I found with project panning, while a great idea, I was still not using my collection to the fullest. I usually wear makeup like 20 times a month, so I started doing a project 5 use. I will group my items in various categories. For example this month I had 4 categories, one was my all time fav products, one was favorite discontinued products, one was my most affordable, and one was like well loved products, but not favorites, that hadn’t been used in a bit. I find I get to use more of my collection and I don’t feel like a boxed in by feeling like I had to use products until I hit a pan or a random product I didn’t feel like using so much cause I pulled a card. For me this has really helped me use my collection and enjoy it. No i am not having as many empties but I would rather use various products than finish a product just to finish it. That being said, makeup should be fun and finding what works for each of us is ideal and at the end of the day, I want to enjoy my purchases and treasures.

One of the blessings of doing projects is that it helps us learn more about ourselves. For example I think you could probably declutter that mattifying primer. Everything you said is why the only project I do is use it up. I no longer hate pan anything. Life is too short for that.

I completely understand about exiting stage left with the project. I did that with another project because I just really wasn't feeling it. That's terrible about the NYX packaging. Even though it's drugstore, it's still too expensive for that. I had the same issue with the Kosas concealer. The lid completely broke about halfway down! Way too expensive for that! I love the idea of a rolling 5 pan. I say as long as you're using your products, it's a good project!

I had the nyx this is juice gloss and I had to declutter it because the lid cracked a little and started leaking everywhere 😅 it was the only nyx gloss product I’ve ever had and it definitely turned me off from their lip products even though I’ve heard great things about

I mainly have sydney grace shadows and I was wondering if you ever hit pan on any and if so how hard was it? Honestly im imagining they take a long time
No I have not! They are very pigmented!!
I personally don’t like to watch prompt-based projects. I never watched the updates for that project. I’m pretty basic. Select products. Finish products. Move on to more products.
Me neither, I prefer to handpick the products I want to focus instead of choosing randomly
