  • This is the Kershaw Blur. Originally released in 2004, still a great selling knife. I highly recommend this knife for the price! Do yourself a favor and get a Kershaw Blur! Made in the USA and solid materials.

      Reporting in after a year of frequent, universal use..
      Absolutely excellent 10/10 quality and very reliable. I can not stress how good this knife is. If anything, it's under priced.

    Got my blur in 05. Been carrying one ever since. Only issue I had was the torsion bar broke after 7 years. Kershaw fixed it free and cleaned/sharpen it. Great review and knife.

    I have the all black with the tanto serrated blade. I bought it on a whim at wal-mart on the way to the ranch prior to a hunt for about $45. Little did I know I had just bought the knife I would carry for the next 16 years. Love this little beast.

    Best knife ever. I've been carrying a Blur since 2007. I'm on my 3rd one. I left my first clipped in a pair of shorts in a hotel room in St. Louis. The 2nd is s30v, and some day I will find where I misplaced it. The 3rd is the hollow grind with tiger stripe DLC.
    I probably own a dozen other folders, and this is the one that ends up in my pocket every day. It feels great in the hand. It rides well in the pocket. Operation is instinctual. NO GIMMICKS. It never needs adjustment. It has never closed or opened unintentionally, and it's a breeze to keep shaving sharp. If they just made the clip deep carry so it could be carried a little more on the down low, it would be sheer perfection.
    I still have not found a better knife.

    Just got one for $9 at a Walmart clearance. Lost my old one. I came in to pick up a cheap $2 camp knife for my trip tomorrrow and the camping associate showed me some knives he just put out on clearance. I was exited to see this one and actually purchased 2. So happy I stumbled upon this!

    I've had a Blur since 2009 when they first came out and although mine is the 440a steel they used before the Sandvik 13c and now 14c steel upgrades, this knife has been in my pocket every day and I just can't say ENOUGH great things about it! It's strong, sharp, not too big and bulky and weighs only 3.9 oz. and flipping that blade open just never gets old for anyone it seems! 😄 Also, if your Kershaw ever needs sharpening or repair, you can just send it to Kershaw along with $7. for return shipping and they'll sharpen and repair it free of charge AND it's Made in the USA! Can't beat that! 😉

      @Chris L. not on the tanto version. Its still very useable now but it's been sharpened so much that its centering is off. Although the spring snapped on my newer recurve after about 6 months of use.

    I found one of these on the ground and I'm so glad that someone dropped it, because I carry it every day and when it finally wears out I'll run and buy another. This one has the serrated edge and I would buy that over again. This is by far the fastest, easiest opening knife I've ever used. It is lightning fast, like a blur 😼

      I want the S30V myself. I just have a problem dropping that money on a liner lock knife.....maybe my thinking is wrong...... I've got the one he has in the video here and I absolutely love it...as I do almost all of Kershaw's US lineup. The Sandvik steel they use seems pretty good to me.....I work in a machining environment and we use a lot of Sandvik tooling......as well as I have some Sandvik bladed saws that are nearing 25 years old and have been used pretty hard and they're still going strong. I'm normally a total Spyderco fanboy but I will always make an exception for a Kershaw.....they were the brand of knife that I could buy back when I didn't have much money.....but I still got a good blade.

    I’ve been carrying Blurs for probably 10 years now. My only complaint is the rubbery “inserts”. My first Blur had more of a grip-tape/sandpaper material and I liked it so much more. Nevertheless a fantastic knife

    The material is really just aluminum and rubber inlays and quite frankly this is one AWESOME KNIFE to the point that I probably will buy another one in a different color and blade style. I agree with this guy completely it's an excellent knife.

  • @LIE4ME
    @LIE4ME Před 4 lety

    04:55 Five years of use... that's fantastic lock up of liner and blade tang. The recurve is an enlarged serration and in effect performs a guillotine back to front slice forcing whatever is in its path across a 14c28n Sandvik blade with a 40° inclusive edge curving ahead of the slicing patch force multiplied. A recurve has a sexy feel in the hand as you slice.
    To address the elephant in the room, yes. I do love and recommend this knife. I have an old black on black serrated tanto I bought at a pawn shop and a black dlc olive drab one like yours I bought at Walmart for $49.
    Can't believe this knife is 15 years old. Its probably the best selling non Buck American knife ever. Is this what Drake feels like? Everybody's had my love, but I don't care. Shes mine.

    @AaronDennis Před 3 lety +2

    Just FYI, the S30V version is flat ground. Same blade shape but not as good a slicer than the 14c28n. That may or may not matter but I actually didn't like the S30V version as much. There's something about a nice hollow grind blade that just works great regardless of the steel (the Buck 110 being a prime example).

    • @dustycover3015

      I'd get a sharpening stone at a hardware store or Amazon. The rod your talking about will only reshape the edge, it won't sharpen it. If you want to make it razer sharp, get your self a strop or a leather belt and strop your knife after you've sharpened it.
