Wow! Thank you guys so much for an amazing review! 🙏🏼
Thanks for the amazing app!
Have to admit. This is nice. Thanks for the shout out.
so glad you covered a multi machine setup
Great job Mojaxx!! I’m super into streaming! I stream at least 4 times a week. Three times from home on my channel and once a week on a channel I share with my dj partner from our weekly residency at a speakeasy here in Las Vegas.
I appreciated twitch during Covid no doubt. But I still see it as a way to expand my brand’s reach, get my name out there, collaborate with peers, break records and discover records.
I’m always looking for ways to improve my stream and add value for anyone that’s listening actively in the chat or lurking. I’m happy to see you cover software and gadgets related to streaming. Please keep it up! ✊🏽
I LOVE TWITCH! I did things a bit backwards... I didn't hop on Twitch when the pandemic started, I started last last year after the live-streaming momentum slowed down. I was unemployed at the time and my wife discovered it. She convinced me to get on and I was hesitant because I thought you had to have top of the line equipment and I almost thought about quitting Doing. She was on Twitch networking for at least 8 hours a day while I looked for jobs during the day and networking with her at night. We spent our last $25 to get a ethernet adapter. Within a month or two, we made it to affiliate. Almost a year later, I have a job and I still stream at least two days a week! Live-streaming kept us occupied during a dark time in our lives, so I'll forever be grateful for the platform and the dope DJ community I've met in the process. All that being said. I'm definitely about to use this Now Playing app!
At least three 2+hour streams a week, watch a lot of other DJs streaming. Not making much money from it, but that doesn't take away from it. Dj twitch is seriously one of the most positive friendly places on the internet. Built a fancy coffin/box for my turntables and everything. I used the first Now Playing for a while, switched to a locally scripted system to show current/last track, but have now switched to just screengrabbing the title areas out of Serato directly.
Love streaming. I’m more of a hobby streamer but love doing it when I make the time. Still feel it is the way of the future and still misunderstood by most people.
I began streaming on Twitch in March 2020. Nearing 3 years now. 3+ streams a week. Multiple genres. It's been pretty dope. The Twitch DJ community continues to grow, even though most of the world is now back to normal.
What a lot of DJs don't realize is the potential to gain a new fan base, and community of supporters from all over the globe and receive feedback in real time, all while playing your favorite music, and in some cases, the ability to monetize. Ita been a dope experience for me.
P.S. I just purchased the Pro version and am currently configuring it for my streams. Looks amazing. Thanks for the detailed information.
Update: Fixed some bugs in 2.1.1 including the localhost/IP issue mentioned around 12:01 in the video.
Twitch Massive!!! Thanks so much for bringing light and helping out not just dj's but streaming as a whole @mojaxx Much love sir!
I'm a newbie DJ that got inspired to finally drop some money on gear and start learning due to seeing all of the amazing DJs on Twitch during the pandemic. I watch streams regularly - usually various trance or psytrance DJs, but it's fun bouncing around to see the amazing wealth of talent on the platform. I'm hoping to start my own channel and get streaming once I feel comfortable enough!
Thanks for the great review, been a big fan of Triode for a while now and I'm thoroughly impressed to see how his app actually works behind the scenes.
it was nice to see my emote on the last shot !! I'm taking a break from streaming at the moment because its summer and its nice to be out! still doing the odd one here and there and watching as and when. September I'll be back on twitch with a new schedule \o/ :)
Thank you... Added this today after seeing your video.. Looks awesome!
Wikked heads up on this product! I have been waiting for something like this to work with Engine DJ.
Thanks
Nice one, thanks for the shoutout and all that you do!
This looks way better than the twitch plugin I've been using. I'm excited to try it with my stand alone Denon gear!
Great shout on this sweet little app Mojaxx. I'm still regularly streaming weekly and sometimes stream from the bar if its a busy night. Big ups and a huge thank you for the raid the other Thursday. The ASIO OBS plugin for dual stream setups is a great little find too. Thanks for passing that one on to Disco.
