"Power armor is for pussies." Fucking savage
Green Swamp Onion He killed Chief with that line straight up :D
Green Swamp Onion fallout would not approve
Says game that took health system from same series
and at the pinball table he says "now I have Time to Play with myself" which refers to "I've got no Time to Play with myself" from duke nukem 3d
I actually liked this game
I really liked it too, which sucks because no plays the multiplayer anymore
It was a fantastic game, not sure what everyone else was smoking? :-\ Multiplayer wasn't as memorable as the original, but that's the only complaint I've got.
Evangelion in the Duke 3d it was doom gear
yes but he was saying that it was also a reference to "thats one DOOMED space marine" which was in duke nukem 3D where you can find a dead DOOM marine
a few still do.....enough to fill a server for 2 to 4 hours late afternoon ;)
5:26 That i had no idea. Dead Space marine in DNF.
8:14 That 7 looks more like a 1 for me.
Isn't the code 80085?
I think that's an American thing, they usually write 1 like I in handwriting (i.E. just as a vertical line) and 7 without a bar in the middle.
I think you missed the "Leeroy Jenkins" reference also. You're told to go with a guy named Jenkins, and he goes barging into battle and gets killed right away and Duke says "Dammit Leroy."
there is also a reference to princess Bride. when you are shrunk there are two huge rats and Duke says " talk about rodents of unusual size"
10:12 those.. aren't bottlecaps..
Midas Imperius Just like 10:12, that isn't a wrench.. lol.
Ok furfag
@@Damashie You play roblox, you edgy fuck
Yeah, I think he knew
@@10-Years-At-Least Being a furry is way worse than that
Yea bottle caps lets go with that
"that's one Dead Space marine" an easter egg of dead space
+dracopo sorry to disappoint you but Space marine is Doom's Space marine, because Isaac Clarke (Dead Space) is a system engineer.
+Jay Trison In Duke 3D it's a reference to Doomguy from Doom yes, but in this one it's a reference to Dead Space because of the corpse (Isaac Clarke)'s armour, so he's right.
+dracopo that's Isaac from dead space
I think its 2 easter eggs in 1 because it call back to the that's one doomed space marine easter egg, but he say "dead space marine" as in Dead Space the game. and the helmet looks exactly like issac clarke's
dracopo It's actually a different reference. The doom one was in the original Duke nukem but this is a dead space reference.
they put more time into the ego caps and Easter eggs than the entire base game.
I think the "Nukum Video Presents" thing is a reference to the first Duke Nukem game where they originally had to call it "Duke Nukum" because of some sort of copyright problem.
3:53. It's a reference to the Postal series.
9:10 "nukum video presents" is a reference to Duke Nukem's original name being "Duke Nukum", because before Duke Nukem was born, there was a TV show called "Captain Planet and the Planeteers." And they have a character called "Duke Nukem", so to avoid a lawsuit they changed the name, however before Duke Nukem 2 was born, Apogee software realized that Duke Nukem at that time was never registered in the 1st place, so Apogee software registered "Duke Nukem" and made more "Duke Nukem" games.
There is a refrence to the movie "300" in ghosttown which you forgot, if you go into one of the houses and kill some pigs you will hear Duke say: "Tonight we dine in hell" :)
I think all these small details and mini games really contributed to Forever's appeal as a different game. Maybe not a good one, but one that was certainly different.
5:19 LMAO genius
Hmmm i feel like it's supposed to mean something involving a female genital system
@@sethleoric2598 it is
I really don’t understand why this game got so much hate.
14:07 That same line is also used in the Midway arcade game Smash TV.
At the "Hail to the King the Musical" poster, there are two other references: "The Greatest Story Ever Told, now told in music" (is a reference to the name of the film, "The Greatest Story Ever Told" (1965). And the other is "From original score award winning composers, Dodgers and Gamerstein" is a reference to the Music and songwriters, Rodgers and Hammerstein.
Good video, thank you :)
the first one "step 3 profit" is from south park
check out the underpants gnomes episode
4:47 this plate is also a reference to the Duke Nukem 3D level "Babeland".
