went to VA, is that where you deployed? Like did you stay there or were you out in the sea?
I was out at sea in the Middle East and in Europe when I was deployed
I have two questions, 1) Does this Pact program apply to individuals who would already be an E3 coming into the navy?
2) When you finally get to choose a rate and if its a success, they just place you with that rate without taking an exam??
1) yes I was an E3 as a pact 2) depending on the rate, some rates require school but if not then you’ll just be in the rate and learn on the job
@@ZENEZ for 2 question Can i apply for school even tho its not required?
Still confused about how the S-pact contract work after you go for a rate. Do you continue from the 3 years of S-pact and finish that time or do you make a new contract with that new rate?
You finish the time off. You don’t have to sign a new contract unless the new job you choose requires you to go back to school and depending how long they A school is . But you’ll know that before you pick that job
I’m going in as Pact soon. You say you get to pick any job, i want MA really bad for my future goals is that one of the jobs they let you pick?
Me too, I'm going in as pact
Hey , i swore in yesterday as a SN Pact, whenever i can strike a rate , does my asvab score counts towards the rates i strike ? Or can i just work in towards the rate i chose? For example i was 15 pts off OS but thats a rate ik for sure ill strike towards
Actually yes, ASVAB scores follow you through your entire career, my recommendation. After your already at your command talk to your NC (navy counselor) at your command and get on the list to retake the ASVAB . Study for it tho! So that way your score can be way higher and when it’s time for you to choose a rate you’ll have way more options
@@ZENEZ | Oh Lord 🤦🏽♂️, Is SN Pact actually that bad? 😭 like will i have a good work schedule & everything?
@@ZENEZ | And so i can retake the asvab in the navy? Before i get to strike?
Your work schedule is gonna depend on your ships schedule , honestly your whole time in the navy what you do is gonna depend on your commands schedule . And yes you can retake the ASVAB after your already in the navy
I'm going as a pact seaman I ship off February 4th
How’s it going
I signed a contract with the seaman pact program because their was no other jobs and I wanted to be an HM, but since I found out they rank slower I’m gonna keep the contract and pick the job as an HM thru the pact
Quick question 🙋🏾♀️ how early can you pick your job as a undesignated seamen ?
They change the instruction on this like every year. As of right now I believe it’s 9 months , but I honestly could be wrong
What if you don’t want to strike a rate ?
How do you get from pact to os. I’m going in as a pact hope j made the right decision
Once it’s time for you to strike your career counselor will help you choose a rate
You didn’t lol
I'm going undesignated as well I'm try to go c side so I can be a corpman
Seaman, airman, and fireman, but no earthman T_T
lmfao
Do you want to become an officer? Also is it better to try to become an officer during the navy or get your degree before you go in?
I have no aspirations of being an officer. And for that it depends on the route you wanna take
I’m shipping out as a A-PACT on the 30th of June 2021
Airman July 12 A-PACT a little sad about my future and the 9 months
Good luck
If you're a Nuke drop even with a degree and a 99 on the asvab you will become a pact seaman. No probs but just to let everyone know lol.
whats a nuke drop?
Hello I singed for A-PAC at E-3 rank because I wanted to go for AC initially but I couldn’t make it because of my citizenship status. I had a good score in the asvab which I was told qualifies me totally for it at MEPS. My question is how soon can I get to to pick that rate after I get my citizenship. Do I still have to wait 18 months or I can strike faster??
Hm, honestly I’m not exactly sure I’m not familiar how the citizenship thing goes but I can ask
Okay, kindly ask for me pleass
I’m having the same problem :( any updates?
when do you choose your job? and when do you get the chance to see other jobs? I’m leaving in October, seaman pact.
Once you get to your new command your command career counselor will set you up with all that information
@@ZENEZ okay great, thanks!
Do you have any advice for future MA’s? I picked my job this Thursday and I’m a little nervous about my job 😬😬
Ilyana Reyes Check out Aniyah Baregu’s channel. She’s a MA. But make sure you keep coming back to view Zenez’s vids! 😍🤍
Get used to standing for twelve hours in the sun holding a gun. Also your more likely to be stationed on shore commands. Overall it's a chill rate.
While you were working...you said you were able to go to school. What do you go to school for? And did you get your degree?