Great review, I hadn’t heard of this software before I saw the video! Have a few troubles with my Denon SC/LC setup, have hopped on the Discord so hopefully we can figure out how to fix it 🤞
Awesome video Mojaxx! I will give Now Playing 2 a try and see how it will be fitting for our Livestream shows. To answer your question about Livestreaming, yes! We as a DJ Duo have 3 shows we do on Twitch on a monthly basis. I am working to revamp my vlog every Monday on Twitch, Facebook, and CZcams. I am also going to work on having one of our DJ shows air on FB and YT as well as Twitch via Melon. The reason CASM ( the DJ Duo I am in) still does Livestreamng is because of 2 things: creativity and time. Even though there are a vast number of DJs who are playing us again, there is a large number who are not. Mostly the upstarts and intermediate DJs have days jobs and didn't want or are not ready to jump the full-time DJ route. You can blame them. Covid saw the closing of all venues and festivals for 2 years. No one was playing which means no DJs were getting paid. We started in 2019. As we were gaining ground, 2020 happened. We went to Livestream and haven't looked back. In our case, we had no choice. We have days jobs and my DJ partner is married, works, and goes to school. Streaming works in our schedule and it allows us the freedom to play what we want. I also watched other DJs in their Livestreams. Still, big names and Louie Vega, DJ Spen, and David Morales still have their Livestream platforms. Twitch, even though have done some mis deeds they are still the best place for Livestreaming. I wish Mixcloud Live would get their act together but they are taking their sweet time and their platform are so far behind.
I love twitch. Community. Music. Fun. Super simple.
Love our twitch DJ community and your streams are great! Thank you for the amazing reviews.
O im getting this
This is very cool
Started week 1 of lockdown, did 6 months weekly but financially buying new tunes and not earning killed me off.
Ran a load of cables and built a new DJ booth where I play every Saturday whilst it was closed and now stream my set live every week from there. Also still got my home set up and I do random streams from there but nothing regular. My Sat gig fills that spot.
Streaming when I can, Streaming from LIVE gigs always, Streaming before the pandemic, and will stream FOREVER
Great Video Mojaxx ---- i have been on the fence about adding stuff like this to my streams ( currently 4 days a week - Tuesday to Friday 10am til noon est)
Wicked video! How do you like that atrak dj mixer?
Dope review I’m try it
Shout outs to my homie Rob (Mr Lob) the 45 kings Dj!
Can you guys do an update on the ins and outs of streaming surrounding copyright issues specifically?
Thank you. Same for me , streaming live DJ mixes on my channel (Twitch and youtube) , using free now playing, serato, serato vidéo, ndi with multiple computers, effectué and need a motorized slider as well. Now playing which is working perfectly for my use. Tested : all thé song titles are not displayed , compared to now playing.
Update : After tests with triode (version bêta 2.1.2), everything now IS displayed, even songs with no méta data : serato DJ pro :
czcams.com/video/huEPJQPzrUI/video.html
i went from pro link to now playing....cant live without it now. my live streams are better for it.
Does this work with older versions of Rekordbox i.e version 5.8.6?
It doesn't work for me! 5:47 It does not display anything in OBS. I also don't have the different overlays in the list, only ASOT, but that doesn't work either!
Please help!
Wish there was an option to output to NDI/Spout/Syphon…. Browser source in Resolume is a non starter….
NDI Source would be a great option to have.
I don't have a license to use NDI. However, I'm already working on OSC support for use with Resolume and others. Please join the discord cause I could use feedback as I'm building it.
@@Triodeofficial happy to join up, have you got a link??
