He's singing as if the person he wrote the song about was right there in front of him. A lot of emotion, I love it.
bruh this comment has me crying man dont do this to me ugh 😭
@@user-ms8eg It really be like that lmao
I like that sunflower strat a lot.
dude this fucking drummer is tight as hell
+Ralph Waldo Picklechips the magic of click track in the studio headphones helps but still
+Ralph Waldo Picklechips i dont think they are using a click track, listen to all the time signature changes and tempo changes... they hold the beat back beautifully at times, i doubt that'd be happening with a metronome. Headphones are probably just there so they can hear properly
Gustavo Stefanelli Chill, cool, gnarly💀💀
Ralph Waldo Picklechips Love your name.
dude :D Seriously, these are not the kind of musicians that need metronome. It's clearly sensable that the rhythm is in their veins and they become one with the music they play... Metronome, come on..
Love King Krule. But dam mad respect to his drummer. This performance. Young talent at its finest.
+Stephen Imsong his drummer is so good
+Stephen Imsong its his brother
+ANDRE NICHOLAS CHELLIAH no it's not...?
I'm guessing you've never seen a drummer in your life if you're impressed by that.
instantsurgery I'm guessing you've never played drums in your life. That drummer is so goddamn tight, this song wouldn't be the same without him.
"Girl I coulda been someone... to you" favorite line. so poignant.
Jennifer Barnett it's so hard hitting every line string strummed snare tapped
toilet paper // she misspelled ‘pig mints’, mints only for pigs because of how strong they are at decomposing the massive amounts of gunk in their teeth. They could destroy the enamel of a human tooth in seconds. By referencing pig mints she is accentuating the emotional impact of the line she quoted
RIGHT
@@tilttrip210 LOL
I come back for that line specifically
Fuckers are in sync with eachother as fucking hell holy fuck. look at how timely the drummer is on his headphones.
so young but musically so mature.. Some "musicians" that have 20 year experience can't create this kind of atmosphere. So smooth andsubtle,. They play together so well, all in function of the song, no egotripping. this is talent iI guess.
Agreed 100%
Yep you nailed it
Still here in 2020, this is timeless
I would only cut the end
same
I'm here
yes
2021
drummer is so in the zone i love it
that little interlude is the most wavy sunset thing on the earth
4:21 damn so interesting to see that this part turned into the intro to the ooz. He's a genius, you can tell these songs truly take years to perfect.
That solo at the end got me I have to admit
that guitar is beautiful
KCRW i am not fucking happy - king krule blesses you with this masterpiece and you put that shit outro on after, how to kill the mood 101
AMEN!! Such a damn mood killer.
Still here in 2023, this song is ageless
I don't know what it is about his music... I think it just sounds so real and raw. Love it.
Drummer's very good
Yup
Very tight
6 years of listening to this album. I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of it
I wouldn't say his singing is "shit," rather it is heavily reliant on stylistic character as opposed to tonal accuracy. Sure he slurs some of his words and he does not sing like the musicians we hear on the radio, but it's something about his disregard for perfection that adds character to his music. It's something musicians don't really seek anymore - that is, they don't try to use their voices to convey their uniqueness and character. I personally enjoy the way he sings, and I think it is completely fitting for his musical approach. I would not be as drawn to his music had his voice been entirely technical.
Moses he's also stoned to the bone
It's like Bob Dylan. He doesn't have a naturally pretty sounding voice, but it's still iconic and great for the music they make.
magical id typically say HOW DARE YOU COMPARE DYLAN TO THIS TRASH! but this is indeed NOT trash. king krule is actually pretty dope and i usually hate todays noise
His tone is beautiful
FartBlunt 420 What are you even trying to say?
I don't think people understand how good archy marshal is, the solo he does at the end is the same line as the sax part on 'Bob the Bob' by The Lounge Lizards. Mind blown.
King Krule never get lost again and please continue to make some full-of-emotions artifacts like this ... I want to collect them all I am hungry, peace from France dude
This hugs me in places nobody could ever
a wave of nostalgia
clarisa flores ur name is 10/10 💗
Love how the beat switches from a soulful beat to a more modern RnB beat, so fresh
Listening to this during rainy bike rides
Same.
I do this all the time! Best feeling ever!
me too ✌️
King Krule is best listened on rainy days.
He sounds so effortlessly good!
almost 10 years and this song is still one of my favorites
I just recently heard of King Krule after listening to Mac DeMarco and it was by far one of the best finds I've found in a very long time. He had such a unique style of singing that makes him stand out.
I always end up re-watching this video. I love it soooo much, he is such an amazing artist and just too underrated. I will never get tired of this song. I love that melancholy feeling.
