OnePlus Watch 2 Review | WearOS Done Right!

- Reviewing the OnePlus Watch 2, a WearOS smartwatch that for me beats Google's own Pixel Watch 2, and is a solid rival to Samsung's Galaxy Wear efforts. The OnePlus Watch 2 boasts the best battery life of most recent alternatives, outside of Xiaomi and Huawei wearables using proprietary OS's. You can buy one in the UK for £299 or US for $299, and it's 329 Euros.
This amazing longevity comes courtesy of the OnePlus Watch 2's dual chipset and dual OS setup. WearOS is handled by Qualcomm's Snapdragon W5, while basic tasks including health tracking use a low-powered BES chip. In this way, you can get three to four days of battery life from a single charge of this smartwatch.
WearOS is of course as user friendly as always, if slightly buggy here on the OnePlus Watch 2 at launch. This should be sorted in updates, of course. Performance is excellent and the massive display is a stunner, but this smartwatch certainly isn't designed for smaller wrists.

This is what redemption looks like. Oneplus is just delivering banger after banger since the launch of oneplus open; OP12 / 12R, OP Buds 3 and now this brilliant smartwatch. It's just outstanding.
Does "do not disturb" sync regardless of android distribution? Oddly enough, bedtime mode just working is a make or break feat imo

I got myself the Xiaomi watch 2 pro, on the 14th day of having it (the returns window) Oneplus announced this. Although the Xiaomi wathc is excellent the battery life isn't anywhere near the advertised 55 hours.
This would definitely have been the watch id gone for if they had announced it earlier or if I hadn't of been so impatient
@TechSpurt Can you disable all sensors on this thing? I just want a smart watch with good battery life, NFC for payments and basic step tracking. I would do a Garmin, but I refuse to use their Garmin Pay when im already using Android Pay/Wallet. Thank you for the review.

@@efonwang You're not wrong. Just need steps, battery life and nfc for payments. Havent been able to find one that fits my use case. I like Garmin except for their odd choice to not support GPay and stick to their Garmin Pay.
Can you use third-party bands on it? I see it uses 22mm bands...any reason I couldn't just put something different on there if I wanted to?

I've ordered the Watch 2 yesterday but I was a little bit sceptics since all reviews so far were kinda meh and didn't show me what I was looking for so I didn't know if I made good or bad decision. But your review included absolutely every detail I wanted to know (well almost every. I can't find anywhere if the haptic feedback is strong enough) and I am even more hyped for the Watch 2. 10/10 review.
As someone who has never used a smart watches but only xiaomi mi bands I am really looking forward to try the Watch 2 ^^
I remember MKBHD saying the haptics are kinda meh and the watch takes a couple seconds to display a notification after he raises his arm but other than that it's a great watch
@@trojanman4715 Yeah I saw that video. The notifications were surprising to me since MKBHD was the only one talking about it (we have to take into consideration that he had the pre release software). And it's hard to say what can we imagine by "meh haptics"

@@augmach5 I didn't see anybody saying that the speaker is not good. Only that it could be better. But it will do the job without any issues
Zen watch 3 and Fossil had great speakers in my opinion. Just not sure what it means when they say could be better...

This watch is FANTASTIC! I've had the GW 5 and 6 but this watch is so much faster, battery life is better, less money and better looking (subjective) but its a great watch so far!
tbh i dont really get the whole "it will do three days between charges!" thing if I'm charging my phone pretty much every day anyways. I'm using the Pixel Watch 2 and although it can survive 2 whole days I just charge it whenever I'm charging my phone, makes it really easy to keep track and its a super simple ritual since I'm already used to charging my phone anyways. Besides these things charge so fast, in like 10~15 mins its full

Beautiful watch but those BEZELS!!!! I just bought the Galaxy watch 6 and it has really slim bezels which looks sharp. I'm debating returning it and getting this but not sure I could get past the chunky border

I dunno. Lots of mad people about Pixel Watch 2 only being in 41mm. I think 43mm is the magic number for sizing between big and small wrists.
I have a 46mm watch and anything smaller feels way too small to use
@Ignacio.Romero it depends. I have a galaxy watch 4 classic, 5 Pro, watch 6 classic and pixel watch. Love the other watches and rotate them, but every day while at work I use the pixel watch because of the size.
I wish OnePlus had a smaller size like 43mm.

Concerning the crown, can you confirm that turning the crown actually changes the volume when you hear music as one tester pointed out?
it does not. i am running the latest version of the watch and in general it doesn't do anything, I've tried it on soundcloud aswell and it does not increase or decrease volume. I heard it was designed to spin to add strength to the watch.

Been a Samsung Knight for ages (shout-out to Flossy Carter) and this is going to be my first time ordering a OnePlus device.
I liked my Galaxy Watch 4, but I really need better battery life. I saw some people complain about a lack of an ECG sensor, but then I remembered that I could count on one hand how many times I actually used that feature on one hand.

I have tried the Watch 2 for a couple of months and I absolutely loves it. You can get a really good price on my Ticwatch pro 5 that has been stuck in a drawer since I got the Oneplus watch 2 😂

Nothing on how to charge?
I have a Ticwatch Pro 5 and, due to never updating the previous models, I'm wary of Ticwatch NEVER updating the 5 to Wear OS 4.0. So... I've ordered the OnePlus 2. Done. Goodbye Ticwatch (Shame, as the 5 really is a lovely item).

Did they fix the GPS? My one+ watch 1 gps picked up the signal 5 minutes in my work out (so basically recorded only 1 minute 😂) a reason to sell it. Update: check, thanks for covering it 2 gps,,🙌

I waited to buy a 1+ watch. Not the 1st, not the Nord. But maybe this.

So I ended up paying just £219 for the watch and the buds. That's a cracking deal and it felt rude not to. Now I need to sell my TicWatch Pro3 which I've hardly ever used because its so ugly.