Still working on my degree because I changed my major like 3 times ,
So i signed as a pact sn and im worried that im not gonna get a rate after my 1 year, so my question is will I actually get a rate
Yes you HAVE to pick a rate eventually, you can’t be a pact forever
Do you have to have a certain ASVAB score to strike rates while undes? They told my nephew not necessarily and that he could even take college courses with the navy college if he was interested in a certain rate to qualify to retake the asvab while undes. Is that true? He's PACT seaman and in boot camp now.
Yes that’s true
@@ZENEZwait so you do need to have a certain ASVAB? So you already had the appropriate line scores & etc to qualify for OS before you strikes?
You are so pretty my love❤❤
Thank you love
Thank you love
Aye before y’all Join the instruction changed so now you can strike any rate as long as you qualify
So I’m undes air but I’m striking OS
Is this true? I’m undes Airman and I want MA
@@JV-ij3rz yes just gotta qualifiy and it gotta be open
Omg thanks for this info. i was frustrated since yesterday when i found out that they cant change my rate and have to go sn pact I thought i had to do 2yrs or more. Coming in as e3 since December I tried to changed it, but they kept on pushing jobs i dont want now ended up as sn pact. So frustrated i am thinking if this is still for me. I know it will happen again the day i have to chose rate. So how long you have to be undes? Like estimate?
This is random because your video just popped up but my ex navy boyfriend ended things with me cause he recently got promoted and left the barracks to an apartment and basically said he wants to be single cause he can mess around with whoever he wants now that he has his own space
That’s crazy , smh
Zenez Belalcazar all these navy videos pop up because I had to learn about it myself since he never wanted to talk about it prolly cause we were long distance and he never took me serious 😓
GabbyBabbyy He’ll get what’s coming for him! Learn yourself, learn to love yourself, stay focused on your goals and don’t stop until you reach them! 🤍
Tinka Mitchell thanks for the kind words ❤️ I’m trying
my love
What if “A” school is not offer when you’re going is a pact seaman does that make things harder?
No, not every rate requires A school. I didn’t go to A school when I picked OS
After a year when u choice your job do you pick or they pick for you?
You pick
Even if u didn’t qualify for say gunners mate but u do the seaman pact can I still get the gunner mate rate if I choice that job when I finish the program? And is there a test to get that job idk how it works
Do undesignated live on the ship?
Not necessarily. All rates are treated the same , undesignated or not, you will receive housing / barracks / ppv
What rate was it when you went to Dubai ,Italy ,etc ?
What do you mean ?
It’s also a way to MA, Master at Arms!
Is it really? Becuase I think I want to go PACT but it if I can strike into MA
@@katiebaudino3666 it’s possible
Do Gunners Mates make rank quickly..? that’s the rate I picked (leave August 11th)
They make rank quicker than corpsmen
I scored 15% on asvab but they give me a PACT, im just nervous because I don’t know anything.
What are you talking about not making rank? my OOD and Brother Division RDC was a HM-CPO!
It was a generalize statement lol. It takes HMs longer to make rank. Thats good for him tho , thanks for sharing
Do you regret pact seamen ?
No
How busy are you as an A-PACT or any PACT? Are people there too busy all the to text? Just curious :)
It depends on what work you have to do , but tbh if your only concern is being able to text during work then idk what to say to that lol
@@ZENEZ I’m asking because I’m a civilian talking to a guy in the navy 😂 ty
Do you have to test for those jobs if you go in as a seamen pact program
No test but some jobs require you to go back to A school
@@ZENEZ so after I reach e-3 I will pick a rate an that will be my main job
What is it like being undes seaman on a deployment?
Just failed out of Corps school and signed for Seaman PACT. Think I'm gonna try to strike RP.
Hey where’s the link?
I just added it , sorry about that love
The link???
I just added it sorry about that !
What i am coming in as a E3 , how does it work? Do i strike rate after 6-9months
No you just get paid more for the next two years. You pick a rate after a year and after that you wait another year on whatever department they put in. Biggest advice make sure your asvab qualifies because you won't be able to strike your desired rate. What's your pact? Like s,e,a pact?
