This series gave me the confidence to install W3champions and play online for the first time in 15-20 years. I may have been over confident in my abilities. Still a lot of fun!
I too went to play WC3 multiplayer but I believe in either ladder you're bound to get curbstomped until your MMR adjusts and lowers to your level.
@@cello1993 To both of you, perhaps something to consider, if potentially losing more MMR than you should is of no particular concern:
For your first few games, learn and play a rush strat, like the undead ghoul rush, where you will most likely lose a lot of games at the start, except you will be taking the fastest route of MMR descension, until you reach where you estimate yourself to be and start playing proper styles.
This is comparable to dropping into population-dense zones in a battle royale -
You're playing possibly the most action-packed style in terms of the ratio between time spent base building/unit producing/creeping vs fighting, so each game takes less of a mental toll on you.
Your games will be more or less won or lost by the end of your initial rush, as a failed rush is hard enough to recover from that you feel ok enough about an early exit out of the game if the rush doesn't pan out how it should, thus making each game shorter no matter the outcome, so it takes less of a physical toll on you.
Additionally, playing a rush strat can often be decent small-scale micro practice, such as a key part of a ghoul rush's success often coming down to surrounds. It also further eliminates quite a few aspects of the game, such as macro, map awareness/scouting, creep routing, mid-late game build timings, and micro in higher population fights, which probably sounds like all of them, but it can really allow you to build up experience on the aspects that you do still need to focus on, get acclimated to some controls and game mechanics and perhaps most importantly, trains you in your composure in high-pressure situations where you're up close and personal against your opponent's base, which in turn can also drastically improve your split-second decision making, and reduce panicking or getting overwhelmed in all sorts of situations you might find yourself in, which there can be a countless number of in this game.
Just my two cents on how to approach a game with such a high skill ceiling so that the learning curve is a bit smoother at the start. I would love if others can chime in and let me know if this makes any sense at all 😅
I'm all for Crab's training arc coverage
Grubby breaking down at 8:00 was too perfect xD
This bronze league is so refreshing in comparison to perfect top level games. Their play-style is so random that it keeps me engaged - you never know what's next. :D
Lol 😂
It is refreshing but it'll never replace pro level games for me.
@@AmoebyIt doesnt have to. Thats the good point here.
They may be low level but this is high level of entertainment.
@@tobiasfunke8967 I just felt that the dude meant that pro level games don't keep them engaged or satisfy them because of the last sentence so I shared my opinion on that.
I LIKE that Grubby is not lambasting players for suboptimal decisions and instead tries to talk about how their play makes some sense. In a weird way, this is very good coaching for me as an extremely low-skill WC3 player, finding ideas I might can use even with baaad multitasking and limited experience. Like the second moon well without needing that supply, I am one of the guys who thinks "I rather build a second well now when I have the money instead of forgetting it later".
Well, it makes sense for a low level player. Though, imo only if you don't want to improve and become the guy who builds moonwells when he needs.
Grubby is a vampire, he doesn't age. I imagine that when he finishes streaming he goes into his sarcophagus
A Dread lord perhaps.
7:47 grubby couldn't hold it LOL, I was laughing so hard
"Don't laugh !"
You killed me man
Bronze league players combine Headhunters and Wyverns because those units understand each other. Both are fragile, both throw spears. Synergy is important in RTS. How is a Grunt supposed to help a Wyvern when he doesn't know the first thing about how the Wyvern fights?
They also have the same upgrade no? It seems logical to max out your dmg until you realize your entire army dies before they can actualy use the dps.
Also economy, both benefit from ranged dmg upgrade so you don't split resources between melee/range
These are so addicting to watch. Keep it up Grubby 👍
Can't wait till next episode. This is actually interesting to watch. And Grubby's comments are priceless)
Finally a Game where I can follow whats happening
This is my new favourite series!
Why produce weak dryads and bears when you can upgrade them completely first. Than boom surprise!
i guess the tooltip is not clear enough about existing units getting the future upgrades. Would you make a bear thinking it would never be able to rejuvinate or shapeshift, only roar? i wouldn't.
@@user-kd2qd1sh3o oh, I never thought of it that way. Maybe that's why they do the upgrade first! They just don't know? Interesting
could also be they think the unit is too fragile without the upgrade
That was some good acting until 7:47
bronze league series is so cool. feels like my games are being analyzed
Thanks for casting this level and trying to keep it professional. 🤣More of this please 🙏🏻.
