  • Another online session with my buddies in Havoc Company. Tonight we flew Operation Silk Street Extended by Cold Blood and much fun was had by all.

@Skele Boner I was firing from the right seat with the fixed sight throughout this video. In these fast low level approaches it seems to be the best way. Although these is a lot less margin for error as you can see!

Great video, thx... I watched the video with the fortunate son song in the background, priceless.:)
Dont you a little impatient?(lost your skids due to a pilot battle impatience)

ex_levy Actually a little earlier in that mission dotChuckles was playing that very song over Teamspeak :-D
Yes that was very sloppy flying on my part. I was getting frustrated that I couldn't hit those last 2 troops with my guns. Need to be more careful in future!

Hey deephack- just subbed, because I enjoy your commentary style and there aren't nearly enough informative and entertaining videos on DCS around IMO. Do you retain manual control of the Huey's weapons throughout the entire flight, or do you allow the copilot to take the guns with the flex-sight?
I find it a lot more enjoyable to spray stuff down with the guns fixed using the pilot sight, but it's indisputably more effective to let the warm body in the left seat aim them for you.

Hi deephack, I really like this small channel. Out of the Huey or the Mi-8, which do you prefer the most? I'm leaning more towards the Mi-8 just because of the sheer amount of switches, and plus it has wheels so I could hovertaxi if I wanted to. Just wanted to hear your opinion.

Chris Peat Hi Chris, that's always a tough question as I really enjoy flying both aircraft. The Huey is more maneuverable and currently in a slightly more complete state. The Mi8 is faster and more stable but it sort of lumbers and is slow to change direction. Both have similar abilities although the Mi8 can carry more weapons and a heavier load. Lastly the Huey has simulated crew and door gunners which I hope will be coming to the Mi8 too one day.
Personally I can't imagine not having both! Sorry for the non answer ;-)

deephack Ok, thanks for the answer, I'll probably just wait for the next ED sale on steam, then I'll see if I can get both, many thanks and nice channel you've got going there :)