@@Triodeofficial and thanks for responding!! :-)
Also. If you *REALLY* want to use NDI you can: Now Playing > OBS Browser source > NDI Plugin output .... not ideal, but it works(tm).
need help on why is beat source not show on my deck i try clearing the cache
I have it working but its painfully slow in updating the current track if it doesnt get stuck on a track title for ever....at my wits end on how to solve it.
Edit: 'Had" it working, it now never updates the current track and is displaying track info from a previous session.
I know this is an older video, but I was wondering if anyone who still uses this can help me? I'm trying to get rid of "(Original Mix)" from my track titles. I can remove the "Original Mix" portion but the "()" still shows up. Not sure how to write the expression that would get rid of the entire thing.
Localhost from one computer to another is technically weird because localhost literally means itself same as using the IP 127.0.0.1. It's cool that it works... It just shouldn't. It's like writing your apartment number on a delivery but somehow the UPS guy knows you're at your neighbor's place and knocks on that door instead.
Any one else having issues opening the link to Now Playing2?
@7:27 "Iphone with Serato Dj pro?"
Hiya guys, Ok what i dont get... Is I DONT use any software inbetween the decks to broadcast, what i mean is i DONT use Pioneer Rekordbox. i just broadcast directly to Mixcloud using Streamlabs will nowplaying2 still work how will it get the track information from Each Pioneer nexus2 im using, does nowplaying2 just guess? the track i.d or.... what can someone explane if i install the nowplaying2 software will it just work out the box plug n' play, do i have to have somthing working with this, i dont use or have Sarto or any premium pioneer rekordbox software, my decks are just linked directly via my PC on-board Soundcard nothing fancy ?
Nice app. I'll def be using it at some point. I used to stream once or twice a week but since I started DJ'ing out I rarely do now. Mostly for 2 reasons: 1. Setup and teardown of my equipment between gigs and streaming is a minor hassle. And 2. streaming to nobody after all that setup makes it feel not worth it. I do enjoy it overall and miss it.
I followed Mojaxx's instructions verbatim and for some reason, the software is showing titles of songs I'm not even playing. It was able to show some songs that I played fine but at the moment, its showing songs I don't even own or play. I wish I could upload a screenshot illustrating what I'm talking about! It seems like its showing titles of songs from someone else's playlist.
Things to note: using a windows PC, Serato DJ Pro... btw, when I installed the Windows version and checked the settings, it shows that my trial subscription ended on August 1st, this is the first time I ever downloaded and used this software so I was surprised that its indicating my subscription ended on August 1st, 2022
@@phunkyflip8186 You are using an older beta version. Beta testing ended Aug 1st so that's why it says Trial Subscription ended. You can delete the config.json file if you want to clear it. Either way it will still work as the free version forever.
how would i get it to detect if i use media players? or is it not possible?
If you mean something like Quicktime or Winamp (LOL) then no. It does't right now. But i'm open to suggestions. Let me know in our Discord.
@@Triodeofficial hi i mean i have denon sc6000s and x1850 mixer i use streamlabs to stream and run the audio to my laptop from the mixer via rca to aux so there is no actual software e.g serato just wanted to know if it would work with this type of set up
@@alexzanderking1556 That setup will work, you will need to hardwire the players and mixer to your LAN with Ethernet as Engine doens't work with Now Playing over wifi.
@@Mojaxx nice one bruv
But why not just make a new source and capture and crop out what's playing on the decks with the DJ software then choma key to make transparent background and then use it as a layer... You could even add OBS plugins and then have it dynamically change to each deck or use a MIDI or Macro key to switch between the decks... Seems a little overkill to involve data transfer via internet to get the information that's already appearing on screen in the DJ software.
It's not sending data over the internet - only over your local network if you're using two computers. If you're only using one machine then it's just using the LocalHost. I have tried screen capturing Dj software before and it can work well... But this is free anyway, and I think it looks nicer.
@@Mojaxx Correct. None of the info goes over the internet. Now Playing doesn't need any other OBS plugins, Lorenboard, or MIDI mappings to work.
