The Acolyte - Episode 6 - All filler... No Killer

- Disney Star Wars The Acolyte Episode 6. I Was Wrong........ not about the quality of this show that still atrocious, but rather about how it would be near impossible to limbo beneath the level of the standards of such works as the acolyte episode 3 or 4......
Episode 6 is quite possibly even worse.... largely because while everything is still bad it just doesn't really lead anywhere and is just filling the time until the obvious flashback next episode meaning that your watching this mess of an episode for little to no reason.
Anyways We look at the episode as a whole, the main issues throughout (hint.... its all about the writing) and what limited progression their actually is in an episode that could have realistically been condensed into a third of its size.
What do you think about this episode? Did you find much of anything in this episode worthwhile or did you find it a total snoozefest? Let me know your thoughts below!
Ive no idea what this episode is. I like the kamir dialouge but thats it.
@@yurikendal4868 he's the best character by a country mile and the actor can act.... for me though everything is just tainted by how awful the writing is.
Acolyte is just great because I discovered so many Ytubers thanks to this show!

Thanks mate, both for the sub and for the kind words. Ill be honest i'm always a harsh critic of myself so to know the content is decent is a bit of a relief.
Id say that's the only plus to this whole show, but if you can discover Ytubers why the hell cant the producers/writers of these shows. Maybe they would learn something and actually have their finger on the fandom pulse.
Having watched the whole series now, i don't see how you cant root for the Sith in this series. If you actually accepted this as star wars and put it in continuity with everything else (i cant do this btw its OT prequels and maybe rogue one and that's the door shut) it makes you start to think that the emperor was right to end the Jedi and order 66 everyone they could. The Jedi are painted as emotional deceptive idiots. None of which are traits indicative of Jedi.
This episode was more painful than childbirth 😂

I think you make some good points, but im not sure the series is as bad as you think. The last episode was decent and I think there's a slim possibility they can conclude this series in a way that's ok. Is it the best series ever. No.... Could it be passable.... possibly. Maybe i'm just being optimistic.

Not a problem, glad it helped. As for ranking it it's a little difficult to say but I think it's probably this.
As much as I hated the new trilogy of films I don't think they are actually contenders for the worst star wars and that's because I think the true contenders are pretty much all of the traditional serial installments with maybe the exception being mandolorian (it's getting leniency because of season 1 primarily)
So with that you have ashoka, boba fett, the acolyte and obi wan.
Ashoka was just plain bad, the writing was trash, the lead character had absolutely no grace with a lightsaber and the choreography for the most part was awful. The plot was weak the character development none existent the whole show was contrived and suffered from an insane amount of dead space invloving staring or looking at people in "interesting" ways. I could go on but I'm sure you get the point.
That said it did have two redeeming feature. Ray Stephenson. but even he can only elevate a shoddy script so far. And it also didn't really damage the universe that much.
Boba fett. I didn't mind boba fett would i watch it again? No. did i hate it with absolute passion? No I just minded alot of the artistic decisions and the fact it was a waste of an iconic character getting his own story. The plot was weak the strongest part of the series was when they injected the mandolorian in for his series 2.5. But it wasnt terrible. Again it didn't damage the universe so out of this group I'd say that's actually the strongest.
Obi wan - if were talking about which series did the most damage to star wars then you can shout bingo right here. A message laden mess that damages the storyline of the OT. The entire premise of the show is absolute crap and the ending makes obi wan ultimately responsible for every single person darth vader kills from that point on. So even if the show was good (which it's not) as game of thrones taught us, if you can't stick the landing then you still end up a burning wreck. That said..... the show had star power.... in that we had hayden and ewan again swinging lightsabers and all the feelings that brings with it like it almost certainly being the best looking lightsaber fights of the Disney era. Which is ironic seeing as its a throwback to the George lucas era and all the training they had to be actually competent.
Lastly acolyte... what can I say... sol and qimir can act.... end of positives. No one else can, the script is awful it's clearly trying to subvert people's expectations that the jedi are good by painting them as being reprehensible. The dialogue is utterly trash. The notion of a lightsaber whip is absolute garbage. The plot is dismal and it spends, at least, twice as long as it needs to address anything. It might be recency bias.... but for the worst actual show.... I think its this one.

@@yurikendal4868 I hadn't even thought of that..... the transponder came back on.... they would have detected and known that sols ship was around the planet moments before they arrived. So the fact it was never mentioned or alluded to that it was strange they would go dark again is as you said nonsense.
I could go further in that why would the point you exit the atmosphere and jump from be identical to where you'd enter the system? Twice. The rotation of the planet or just different escape vectors different destinations would mean the likelihood of them jumping from/arriving to at the same place absolutely bloody tiny. The whole show is just convoluted contrived convenient crud.
I watched the first episode and decided id be better off watching reviewers. Glad to know i was right lol!

I just cant get my head around the writing in this series, characters are pure wack and the way they behave is just unbelievable. Worst star wars ever.
what do you want from this show
I wouldn't mind some half decent writing for a start.
Just some actual well written characters who act as someone might act in a situation, who have actual development and arcs that make sense. If you can nail that, you can introduce even a semi decent plot and it will be a passable show.
We have little to no development in characters, what changes do occur are like doing a u-turn at 140mph and are completely against the motivations they have previously shown. Basically it's completely irrational and implausible.
And did I mention that the plot is 100% not semi decent.
