- Merry Christmas! This week I'm bringing you into the Foothills State Forest. It is located west of Pine River Minnesota. I arrived Saturday morning and had three peaceful days alone in the woods. It was an icy, wet, quiet weekend, perfect for my soul. I love the solitude that camping deep in the forest provides. Saturday, I went on a walk down a cross-county ski trail. I found shelter from the rain in a lean-to. As I sat listening to the rain drops fall into the metal roof, I was reminded how thankful I am for having the channel. Without the camera, I wouldn't have been alone in the woods on Christmas Eve finding shelter from the rain. It was peaceful and recharged my mind for another week at work. I decorated the camper with cards I received from viewers and opened gifts on Christmas morning. It was an awesome day to be alive.
I was able to celebrate Christmas with the family last week. This weekend my kids were with their mom, and Mandi had to work the holiday. Next week is New Years, and I'll be in the camper sharing the weekend with you again. I'm not sure where we are going but I hope there's a firepit wherever we end up. I have a Prime Rib that I'd like to smoke over the open fire. It's going to be delicious.

The comments never cease to amaze and disappoint. You know nothing of my situation. My girlfriend works at the hospital. She works every holiday. I'm divorced. My kids were with their moms family. You would have seen in the previous video how i celebrated Christmas with my family the prior week. Some people are so quick to pass judgment.

How are you going to judge a stranger you know zero about through a youtube video? Who cares his reason for doing what he enjoys, maybe he grew up camping with his Dad during Christmas and wants to continue the tradition? He may not even celebrate Christmas...think twice before you project your twisted thoughts onto someone you know nothing about.
I swear, it's like watching Mr. Rogers goes camping. Great wholesome entertainment for all.

Kenny is an inspiration for me as well with the year round camping. I use my camper every week, I travel for work and it is my home away from home. This’ll be my first year ever camping in the winter. So far, it’s going well. I get more confidence in my own adventures every week, thanks to Kenny

I found your channel from Larry’s. Loving your videos. Don’t know if I could do truck camper camping like you guys do but this summer I will be getting a motorhome and traveling with my little dog Charlee (girl). I am learning all I can right now. My husband passed away and the kids are grown and need to get their own lives so I am going to travel and go see all of the things my husband and I had hoped to see before he passed. This is what he wanted me to do. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Maybe I will see you on the road one day.

Funny, I stayed away from online not thinking that you would have ventured out until on or after the new year. What a lovely surprise! Thanks Jack. I pulled off an all- nighter. Today, I was scrambling at work. I spent my lunch break designing the thumbnail. My last 15-minute break was spent writing the description. But it all came together. Thankfully, we have decent internet at work and the video uploaded quickly. Your video this week makes me want to head up to the North Shore. I have Monday off next week for New Years. I might have to head up there Friday night.

Looks like you had the same weather as us.............warm & wet. I almost went trout fishing Sat but Caryl had other plans for me. Fishing vids on CZcams will have to keep me going for now.
I think we had more rain this weekend than we had this past fall & summer. I can handle the snow and ice but mud is something else. One thing about it where you're at the snow & ice is a certainty.
Hope the "grabber" is a help in cleaning up others messes...............great of you to do that!

@@mandib757 Thanks Mandi, we're actually having our kids and Grandkids Christmas this Friday. Gives everybody a rest from being ham'd and turkey'd out on the 24th & 25th. We have a nice 4.50 Lb bottom round roast sitting in the fridge.

I got sick of trying to screw those ice anchors in by hand went to harbor freight found a cheapo deep socket cut it down the middle, I just use the drill now to screw them in works good.
Great idea. I already have the drill on the ice for the auger. I'll cut a slit on a deep socket this week. It's gonna go right in the pouch with the anchors.
They work good I think clam and Eskimo actually make a drill adapter but they were kind of pricey.
I think I would be afraid to walk out on the ice, l like your night walks.
The overhead shot at 19:45 almost made me gasp…just stunning. And big thanks to you for picking up trash. I do the same thing, and I just shake my head as to why others are so inconsiderate. Have a great year this year. From down here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Wow! Those conditions sound dangerous. We call snow falls of that depth widow makers. I've seen a few old times have heart issues trying to clear their steps and sidewalks.
