For pure warlock can I use the knife of the undermountain king without have proficiency with it or do I need the proficiency for the abilities

Use bloodlust elixir for an extra 3 eldritch blast per turn.
Can’t believe no one mentions this op elixir. It lasts all day and you can pretty mich have the buff up the entire game.

you can find it around the place sometimes but it's better to craft it with alchemy. Worg fangs are the source of bloodlust potions.@@SSJuno
I would argue that the best feat for any caster is alert - it is an A tier feat in tabletop as well, but in BG3 it is easily top3. It practically guarantess that you go first, because they changed the init die to a d4. You also cannot lose turn to ambush (though that rarely occurs anyway). An extra turn every combat > any boost provided by other feats. You can always put down your darkness or cover your enemy with hunger of hadar before they get a chance to move.

Another great Build Video but I do think it would be great if you could have written steps for what to take at each level or have a more followable stucture to the video with some timestamps. Loving all the guides, helps me enjoy BG3 so much more, thank you for the content!

If you reeeaaallly wanted to, you can run fighter 2/warlock 2/sorcerer 5/thief 3 to get a second bonus action. This lets you quicken twice to get 15 eldritch blasts in a single turn. You do lose out on a feat doing this, and with barely any sorcery points you won't be able to do this very often, but 15 beams in one turn is cool. IIRC there's also an item that lets you add an extra beam to one of these casts, letting you get up to 16 beams in one turn.

10:16 I can't fathom that you'd equip Killer's Sweetheart to this build. It's one single guaranteed crit per Long Rest. On a build that already crits a lot. This is a 99% wasted slot, which should be reserved for heavy hitters with no crit setup.

What would you suggest instead?
If you completely miss an attack, you can use it to guarantee a crit which is a hit you wouldn't have otherwise
I personally haven't found much need for killers sweetheart. Especially if you take elithid powers. That being said I think I would also swap the birthright for sarevoks helm. You could also swap the bow for the dead shot and give another bonus to crit. That's obviously not as good as haste but I try not to use it much myself as it trivializes most encounters.
@@jakstheoneandonly Me as of Act 2, I have the Ring of Arcane Synergy equipped, so he can deal some proper weapon damage as a Opportunity attack reaction when an enemy passes him. But I'm sure there are better options by Act 2. Maybe use even just ones that give resistances or certain spells.
@@jakstheoneandonlyI would say go for the calous Glow Ring instead. It gives your eldritch an extra 1-2 radiating damage per shot. As a side note, in my testing the executioner skill doesn't seem to work with spells at the moment.

Pretty neat build (only watched the machine gun one). I think if you would have explained the choices level by level, it would have been much easier to follow. I'm saying this because you were explaining gear then made an abrupt jump to ability scores back to gear. There may be more examples but that was the big one that stuck in my head.

Yeah take the Markoheshkir buff urself once per longrest and you get a free chainlightning and even more electric charges. Also you can twin cast that chainlightning. I oneshotet the dragon in the end fight with this combo... the buff even extends if you swap weapons so you can just use it as a buff stick.

The build seems great overall, but I just have to disagree with the Fighter 2. Action Surge is nice, but outside of the Shortsword Proficiency (which you can get from a racial bonus instead), I don't feel it's really necessary when you weren't using any armors for the build itself. Nice to level with until you get the stuff you want, but then the levels in Fighter feel wasted.
Level 9 in Sorc gives you Level 5 spells and more sorc points. 3rd Level in Warlock gets you Level 2 slots over Level 1 and your Pact Boon; another level gives you a second Feat to choose and a third invocation (very very nice to get for Devil's Sight, Beguiling Influence for +2 skills, or anything else you may want). I can't help but feel in the long run, you get more out of the extra Warlock and/or Sorc levels than mostly just Action Surge (which, yes it's good, but kinda overrated as far as MC builds go).
Starting with Sorc, you'd still get the all-important Con save proficiency and MCing into Warlock still gives Light Armor and Simple Weapons prof. For the Undermountain King Shortsword, you can pick up a race that gives proficiency with it: Elf (never a bad choice), Drow (also nice), or Githyanki (which also gives Medium Armor Prof and a slew of other really good things, some have even called the race OP).
Just to really hammer the point home though, I want to give credit where it's due: While I've written nearly a paragraph of disagreeing with the Fighter 2 in the MC build, the overall build is still solid and either way, you will be destroying things. 👍 You just always need to consider the opportunity cost of things: "Is Action Surge really worth losing Level 5 Sorc spells, Pact Boon, Level 2 Short Rest slots, a potential other feat, more Sorc points, etc?" Personally, I say no.
PS: Nizer, keep making these build videos for BG3, they're very enjoyable!

