    Does this apply to Ventura OS in the same way? I have tried to, but Desk video shows UltraStudio monitor but Mac does not connected to additional monitor through UltraStudio.

    We only need 4 outputs, and 2x monitor 3g will be a quarter of the price of a decklink duo in South Africa..
    Do you think propresenter would work with the two native supported displays and 2x ultrastudio monitor 3g's?

    • @ProfitandPixels
      @ProfitandPixels  Před 2 lety +1

      Sure, it should in theory. I don’t know if there is a problem of the Mac getting confused between 2 duplicate output devices. It also eats up both of your Thunderbolt ports, leaving you with only the USB-A ones for other accessories. Check FB and see if anyone has had success with this approach

    I’m an audio guy so please bear with me! 😅 I have a Mac Mini and a Blackmagic UltraStudio 4k mini. Pro presenter works with the device as it should and outputs to two LED screens. My question is whether or not I’m able to output any other applications or simply use the UltraStudio as a second monitor that I could drag another window to? Example: outputting PowerPoint or a Zoom call to the screens. Right now Propresenter seems to be the only way to output content to the screens.

    Thank you for this video. For whatever reason, its my understanding that we can use this to send a zoom gallery from my macbooks secondary as an input on my switcher? I have an HDMI to SDI converter but the thunderbolt to hdmi adapter gets so hot. What is a viable work around? Do I need a different piece of gear or use an application to input zoom into my switcher as an input?

    • @ProfitandPixels
      @ProfitandPixels  Před rokem +1

      Adapters getting hot isn’t too much to worry about, but you might want to get a better quality one. You can run any video signal from your computer to your switcher as long as your computer “sees” the output

    Hello Grace Point Church here, we are purchasing a new Mac Mini M2 Pro to run our Pro Presenter, need 4 outputs for 2 projectors and 2 monitors. Small church didnt want the expence of the duo, can i use 2 separate ultra studio monitor 3g side by side, the M2 Pro has 4 thunderbolt 4 hookups

  • @QuicksilverSG
    @QuicksilverSG Před rokem +2

    The Blackmagic UltraStudio Monitor 3G is an excellent option for video apps that support it. However, the UltraStudio Monitor display is not recognized by MacOS as a desktop video device and cannot be used to mirror or extend your primary display. That's great when you want to give exclusive video access to an app like ProPresenter that supports the UltraStudio Monitor 3G, not so great with apps like Resolume or VLC that can't use it. For apps that can only work with extended desktop monitors, a simple Thunderbolt-to-HDMI dongle is the way to go.

    • @ProfitandPixels
      @ProfitandPixels  Před rokem

      Yep. But since the GPU of the M1 only supports 3 displays, this video output becomes necessary in a lot of situations. It’s definitely not the first thing to buy if you’re just running a projector.

      @@ProfitandPixels so am i understanding this right........since the mac mini has two video outs one could be for reference display and one to Atem. Would i plug this ultrastudio monitor 3G into the second thunderbolt port to give me the option of adding a third display? What i need to do with my mac mini is find a way to have my normal computer monitor, a video out to the ATEM mini pro and then another to our projectors. thank you

    • @ProfitandPixels
      @ProfitandPixels  Před rokem

      @@joshbogus4118 so use the HDMI output for your display, use a USB-C dongle for a second HDMI output, and then use the UltraStudio Monitor for your third via a USB-C port. If you need more than that, you'll want to invest in a Sonnet Echo Express and DeckLink Duo setup.

    • @ProfitandPixels
      @ProfitandPixels  Před 2 lety

      No, you can’t use both outputs at the same time, it just lets you choose which cable output is best

    • @ProfitandPixels
      @ProfitandPixels  Před 2 lety

      Yes, that is a very common use case. But make sure you have the correct device, the one in this video is output-only.

    • @ProfitandPixels
      @ProfitandPixels  Před 2 lety

      That’s because it’s a video output, not a display, technically. ProPresenter should see it as an output option.

    One thing I never see on any videos is what is being shown on the screen. Im using the ATEM software control on my computer monitor but I can’t see any video. I have a Mac studio, ATEM mini pro iso, canon vixia hf 50. In the software I can’t see any video from the camera. I can take a ‘capture still’ from the media tab. It shows up in the stills. I was able to ‘ record stream’ in the switcher tab….and even though I can’t see anything in the ATEM software I was able to go to the file storage location and there was the files with the recording. I’m assuming I should be able to see what the cameras are showing somewhere in the ATEM software on my monitor. In that black space on the right in the ‘camera tab’ or on the ‘switcher tab’? When I click the ‘capture video’ in the ‘switcher tab’ it tells me I require the black magic ultra studio or deck link card. Do I need to get the ultra studio 3g you show, connect the hdmi out from the mini pro iso into it, then a thunderbolt 3 cable into the Mac studio? And then I’ll see the video in the ATEM software? Any help greatly appreciated

    • @ProfitandPixels
      @ProfitandPixels  Před 2 lety

      Ernesto, that is because you need a separate Multiview monitor. The control software does not show the video. There is an output on the switcher for this

      They are high-bandwidth USB cables. They look like USB-C, but cost much more. Essential for most Mac devices to connect to video peripherals