I've been waiting for this
No one can deny they certainly put a lot of thought into all the various things you can do. It is nice to have all the various interactions and secrets. Just a pity about that weapon system though; you don't really feel as awarded like you would in 3D since that ammo box guarantees you never really run out. A very notable instance of feeling awarded in 3D is in L.A Meltdown; from Death Row onwards the Jetpack is a very rare item; you don't get it unless you do the secret level (Launch Facility) or find it in the area where the Battlelord is. Plus in 3D you actually had to be careful with your ammo and health so no doubt any extras you could find through secrets certainly helped.
Damocles178 h
Yeah I do agree with the post game launch being an improvement. Personally I thought Forever was pretty fun. I'm just surprised they didn't try to modernise the old formula. In 3D there was nothing nicer than finding a weapon in a hidden area that you otherwise wouldn't get till later in the game :)
Best one so far thanks brother.
@7:34 the "game over man" on the alien game is a reference to Aliens (1986)
my digs from multiplayer was the greatest thing ever.
I was one level off from getting the video poker machine. but I couldn't find a lobby anymore.
I would always use the game stop bunny t-shirt. and everyone asked how I got it lol
going postal might also be reference to postal 1&2 where the term used was that
also the dead space marine also is a reference to issac clarke from dead space , he wears an identaical helmet , and the enemies he fight are simmilarily grotesque
MarkuS the is completely different from dead space
or in doom 3 where u go insane a when u cind a red skull
Around 14:00 there is the referance to Doc Holiday "I am your huckleberry " meaning the man u seek. From the film tombstone.
And there was historical proof that John "Doc" Holiday actually said that a lot.
I actually enjoyed watching this
The Morningwood sign could be a reference to the show Deadwood also the population constantly being crossed out could be a reference to My Name is Bruce, starring Bruce Campbell, AKA Ash from Army of Darkness
Morning wood is when you wake up with an erection
Breathing air bubbles underwater is a refference from Sonic games I think.
5:29 Sounds Like Playing Dead Space Series
Glad to see that there is atleast one Borderlands easter egg :D
This game was great in my opinion. The only thing that bothered me was the lack of split screen and coop, and in multiplayer the rocket launcher is a bit too op.
They really don't want to put Serious Sam easter egg after what Croteam did to Skeleton Duke got shot with missile at the dick part in Serious Sam 2 (not Second Encounter but 2)
You know you're old when the most obvious easter egg to you is a monty python reference, which is missing in this video.
ON level 7, you can interact with the phome and it has a really creepy message. Idk why though
duke nukem, the most badass character ever
JOHNNY F*KING GAT ALL THE WAY
kraven_m ps3 yeah true there was one on the strip club on the statue (i dot know the name im canadian)
+kraven_m ps3 depends on what version SR3-4 Gat is shit, SR1-2 Gat is good
fartsnstuf I loved saints row 2 saints row 3 and 4 is a giant middle finger
I think the Fah-gina number plate might be a reference to Austin Powers
Alottah Fagina,.. "Oh i just thought said a lot of... Hehehe"
14:13
I was waiting for a half life reference, I'm not disappointed
EDF (Earth Defence Force) is a video game series
I honestly enjoyed playing this game
Okay, I thought the Marcus Fenix reference was a bit too much when I first played it.
5:32
Also many people probably noticed this but, is that Isaac Clark's helmet from dead space?
Yep
do they have to mention dead space in Borderlands they are two of my favorite games I never knew about the heart thing either with the barrel
The clock you find in the game uses the time from the system time. ;)
double easter egg at 3:52 back to the future reference to the 1.21 gigawatts to power the DeLorean
The opening scared the crap out of me
"Dammit Leeroy!"
10:14 Those aren't bottle caps...
What are they then
I Like Cheese 1234 Nipple Tassels.
@@takoshihitsamaru4675 same thing
at around 5:32 you say he's referencing something from 'Gears' ... that's incorrect. The game he's referencing comes out of his own mouth- "Dead Space" is the game related to the dismembered corpse in the shot.
Game Looks fun. Might buy it sometime.
there's some stuff you got wrong like the deadspace thing and the "bottle caps"
7:22 I dont... i dont get it
That my good sir is Issac Clark.
i expected more references from a duke nukem game
duke says "why dont you teleport to hell" its a reference to doom and its one dead space marine reference to dead space i mean look at that guy hat
"The treasure of the Sierra Madre" when I hear Sierra Madre, I hear Fallout New Vegas: Dead Money!
+WorkGalaxy47 Same here. Did you know you can escape the casino vault?