@@ismaelramirez1258 SN
@@jmo3videoandmore21 my advice is get the rate you want right now at dep. Now if you go undesignatd change it to A pact or E pact. You'll learn a rate instead of painting with the BM.
@@ismaelramirez1258 is it possible to retake the asvab while i am undes. Or no?
@@ismaelramirez1258 i wanted MA or OS but didnt qualify..
Can you go in as a pact fireman for the 3 years of you contract ? As in you stay as a pact fireman for 3 years and get out
No ma’am
I’m pact/fireman I wanna strike mm I ship feb7
i think its best i go in for a naval officer after i get a degree & graduate OCS i think i’ll be 21 or 22
JonNeutron VLOGS That’s the best thing for you!!!! 🤍
Find a NROTC program in your state or elsewhere. You don’t have to go the OCS Officer accession pathway. Remember that the Navy is a hierarchical organization where it’s officers are it’s pentacle. Therefore, as such officers are also viewed by their particular Officer accession pathways: USNA, NROTC, and OCS. NROTC grads have surpassed USNA in every metric due to their engineering, IT, cyber security, technological business, nursing, medical based degrees. Besides while as a NROTC Midshipmen, you’ll be paid monthly. Plus, you’ll also be immersed in naval science. So explore this outstanding option offered to you.
You are going to get the shit jobs even if you go in with a designated rating! E3 and below, you will be scrubbing shitters, swabbing decks, chipping paint or whatever they need a “warm body” for. You will spend at least 90 days in “First Louie” or doing “mess crank” duty in the galley. If you are an “Air-dale” in a squadron, you will spend at least a year in the “Line Shack” before you go to the “shop” commensurate with your maintenance rating (AT, AE, AM, AD, Etc.).
Air-Dale is the best or at least it was for me but it all depends on what you want to do.
Seems that Non-designated Seaman would provide the greatest opportunity as your first duty station could be a ship, squadron, construction battalion or whatever. Airman will get you in a squadron or “bird farm” where you will be dragging around chains, handling and washing aircraft, and so forth. I cannot imagine anyone wanting non designated Fireman as you are locked into being a “Snipe” and never again seeing the light of day but I have had a few approach me about how they could escape their “Hell” and become an Airdale and it is doable as back in my day, you could put in for an “A-school” after some time in the fleet.
Perhaps things have changed since my time in but as I recall, the color of your E2/E3 stripes did not limit or lock you into what you could ultimately become. The main factor was type and mission of the command you would find yourself in.
Alot of your stories will prolly go a lil sumpn like this, you wanna join the navy your unqualified for the job you join undes so you can work towards that job you go to a ship expecting to work with diffrent rates like the recruiter told you to, however your now im deck department busting your ass day in day out. Painting ,sanding, cleaning and taking out trash. Then one day a week or more you have to spend a full 24hrs on the ship to stand watch hopefully you dont get the 0200 to 0700 cuz more than likely youll be working through the next day with little to no sleep rinse and repeat till they send you on deployment where they get to work you as long as they want with the exception of watch time which you will stand watch every day eventually its time to "stike a rate" if the rate you want /originally discusses with your recruiter pops up good for you if not mayne your still dont qual or the navy doesnt need personel in that field you can wait another month and try again or give up pick a job sign away an additional 2 or more years of your life away but yeah your not a BMs bitch any more and you got free pettyofficer. PICK A RATE FUCK THAT RECRUITER
Yikes on the inro.
Undesignated worst thing to do in military. Navy only branch where your only job is no job. I would hav just rather been an eod and got seperated than fail my dive program and go undesignated and botswain mate. Total waste of years . I learned nothing to take back to the civilian world
It’s unfortunate that your experience wasn’t a good one, me on the other hand had a great experience . 7 years in and I’ve gained so much experience and knowledge even with being undesignated my first 3 years. Just here to share that not everyone’s experience is the same . It’s what you make of it (:
Well happy u had experience granted it’s different from command to other commands but from I saw and experienced they just warehousing good talent. I had high azvab score and was an 800 division, college and they put me in bowls of ship swabbing decks and painting. Should have had me out in the fleet doing something meaningful like Seabee, coreman, anything something with real training and skill sets
They also literally do it bc it’s cheaper labor than hiring clean up from civilian world