I love how grubby finds logic in every "stupid" move these players are making❤
can't get enough of these, wonderful idea for a series!!
10:50 He went to the shop Just to look what's in there and was like "Nah, maybe later' xD
The bronze league games are my favourite and the commentary makes me laugh!
Even more entertaining than the perfect high level games where they track every second of production and spend, plus micro so well.
of course paring headhunters & windriders makes sense; they share their range upgrades.
as a total newbie, i really adore this series. showcasing & explaining mistakes really makes it more approachable
this serie really gave me the courage to launch multiplayer !!
Hunter/Wyvern explanation: If you stick to all ranged units, you can all throw them into the same group and when right clicking with the entire group selected in fights they all kinda do what you want instead of getting killed while pathfinding etc. Of course A-moving would be another option but then you can't easily focus stuff. Many decisions in low level play can be explained as workarounds lack of micro and APM. Unit compo (easily controllable is better than effective), talent choice (easy talents first), frontloading stuff so you can't forget it later.
Long time fan, really like this series. I’m actually motivated to play Warcraft3 again
I enjoy these low level commentaries. I'm also guilty of standing around doing nothing a lot of the time, so I can relate.
Good job commentating. You're very professional.
I love how Grubby could make 90% of his comments with a straight face. I can’t stop laughing lmao. That’s what makes him a professional (spoil alert - he was being nonprofessional for 5s in the video😂).
The demon death 😂😂😂😂 make my laugh loud 😂😂
your analysis of Liam's thoughts is just hilarious :D
W3C was always a bit scary to me as I felt it was just filled with players who haven't ever uninstalled WC3. This series is giving me the confidence and excitement to give it a go. There are my people and I feel confident I can join their ranks.
hahahahahahahah yes we hate shops, we atack them first always hahah
Grubby, I tried so hard not to laugh, but the tome pickup but not claws was my breaking point
Loving the Bronze League games Grubby. Keep it up. I may even install W3 Champions and give it a shot for the first time in many many years.
I'm legit loving this series and getting addicted to it xD
The creep ensnare call 😂😂 💀
ngl this low mmr series is SSS tier, keep up dude
People who play at this level are very courageous and motivating lol.
Claws are a melee weapon. Who needs that when you're going full ranged. TC? He already has a big axe.
Like an ascension 20 Defect, Liam has chosen to Skip on Claw
Please make 1 of these videos every single day on top of your own videos. With your commentary it's pretty much gold in CZcams format loll
So good! Fun to watch
i feel like im going to tune in to one of these one day and see my own gameplay LOL, love this stuff though highly entertaining and interesting to watch
This is great content. Not because it's pretty funny at times, but because this is a great diversion from the tryhard stuff!
I always thought when i quit 10 years ago i needed to improve and would never be good enough. oh how i was right but oh was i so wrong at my own abilities. I could definately be high silver or even gold if i hopped back on and practiced a bit. Perspective is a mother trucker.
As a fellow bad player myself I sympathize with Elves not wanting to produce Druids with no training because the first time I did that they just died too quickly, you'd expect them to be tankier since they're melee but they're not so you need to be extra careful.
Love this!
I predict I will not scream at my monitor because I havn't played WC3 for almost 20 years xD
I hated shops too. Still managed to play some RoC before TFT came out, so then kinda didn't try to incorporate my shop into any kind of build order. In my defense, I did live the "more stuff is better than less stuff" principle and would always be producing some units. My plan was to be the Orc tank for my team and let them worry about heals. If there was ranked, I never played it, so even though I had some 370 wins overall, I never got any rank.
Please make more!!!! Great content
i F***** love this!
You need to coach Liam. We need to see his comeback.
Love your videos grubby…. It’s been a hard couple years but I must say watching your videos over the time helped take my mind off the bs when I would be sitting in bed staring at the ceiling… your worth more than ya know….ps I have a wife and daughter so don’t get excited over there.
First time I'm watching this series and I love it. You might actually learn more from Grubby's comments about noobs than pros tbh.
Love the commentary you’re the best grubby
I play lots like Crab when I random NE. DH, lots of wells, tech to bears - but I immolation CREEP balls to the wall
These are amazing.