+Jodelein Garcia dont forget the band they are talented a well
Come back
They're so connected and tuned in to the music they play its amazing
This is the best version of this song for me, by a long way.
imagine if this performance was inside a giant peach with a violin playing cricket, now that'd be something
lmao
ashooby Genius ☺
thank u for this comment
bruh
bruh my inner kid thanks you lol
I watch this every day man🎧 this band is so extremely tight I almost forget how young these guys really are. and that guitar is beautiful👌
Whenever 4:49 hits the soundwaves once again refuels my soul.
I kind of like the fact that I can't understand exactly what he is saying, yet I feel it lmao...
Makes his talent and appeal that much more intriguing.
I cannot get over how great this kid is.
I was watching this with headphones just now in the dark and I look over and there's a huge roach crawling right next to my head i nearly shit myself
It wanted to bump too.
lmao
i snorted
MY BABY
Soooooo smooth
Listening while on the night shift and it's pouring down outside. Soothing...
holy shit man... this song blows me away...
drummer is N I C E
just too good.
been coming back to these videos every so often for the last few years now and I can sit and watch them for hours
That drummer with the time signature changes really sets the mood, excelent job.
And they have the guts to say gingers don't have soul...
lol im high and thought that said gay singers i was so confused
DSL Returns Lol this isn't Soul music. I love King Krule so no disrespect to the guy, but if you think that this song where he sounds like as if he's half sedated when singing is Soul then you're highly mistaken. Listen to gospel music, THAT is music with soul. For example search Nick Jonas's gospel version of his song Jealous
hes strawberry blonde
well, don't know if he had one on the first place, but he sure took the one of an old gone bluesman .. listen to his voice .. he sounds like he's already seen so much, still not even 20 .. sweet stuff right here
he's 22 mate
i just can not explain how much i luv this guy and his songs.
baby blue is one of my favorite songs of him. he's the bezzzt eva.
This is really beautiful. He has a way of making great music and still add so much more to the songs when playing them live. Truly amazing.
This type of talent only comes out of the UK these days I swear man
+Trent Gallagher brillian minds in there
+Trent Gallagher I'm darn near about to agree with you.
+Trent Gallagher honestly. sampha, james blake, mount kimbie, among others
Trent Gallagher personally, i believe it's because the UK has an older atmosphere than say america
another good artist out of the UK is cosmo pyke, he sounds a bit like king krule
This video it’s just so damn good I’ve been watching it like once a day. They play so well together you can see it from how they’re just feeling out the music and reading each other. The drummer is exceptional. Very solid performance
his voice is beautifully unique, it’s what makes him king krule, his slurs and scoops and growls give that style and oomph. By far my number one artist
This hurts like Chet baker.
+Desperadow exactly, mellow pain + melancholy
best description of k.k
best comment about this song ever. really. thanks man.
...best ever....
your comment hurts like aunsheweetz
fuck
I love these kids. I hope they make more music like this for many years to come. I can only hope.
it wasnt false hope luckily
U know when u here those songs that are so perfect they make u get the most peaceful beautiful feeling. Love u kruse..
he's so cute i love him.
Couldn't be anymore in love with this song.
Baby blue
My sandpaper sigh
Engraves a line
Into the rust of your tongue
I could've been someone
To you
Would have painted the skies blue
Baby blue
If you knew
Baby blue
Edging closer
You swing my way
I've got no chance
And nothing to say
But stay
Here for a while
Baby blue
But if only
You could see
My shadow crossing your path
It won't be the last
Baby blue
this is literally the only reason im getting this essay done
Another great soulful musician of this generation.
Teo Yoo sent me here 🤘🏻 그가 나를 여기로 또르르 ❤️
i watch this at least once everyday
Heard this in 2014 for the first time and it’s still my favourite song of all time
I WANT HIS STRAT! Damn it looks so good and I'm obsessed with sunflowers. But I know I wouldn't look half as cool as Archy. What a King.
Favourite from him, just...because it's pure magic to my soul.
Aye hell yea this was recorded 7 years ago on my birthday😁!! Hella cool to stumble upon a king krule live session that was recorded on my birthday!! Thanks for the hella awesome surprise present Archy😁🤙🏻🥁🎸🎉💯.
Nothing beats the smile after a good jam session
Its nice to see all the positivity here, just goes to show how powerful and beautiful this piece is. It transcends all negativity you find on youtube vids, Thank you Krule! This is beautiful
How cool you are to have discovered him back then.
Still my favorite song from him so much soul
man talk about a ginger with soul. really dope
I still get chills listening to this
Everything about this is raw and it's rad
Mind Blowing. This is so Beautiful.
I love him soo Hard
Love this song , just sounds so good
I’ll never stop listening to this
this was so soulful, and that guitar is absolutely beautiful!
Bless this performance
November 2020: i still love it
This is really beautiful. Sounds so good.
so heavenly so blue and so cruel so smooth like an endless swimming pool The way your voice curls around the air is all the magic of the world in sync. Pure perfection squished into 6 minutes but stretched into my subconscious infinity
love this jam session. it's so honest.

A modern-day Holden Caulfield. Out of this world.
