Excellent breakdown of the regs on these streams! Thanks for posting this, it will help a lot of anglers!
Thank you for taking the time to break this down! Much appreciated.
We live just over the line in Tennessee. I have been wanting to do some fishing over around Boone, Asheville and Roan Mtn area of NC but I wanted to make sure I understood the regs. I never keep fish and use only single hook artificial lures so neither of these would be a problem. Thanks to this great video I feel confident that I understand the the regs. The Wildlife Agency should use this video on their website. Great job and will be shopping at your shop in Boone pretty soon. Have shopped once before on a weekend and you guys were so busy I didnt bother with questions....thanks for this great video sir.
Great Video! Very Informative!
At 48 years old, I'm just now getting into fishing. I love visiting the forest and streams and thought fishing would be a great opportunity to combine these things. The more I read, the more confused I've become though until I found this video. Very helpful....
What about fishing where there is no posted reg? - I'm looking at the fishing areas map and notice there are plenty of waters not highlighted - like the French Broad for example
Awesome video! Lots of good important info. Thank you!
Thanks for your time and information. Man my head hurts trying to figure all this out. God bless thanks very much.
Great video! As someone who is new to this region and looking into getting into the sport; the laws can be pretty confusing. This was very helpful
Awesome video with great information. It boggles my mind & aggravates me to no end when I see anglers breaking the law. Unfortunately, many ignore the laws & many are willfully ignorant of the law. Well done!
Carolina Woods-n-Water it’s unfortunate but all we can do is understand the regulations and watch out for people who are breaking the rules.
Thanx. I believe I'll look you guys up the next time I get up there.
Great video! I appreciate the information! I was so confused when I moved here from MT
Thanks for the info! See ya this week. My wife and kids will be skiing I will be trout fishing.
Thank you! Great, informative video.

Thank you. Very helpful.
Thank you. Great info.
Great channel thank you
Well done!!
Great info
Thank you 😊
Hi liked your video allot. I'm from PA and we have similar rules. After watching your video I'd say October would be the best time to fish your delayed harvest. I only fly fish with a 3wt catch and release single hook no barb. What's you take on the best time to come down and do some fly fishing? Thanks
did not know that articulated was not allowed on Delayed Harvest. THANKS for that.
Great video! new subscriber. Go APPS!
The main fly shop I go to is due south in Boone
Any tips on where to go in that area? I'm headed up that way to fish tomorrow but I've never done much inland fishing
Thank you. I needed this. But what if a stream isn't marked at all? The stream coming into Todd comes to mind. It isn't marked, there are not any trespassing signs and the guys hanging out at the restaurant said it's okay to fish. So why isn't anyone fishing it? Are they setting me up?
What’s the name of your shop’s in Boone and Banner Elk, I live in Winston, but have have lived in both Boone and Banner Elk?
Hi, your video was awesome. I am new to the sport, any tips or advice you could give me if I wanted to fish some of the rivers up here in Boone?
Go hang out at a fly shop. People will generally be very helpful
Ok. So when it opens in June, after the youth only, then can you fish the delayed harvest stretches with bait and a spinning rod for catch and keep?
1:23 When ever its not under Delayed Harvest, Hatchery Supported Regulations Apply which has no lure restrictions

When do the streams change? When you pass the diamond? If that makes sense
Can you use cented flys in wild waters
I suspect barbless too on the black Diamond waters. (?)
The stream near me has both diamonds stating hatchery supported and Trophy trout water showing conflicting information one says you can keep 7 fish and the other trophy one says 2 over 14"
Usually that means that there are stretches of stream designated as trophy .
Delayed harvest diamond says "All other times hatchery supported regulations apply" doesn't that mean DH is not to be fished in March also??
whats the regulation of when u can snag
I thought delayed harvest starts in June
Can you fish delayed harvest right now? Before April?
Tyler Sanders yep, they just started stocking
Yesser..u can..meet u on the toe
Are those pink power bait worms consider natural bait?
No nothing with scent
What is this mountain heritage fishing license??? You have to have it to fish in some creeks like in ash county which I fish a ton... and it's only good for 3 days at a time... so ever time I fish ash county I have to buy this mountain heritage pass... this is so freaking crazy.. what the hell are they doing
Bro, you are misunderstanding the rule. You can fish any mountain heritage water with the mountainheritahe license but nowhere else. But you can fish the mountain heritage waters legally with ANY license. The mountain heritage program is a way to encourage new anglers to get into fishing these waters because the licenses are only 5 bucks. If that didnt make sense there is an article that NC posted on it that you can find if you look up "mountain heritage fishing license"
Here is the link to the article www.ncwildlife.org/Fishing/Learn-Resources/Programs/Mountain-Heritage-Trout-Waters-Program
Can you sent your fly in wild streams
If you catch and release your good all the time witch is what I do most of the time now days in less we wont to eat a meal some times...
What’s the real reason for the regulations? Just to keep the fish population healthy?
In a few years we will have to go fishing with a lawyer, an ecologist and an animal psychologist so the fish do not suffer from stress anymore
Free man fish when he want and keep what he want