I'm probably the last to know this, but you can use Shield of Devotion from Act II to farm infinite sorcery points. Every time you toggle equip the shield, you get another level 1 slot to convert. That might change how far you want to level into Sorcerer, if the main reason is for spell slots to convert.
Hey Nizar, actually you can only cast 2 metamagic quickened spells, as they cost 3 sorcery points when applied. So with haste there are 2 stable AP (6 eldritch blasts), and 1 for action surge (each short rest). Sorcery points, however, refresh each long rest, so it's not 9 attacks each turn)
You can turn your spell slots into sorcery points so the 3 points per quickened isn’t as bad as you think when you don’t care about your slots and only more eldritch blasts

Great builds, loved the guide. One thing I would change is that I wouldn't use the spellcrux amulet as the necklace. Not because it's not good but because you can just equip it out of combat, use it's effect to recover a spell slot, and then re-equip whatever damage oriented necklace would best suit this build

@@shanewilliams647 there's a few options. My pick is usually the paralyzing amulet from the surgeon in act 2. Other good options could be the harper amulet or the amulet you you get from mayrina in act 3 for killing the hag
@@shanewilliams647 there is an amulet that can give you an extra level 2 spell slot and unequipping then equipping it gives you an infinite number of level 2 slots for you to create as many sorcery points as possible - dunno if this is a bug or feature but if you don't wanna cheese it use the surgeon's subjugation amulet from Act 2.
Spineshudder amulet is good to wear in combat

Totally agree with you as Eldrich blast uses force damage which is like hitting an enemy with a hammer. Very few enemies have resistances to force damage, unlike the elemental damage types. Its why I prefer wizard over sorcerer as a wizard can change his spells if enemies all have resistance to fire. But a warlock eldrich blasting multiclass is just lethal in all scenarios. Just my experience so far :)
Or just pick elemental adept to ignore resistances 🤷🏽♂️

@@medisshehi9335 either way you dont have to deal with the resistance if an enemy has one. Force being the go to for everything is just an oversight. If I play caster I always go 2 lock just for eb.

When starting from scratch with a new character, do you start with a warlock and then respec later or do you just go with the order as shown in the video, so starting as a fighter then warlock and then sorcerer?
Good build but I prefer to forego Fighter levels for more Sorcerer. Weapon and armor proficiency is not needed as you still gain the effect of Undermountain King without being proficient in shortsword and Action Surge is kinda over-rated in my opinion(at least with level cap of 12 and compared to gaining higher caster level).
Edit* If I did go Fighter I would go ahead and go 3 levels for Champion.
How does the 10 Evo Wizard and 2 Warlock work? With empowered evocation, portent robe and spellmight glove you do 3 eldritch blast each dealing 1d8+1d10+int mod+2x cha mod force damage. Since the haste action for spellcasting isn't nerfed in honor mode atm you can also do 6 shots each turn. Going 18 in int and cha gives you an average output of 63 force damage per EB cast without including ANY damage riders from gears and other effects.
Is a multiclass warlock even considered a warlock since you are basically going all Sorcerer? Or is it just because of the eldritch blast spam?

Love these builds. Given the way equipment is limited, do you think it's feasible to have two characters run both of these builds in one campaign?
I would personally say no, since they both rely on the spell sparkler and having two blasters is usually not needed, but if you're comfortable with the game and not playing honour mode or something you should probably be fine.
How can you max out charisma if you arent getting the ability score? will this work with a companion that doesn't have access to the hag and other stat boosting gear
I was thinking about shadow monk, lore bard, pure warlock and moon druid for team composition on honor mode, how do you think it would perform?
great build. Another variant on this that I am trying is Rogue Warlock Assassin. 10 Rogue Assassian / 2 warlock. In my testing so far, sneak attack damage is added to each beam that hits a different target, which is +5d6 piercing damage at rogue level 9. Using potions of speed and elixir of blood lust for the extra actions (they both work at same time). Being a Rogue you can pickpocket most everyone so arrows, potions, scrolls are essentially unlimited. Thief is great too (even better early game when EB is only one beam), but assassin allows you to auto crit a lot of enemies before combat starts. I remember the sneak attack damage also doubling on a crit. I have also noticed that my +CHAR modifier also gets added to the sneak attack dice, so +5d6 + 7 with 24 CHAR. Insane burst damage.
Requires a bit more tactical maneuvering and stealth, but that's what is fun about a Rouge anyway. For times when you need cc spells, just pop a scroll. Does require you to choose only 2 invocations (AB & devils sight until the eversight ring, then respec for repelling blast), but you get a 3rd feat. ASI +2 CHAR, Spell Sniper (Shocking grasp)
Can be a bit of a one trick pony though and some spells that are better if upcasted like hold person are not as good from scrolls.
Kind sir, how is it possible to have 24 CHA? I thought it is only possible to have 24 STR because of potion in act 2, everything else should be 22 using mirror in act 3, or not?

