The Cricut Joy is ideally suited for card making. But sometimes you want to make some fast cards with a delicate design and run into problems. With the Hearts Card Fronts design used in today's tutorial there are a bunch of intricate cuts that the Cricut Joy can't do unless you make some modifications.
First, using a lightweight scrapbook-type paper is the best material. It is heavier than copy/printer paper and heavy enough to be adhered to a cardstock card base. And, the Cricut Joy doesn't use too much pressure to cut lightweight paper so that helps avoid cuts that snag or don't cut all the way through.
Second, a very sticky mat is super important for the Cricut Joy to cut this intricate design. The entire back side of the paper needs to be well adhered to the mat so when the blade cuts through, it doesn't accidentally pick up any delicate bits not stuck to the mat and accidentally start dragging and tearing the design as it cuts.
Please refer to the video tutorial for much more detailed explanations of the above. Thanks for watching!
