- There is a new shot in the latest, and perhaps final teaser for The Mandalorian season three that seems completely normal on the surface, but had Clone Wars fans take note. What is with the grassy fields on what appears to be Mandalore? The planet is supposed to be a desert. So are we seeing flashbacks? Or is it a different planet? Or maybe a new part of Mandalore? That's what we're discussing today, one day before the season three premiere!

I got excited at first, but you can tell that it's not Sundari. I was really hoping for a Tar Vizsla flashback though, that would have been wild. It makes sense that this is more some kind of colony on another world or moon. I think there's probably a certain point where Mandalore just can't recover unless it was left alone for thousands upon thousands of years, and I think it's really only been about a thousand years since everything was destroyed, it's just not enough time. And then considering the Empire coming in and bombing parts of an already pretty dead world, it's not already coming back to life after only about 9 or 10 years.
Something I noticed this time on the destroyed dome footage is that there's some green just outside the dome, so the planet really can be recovering, indeed. And the new footage could be, like I said on another video, part of the planet, even on the other side.
Keep it up Alex. I can’t wait for more Mando and your positive spin on it and the lore.
Someone mentioned that it could be Rodian. They have similar domes In Clone Wars
I could be wrong-not all of Mandalore was turned to a desert. Before Disney and the clone wars, Karan Travis made Mandalore a jungle planet, then Dave retconned it into a dessert. If I’m correct, back then to not have the books and show contradict each other it was said that the planet still has. Some areas that are jungle left. That was still before Disney - so idk if that was carried over to Canon or not. But if it was I think it would explain this.
Mandalore was first shown in 1982 in the comics as being a jungle, much before Karen Traviss, though she did do her best to adopt the existing lore at the time. I would NOT say this is Keldabe, the old canon capital of Mandalore, as it was described as being a ramshackle of buildings with no real order. The biodomes came with Dave Filoni.
@@TheHeston83 ???
@@SamCoulson yeah- interesting. Dave brought in the domes and the concept of the planet being destroyed and a desert- there was an attempt to bridge both of these ideas- and idk if they are going to continue that idea. It seems like they are if this is the main planet. Or like Alex said, one of the moins
It could also be a "red hearing" done for the trailer since the real shoot is given away to much of the story. Sometimes they like to through in things like that so we can be kept guessing. J.
I wouldn’t just assume because you see vegetation and water that the area is healthy. The toxic area around Chernobyl is now overgrown with forests. Wild animals appear to be thriving. They’re more prone to tumors and cancers but until the symptoms of those tumors take effect they’re healthy enough.
I think it’s the same planet we see the gauntlet fighter getting chased on. I hope it’s a mandalorian colony because it looks like a big settlement
A Tarre Visla flashback would be awesome
It could be Rodia! A bit random, but it fits
The planet was in like two Star Wars-stories, it's a cool planet sure, but the chance it'll appear in any future story from now on is very, very low.
@@Lr.Laecro.Lirus3445 There have been several really deep cuts made in the Mandalorian, it’s not out of the question
@@JaydenVarghese True, but it's still very unlikely.
Looks a bit like Lothal to me.
1:34 I suspect this is a flashback to the age of Jedi Vizsla. Grogu is educated on mandalorian history while enroute to or within the mines of mandalore. So DJ can restore his street cred with the cult.
Are you familiar with Isaac Asimov’s novel “Caves of Steel”?
Star Wars draws far more content from Isaac Asimov’s Foundation, Empire, and Robot novels than it does from Frank Herbert’s “Dune” novels.
In “Caves of Steel”, Earth’s environment had been severely damaged by wars. Humanity lived in giant bio-domes.
When humans ventured out into space and began to settle the galaxy, they brought their bio-domes with them.
Humans at that time were highly reluctant to venture outside of the safety of their domes, much less live outside of one.
Not all humans in Asimov’s Universe wanted to live in “Caves of Steel”, but most of them did because generations of habit had evolved a mortal fear of open skies.
Those who did not want to live in bio-domes ventured further out into the galaxy, and eventually becoming almost an entirely different species of humans, known as Spacers.
We actually see some of these Spacers in the “Foundation” TV series on Apple TV. They were the beings that controlled the ship’s hyperdrive as it jumped through hyperspace across the galaxy.
But, most of humanity still lived in domes, particularly on the ecumonopolis at the center of the galaxy, Trantor, which served as the capital planet for the galactic empire.
I never thought it was specifically the jedi & republic that turned mandalore into a wasteland. From what i remember it was moreso ages of war with others but mostly among themselves that turned the planet that way over time. But i could be wrong
Funny that, Kalevala. the Finnish collection of epic poetry and folklore but also part of Mandalore. guess that makes us Finns Mandalorian?
Well, Finland is the most “metal” country on the planet. Armor is made of metal.
@@CantankerousDave We are indeed😀
Vod’e An as a heavy metal version anyone?
What about the moon of Concordia where the watch survived while the bombings occurred on mandalore?
I suspect it's The Moon of Concordia!
At this point I think the next movie should be completely disconnected from the Skywalkers and Sith. I think a Filoni led Mandalorian Wars movie or trilogy would be dope.
Old republic Era with revan and malak fighting the mandalorians
I really want to get away from Skywalker stuff.....but I do want Jedi and Sith. Some old republic movies or something. They're my favorite, and imo the most interesting part of the franchise.
@@Blinkptx I like the idea of the old school Jedi and Republic battling Mandalorians in all their glory could be interesting because we get something besides Jedi versus Sith saber duels or Jedi cutting waves of cannon fodder.