"Don't laugh"
Also is doing the KEKW
Grubby: 9:04 Why do Bronze Orcs combine Head Hunters and Wyverns?
Bronzie: Don’t Head Hunters and Wyverns share the same tech upgrade talents? 🔱
Big fan of bronze league legends
Combine HH and Wyverns because they both use spears = unit synergy
Haha when Grubby loses it for a second, that was hilarious.
Yay! Low Elo Legends but for Warcraft 3!
Serious question: can you learn sthm. from low mmr grubby?
For Twisted Meadows wc3 champions. Do you like it is always cross spawn? One one hand, I can see how it makes it more fair. But on the other hand, I kinda like the the random spawns. I kinda think the cross spawn actually benefits Hu the most. Sure you know where they' are and what they're creeping but I think the distance is far. If you spawn next to them and you scout, I think harass would hurt even more.
7:22 I will watch it once a day, that's impossible to hold it! 😂
How ultimate of Death Knight can be changed? For example abilitys of ressurected units will appear.
after i've played wc3 since i was a kid for like 8 years straight (campaign and arcade onlyy mind you) like 12-15 years later i did my first 2 ranked matches ever, with grubbys knowledge, specating etc . just for fun, no unranked, no pressure, good to be bad, trying to learn.
now 1 day later he hits me with the " players at this level build like 5 grunts, 2 raiders, second hero, then rush the enemy" and it is EXACTLY what i did :D
trying not to forget anything is hard, but feels still way easier then sc2. (which i never really played ladder aswell, but still)
i dont know how exactly, but since you do the bronze spectates, would you be interested in watching (basically ) a first time ever wc3 ladder player? orc btw
peak entertainment
Hello everyone it's G to the rubby Grubby!
Jenkins smiling
Apologies if this has been said, is it possible the bronze heroes do their master trainings before building units because they don't know that current units will also get the upgrade???
Time for crab
*crab people*
Plays like crab, talks like people
yeah this makes me feel like actually trying w3c
hey how do i find a clan or group or something to keep me playing more
I wonder what the Warden has to say about that 😆😂🤣 The Shadow Hunter Blade Master Paladin Crypt Lord ect ect 🤣. Love the Demon Hunter
One video is happy vs fortitude and the next is grass/bronze league. Sometimes i continue a video ive left halfway not knowing what rank am I watching and if those "mistakes" are actually genius plays😅
Would be interesting to cast gold league maybe
What is "tech"? Tier upgrade?
❤
I want more
I am awaiting for the second season where Liam stops making TC first and maybe puts an end on Crab's arc.
I was so bothered by Liam having an idle peon in both games
Nah it's coz noobs see they share the same ranged weapon upgrade at the Warmill, it's 100% that
Yep. When you combine melee and ranged, you have to upgrade everything. If you stick to ranged or melee you can skip one side of the upgrades.
Damn now i just wanna play WC3 bad (not that i can play it good even if i wanted to xD) just to get futured here xD
how to play warcraft 3 online? do i have to pay?
I honestly don't know how to fight Demon Hunter. I tried PvP for the first time in probably like 20 years and I've lost every game against it.
Dude, the commentary is way too good... "He took the tome but left claw, usually it's the other way around."
This Liam is a newbie, 😂😂😂
Haha 😂
Worst beginners' mistake rank list when?
Lol but TC first is op 😢
its like im watching my 12 year old self play this tbh 😂
Sub to the crab
Why orc plays tc first?
Cuz he is huge
coz ORK CAN
He has a big cool slingshot.
Cool cow
Second hand
Я тоже нуб и заказываю улучшения раньше юнитов
ahaahahahaha
anti timing xD
Back in the day when i played Wc3 i was okayish. But my God i never encountered this level of noobs. They lack the very basic understandings of any Rts game.
For instance you only upgrade when you have a decent bunch of units. You never do it before. It just looses so much tempo.
Have a game play plan. Learn creep routes, learn build orders, learn builiding placements, learn when to scout. There are so many basic things that are lacking here.
And yet they are playing and having fun being with casual Multiplayer. There's no need to learn advanced techniques or even improve in any way as a player if you're fine with the level you're playing at and enjoy the style of your play as long as the ladder keeps sending you somewhat equally skilled opponents to play against.