Aaron Leonard of course I know that, I completed the DLC twice and I think it's fun, I don't know why people say it's terrible, it's a DLC that focuses on survival and I played the Fallout series long enough to know that it's based on survival!
You don't have to be a smartass
Aaron Leonard I'm not, I thought you were trying to say that I never beated it so I told you I did, if I was a smartass I would've told you all the enemies, temp. companions, places and the main antagonist plus I would've treated you like a dumbass but I would never do that to a person except if they were being pricks!
I think we could be friends, you and I.
0:57 *You wanna touch it, don't you?*
Please Gordon, put on your suit.
If you score a 3 point shot, you get three points of Ego, instead of 1 where you shot from.
i think the dead space marine is a reference to dead space cuz it looks like Isaac's helmet
Love playing this game
you missed a few. the book Duke signs is a reference to Duke nukem two
He also missed this one "I am from LA and i say kill those alien Bastards!" Refrerance to the Starship Troopers movie where Rico says that in the camera Who says Buenos Aires, instead of LA.
Look at the left of the picture at 8:45 ... is that Duke?
Artuurs Z. Oh ok
Why do people hate this game actually, played the demo and it felt pretty good
its wasnt a doom easter egg it was a dead space easter egg
Have you played Duke Nukem 3D, this dead space Easter egg is a reference to a Doom Easter egg they made in 3D where he says that's one doomed space marine.
It is a callback to Duke Nukem 3D but that is also Issac Clark's helmet they dead guy is wearing
That is why i said this dead space Easter egg is a reference too the DN3D one
Kellan Merritt next time say what your talking about
I believe the opening joke is a reference to South Park Season 2 Episode 17.
And the helmet looks like the dead space helmet at the dead space marine part
The another interesting plate it´s a reference of Austin Powers 3 Goldmember
or i belive was the 2nd i don´t remeber, just i know that´s a reference
T he space marine is issac clark from dead space
I remember i bought this for $8 at GameStop and the employee recommended for me to not buy it
Lol
For 8 bucks it's alright. It's not a bad game it's just kinda mediocre... In everyway possible
he said "captain america bottle caps" these are for nipples 😂
Welcome to MorningWood.
didnt know i was watching achievement hunter
Captain America 'bottle caps', for the 'milk bottles', I guess... (Dude those are pasties, are you for real? :P)
the domed space marine is actually a dead space reference
It wasnt a bad game. It was pretty clever but they didnt have alot time to work it all out. Because the delevopers changed a few times and the last one just had one year and a like 6 years old engine... No wonders to await.
cigar is in quake 3 arena intro =)
I have no doubt that this was demonitized
I think u miss one of the ester eggs and its near whiteboard in first mission there is two television that show fallout loading screen
if its my birthday and i see cake..it means is a reference to Portal?
Yes
Damn it dude, it's dead space marine not doomed or anything.
5:38 aren't those the doors on high charity at the end of halo 3
I believe so but I'm not sure haven't played Halo 3 in a long time
The space guy is from dead space
5:33 its a reference to dead space 1
5:32 funny how it isnt from doom and how it is from dead space.......
Not dead space
yes it is dead space issac clarks severed head
chucky jr agreed
Old comment, but it's a callback to a previous easter egg in Duke3D. You can find a corpse of Doomguy in a church, and finding Isaac Clarke's corpse is a throwback to that easter egg.
Fleischgewehr yeah i know good idea though.
As a HUGE Fallout fan I'm disappointed that they didn't do any references to New Vegas
you forgot about the mountain with the gat face in the strip club a reference to saint throw
at 3:49 you made a reference to the terminator phased plasma rifle in which you were correct, i can confirm that for the actual movie Terminator 1 which was a pretty good movie
haha the psycho was even still cel shaded
Chaingun rocks
There's one Easter egg you forgot after the alien queen fight the timer on the board says 4:20 if you don't know what it's means your most likely a 2 year old it's a weed joke also the board says the score is 6-9
The first Easter Egg is a south park reference
You forgot Leroy Jenkins
bucket head (master cheif pounds a bucket in his head) look who's talking
Shark on the pier was from Far Cry.
Hmmm... i know it may be because i'm too used to safer games now (well safer as in more gore rather thann... yknow) but how did this get past censors?
I don't think my parents let me play this game after watching this video
you miss phone calls
