Hi... This is Mansoor. I am running a washing powder manufacturing unit. I want to know the confirmation test for sodium perborate and it's dosage in detergent powder. Pls help me in this case.
I have redone u synthesis with the exact same amounts of starting material but used a magnetic stirrer to mix the solution.
Shortly after I added the h2o2 it all chrasht out and I had a slurry, I stirred it for 20min and after filter, washing and drying I got 30g 🤔 anyone have an idea what’s wrong here 🤷🏻♂️
I have the same issue also using a stir bar however mine started crashing out or crystallizing within 10 mins of stirring. I think the solution was too cold in the ice bath. Out of curiosity, I gently heated the solution with a hot water bath and it started liberating bubbles, presumably oxygen. This makes me think the reaction occurred correctly, but more rapidly then expected with the stir bar. I'm going to dry the first batch and test in my application. If it fails, I will repeat it but try a cold water bath at around 10°C and mixing for 2 minutes with the stir bar before letting it stand to form larger crystals for easier washing/rinsing and filtering.
trace amount of transitional metals/oxides/salts will speed up H2O2 decomposition. Notice this guy is using glass.
