Nothing is better than a guy who sets himself up to be humiliated like Josh is doing. When you win something for the first time and don't know if you can repeat it, you should be humble and gracious because in all likelihood, you will lose the next one. Since Josh built himself up so much, it will be humiliating when he realizes that it was a flash in a pan. If you're going to talk this much ****, you should at least be consistently winning first.
I absolutely love this guy, so calm and humble and congrats his competitors. Humble in victory, gracious in defeat, massive respect to Josh Kerr, wish Jakob had that attitude, makes me glad Kerr beat Jakob at the 1500 2023 championship. You can be the best runner in history, but if you aren't respectful and kind towards your competitors and to the common people, respect goes down fast.
Kerr is starting to act like he did back in ‘18 after settling the NCAA DI 1500m record while @ UNM - watch/re-watch the 2018 NCAA 1500m championships in Eugene to see how that season turned out
Both great athletes, both incredibly competitive and tough but for me Jacob just has that killer instinct which will result in him coming out on top in the end. Josh is a decent guy and really wish him well, love to be wrong.
Yeah, Josh beat Jakob in Budapest 1500m, but if Jakob was not 100% in the final (as he said) then maybe we should consider that when comparing Jakob and Josh. Anyway, I just wish to see them both healthy and in good shape next summer!