Whatever it is I'm here for it. Also I love how with every video Alex does the whole time I'm saying yes, yeah, or nodding my head in agreement!
I think it's an off world colony as you said.
I think the shots we see of Bo katan is on Mandalore but I think this aerial shot is Bo Katan's base of operations before Mandalore is liberated.
just like how mustafar began to heal after vader immortal
HOLD UP! Clan Kryze's ancestral home is called Kalevala?
So not only do we have the Alderanian region of Kaamos (Finnish for the time of the year when the sun doesn't rise all day), the character Juhani (a Finnish name, equivalent to John), and the random name options Savo and Sankari in KOTOR (One's a region in Finland, other's the Finnish word for hero), but now we have a Mandalorian planet named after the Finnish national epic? Perfect.
There is also fighting style called Teräskäsi. First Canon mentions was In Solo i think
@@notobi-wan8344 Oh yeah, I forgot about Teräskäsi! I could have sworn there were other mentions of it before Solo though.
@@mazubahtender It was one of the worst Star Wars video games of all time.
@@ChristopherAndertonSWE I know what Masters of Teräs Käsi was, and from what I've seen, it's not that bad, just a little nonsensical.
That is indeed a huge building!
I can't wait to see how much they delve into Mandalorian culture! With Great Houses, Clans as vassals etc, it's very medieval and makes the Mandalorians so interesting. It's also rich in storytelling potential - a new show set in Mandalore's past anyone?
If those are Bio-Domes, I'm really hoping for a Pauly Shore cameo.
My thought is that this could be Concordia or maybe Concord Dawn
I really hope it's Concord Dawn
An off Mandalore settlement, most likely in Mandalorian space.
Possibly concord dawn?
Another possibility is that this is a world that supports life, but not human life. They can grow vegetables and perhaps collect water, but they can't breathe the air.
I'm not sure when or where this is myself but a lot of those lakes look like impact craters not natural erosion. I don't think its Mandalore, nor Sundari City, because I'm pretty sure that when the Empire destroyed Sundari they were doing the same to every domed city on Mandalore at the same time.
I mean, Mandalore is a planet. There is always a possibility of areas to be green and sustainable.
But that would mean, that Mandalore has recovered in just around 5-10 Years since the Mandalorians left the planet.
I think its just an Colony or City on a different planet.
You might be surprised how quickly vegetation can recover after devastation. One need only look to the Sudbury Basin. The area was devastated by 19th and early 20th century smelting techniques that killed the surrounding vegetation because of sulfur dioxide-induced acid rain. Once smelting methods improved after the 1970s and recovery efforts, much of the vegetation began to return in the 1980s. The shot in the teaser shows largely grassland, so it is conceivable that enough time has passed for some vegetation to grow back. That being said, it's still speculation and it could very well be a colony on another planet.
@@kivimik Aha, interesting. But was that area as dead as Mandalore? Mandalore looks really barren and i guess it would need more time than this. But yeah, its an different planet, so it could be better on different parts of the planet.
@@rps1276 NASA used the area for some Moon landing astronaut training because it was so barren.
Hoping it’s where Kevin Mckidd (fenn) lives.
yeah Hoping for a Tar Viszla Flashback yeah I Hope Din Djarin changes his ideology for the better for his son , I feel The Armorer and The Children Of Watch are Like The Prequel of Old stuck in Rigitiy which has lead to The Mandalore Peoples downfall on Both sides. also The Armorer could be A Former Mauldalorian Supercommando, Maul Radicalized his sect of Mandalorians as well
Maybe they are terraforming the planet of Mandalore to make it liveable again?
I just want to throw up the idea that, the planet is the target of a Mandalorians attack. Previous trailers have shown Mandos dropping out of a ship, probably for an assault. We see those Mandos drop down in this trailer. They drop past a tree. Then we see, what I assume is Bo’s ship being chased by TIEs, thru a green canyon. I think they are assaulting an imperial planet, that just happens to have bio-dome
So many fan theories so little time.
I'm hoping it's Bogano
A colony seems likely
Bio-domes? Does this mean we finally get Pauly Shore in Star Wars? /s
Couldn't this be Rodia?
I don’t understand why no one think that this is concordia. Which is the obvious option.
What do you think of the nonsensical timeline Favreau recently mentioned, the series taking place over like 5 years or something with grogu being with Luke for over 2 years…. Like What?
Wookiepedia disagrees.
This Is the way!! 😎✊👊🍁♈
That's 100% not true, but it actually could be New Cov from Dark Force Rising. Domed city, jungle outside, just accurate. I won't deny, it was a cool planet in itself, the capital city however was pretty boring, like there was one bar and nothing more.
Are you going to offer Star Wars Tshirts again?
👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀
That shot looks animated.
BS thats a real spaceship
that’s is not animated 😂
🙄
The free American thinker ladies and gentlemen 👏😂😂
[slow clap] ...congratulations on identifying the obvious...
How do you pay attention in the map when they don't and mandelara's beam rebuilt you can see some local wildlife freaking grass popping up that means somehow mandilor is getting back it's wildlife and natural state Now the plan's gonna look like it was before the jedi ordered in the Republic destroyed it the planet
😐 What? None of that made sense.
"This is huge!"
Well, yeah... It is a pretty large structure. Way to point out the obvious.
I mean, Mandalore is a planet. There is always a possibility of areas to be green and sustainable.
