Idea for story with similar theme:
The story focuses on a teenager who isn't into athletics. He is bullied regularity by an arrogant jock in his class who along with his friends torments him in gym class. In the changing room, he is picked on, harassed, mocked for his wimpiness, and even beaten. At one point, he even comes back into the changing room to find that the jock had thrown his school clothes into the toilet. The student complains to his gym teacher about the way he is being treated. The gym teacher, out of sympathy, allows him to start changing in his office where he will be safe and have privacy. The jock and his friends only mock him and ask if he and the gym teacher are friends now.
Meanwhile, the school track and field day is approaching and the guys knows that he will perform poorly as he usually does every school year. After reflecting on his past embarrassments during the event, he decides he doesn't want to participate and wants to fake sick. When he tells the gym teacher of his doubts, the teacher gives him a bottle containing something that will help him. He tells him to drink from it every day and bring it to him at the end of gym class so he can refill it with the magic liquid. So the guy starts drinking the contents the next gym class and returns it to the teacher at the end of class, where the teacher gives it back after refilling it. As a result, the guy's attitude about gym class and the upcoming track and field day improves. He becomes more confident, something that the jock and his friends see. He begins to enjoy gym class even more and starts working out at home.
On track and field day, the guy participates in each of the events, drinking from the magic bottle before each event, then getting the bottle refilled by the gym teacher, all of which that the jock witnesses. He manages to actually outperform most of his bullies in each event, save for the jock. In the final event, which happens to be a hundred yard dash, he outraces the jock and wins first place. But as he is receiving his ribbon, the jock, refusing to accept his loss, claims that he has been taking a performance enhancing substance and even presents the bottle to the judges as proof, and that the gym teacher was in on it. But since the bottle is empty, the guy is asked to take a urine test to confirm the accusation. The gym teacher is told that if the accusations are true, he will be fired and his license revoked.
The results of the urine test come quickly where to the jock's shock, nothing is wrong. The gym teacher then reveals a surprising truth to everyone. The magic liquid inside the bottle was just plain water. Because the guy truly believed that it was magic, he gained self-confidence. The teacher tells him that all he needed in order to succeed was confidence, which was in him all along. Then to everyone's surprise, a police officer reveals that he found a stache of performance enhancing drugs in the jock's locker in the changing room. The jock is disqualified, his awards stripped, and to complete his humiliation, he is arrested and ultimately expelled from school.
As a result of his experience, the guy has become more athletic and enjoys gym class more often. The other bullies who tormented him in gym class back off and leave him alone without their leader.