Setting up with darkness+devils sight, 15 blasts at advantage, thats gonna maim some folks
I think it’s definitely a 7 paladin/5 Warlock pakt of the blade with great weapon master, great weapon fighting and the ring which guaranties a critical hit after a kill
and the amulet which gives you an additional 2nd level spellslot and all gear which improves your chances dor critical hits
then make him an oathbreaker for aura of hate for additional 5dmg per attack
You have 3 guaranteed attacks, 6 with haste
then you can add a 7th attack with great weapon master
you have 2 lvl3 spellslots and 4 lvl 2 spellslots and 4lvl1 spellslots and aura of protection
if you smite every attack you can easily kill every enemy in the game in one turn
This, with arcane synergy (from diadem) for also +5 dmg, you have lvl 3 slot every short rest plus lower level for utilities. And if you want more bulky you can go for duelist + shield

Can you explain why you’re running Birthright? Aren’t you capped at 22 with it? If you go 17 CHA, +1 Hag, + 2 AI and + Mirror, aren’t you already at the cap and the helm would do nothing?
Crit machine gun looks like a great build, one change I made is this; You don't need dual wielder to have 2 weapons. Since you don't actually attack with the weapons (why would you? Eldritch blast is king) you don't need dual wielder at all. There's also a pair of gloves that gives you the option to turn any spell into a touch range spell ignoring the melee range disadvantage which would work great in eliminating the need for smacking people with weapons.
Weapons help with stats
I just checked and this isn't true. It won't let you equip both. (Which you want to do for the bonus abilities they give you)
I suspect the mistake comes from the KUK being a shortsword, not a Dagger

i'm level 7 running full pure warlock build. I chose DUAL WIELD, but when i try to use KNIFE OF THE UNDER MOUNTAIN king, it has no proficiency... can someone help ne?

I still think 10 levels of sorcerer lightning dragon with 2 levels of great old one warlock is the best sorlock build as then have a lot more spell slots and metamagic points. At level 12 with this setup I can easily have up to 22 metamagic points and level 4 and 5 spells as well. I would definitely use the Markoheshkir staff in act 3 over the spellsparkler as not only get lightning charges but level 5 lightning and level 6 chain-lightning spells as well. You also missed out on the reverberation gear for making targets prone with fear. It also helps having a party member who can cast water for the lightning spells (more damage), so perhaps storm sorcerer is better for a solo build.
PS. I would say the most OP build in BG3 is the paladin due to the gear and buffs one gets for a paladin, ie 23 strength, 23 constitution, 20 charisma, and a legendary great weapon.

Is anyone able to tell me how the crit machine gun build is getting a feat at overall level 4? Starts 2 fighter/2warlock, and is somehow getting a feat. If you go 2 warlock/2 fighter you don't get a feat at level 4.

I've been using this build on a couple different play throughs in tactician mode (re-specing Wyll). The downside to this build is if you are in a combat situations, most of my opponents (especially ranged attacks) all target this character due to the low AC and often times this character is down by the 2nd turn. Any suggestions?
You'd cut some damage, but -equipping better armor helps
-you could use warding bond
-keep them very far from combat (eb has the range)
-attack from high ground when possible
Changing the armor would mess you up the most damage wise but might also be the most effective way to keep them up
So do the electric charges work with the eldritch blast

I'd recommend doing it post level 7, multiclassing early levels is usually not a great experience as you're spreading your levels too thin and missing out on early game power.

Does the dual wielder feat actually do anything for this build besides the +1 to AC ? Do you actually need it to get the bonuses from both spellsparker and undermountain ?
It just lets you equip both. That's it, not even a +1 AC... I don't think that's apart of the feat
Think about it like the feat is just all the abilities the KUK gives you.
Do you have to start as a fighter? Or can you start as a worlock and then multiclass in to fighter?
I'd start as warlock get to like level 6 then start this build he as a starter build to use before this 1

the thing with displate is that the glue for the wall mounted magnet looses grip over time, never buy again. All 12 just came crashing down one after the other a few months later, and no its not about the wall, the glue ON the magnet slowly glides of from it
for the multi class build- what about the dead shot weapon? its a bow that gives you almost the same crit buff as the knife of the undermountain king, if we use that cant we get a better buff from a feat instead of having to go dual weilding and then give the knife to someone else maybe? how does that sound

You're missing some crit chance by not equipping the deadshot bow and having the darkfire bow on someone else. I'd also go 2 warlock, 6 sorc, 4 fighter for the champion subclass for that extra crit chance

How about going 3 lvls of Fighter to get Champion subclass to further reduce critical hit by 1?
I personally forego taking Fighter levels all together, I prefer Warlock2/Sorc10 for higher casting levels. But if I did take Fighter levels I would certainly go ahead and take the third level for the Champion subclass. There's really no reason not too as the difference between Sorcerer levels 7 and 8 isn't that great.
Champion is great too, personally I went for the second feat as I got spell sniper which essentially boils down to the same passive as you get with champion (so the outcome is the same) but you also additionally get a cantrip for free. Maybe in that case if you really want to stack as much crit chance as possible, 4 fighter 6 sorc 2 warlock would be the best play and you still would get 2 feats + Champion. I forgot what they're called but there is also a helmet and a bow in the game that increases your crit chance even more, so you could really play around that theme if you want to stack as much crit as possible. Gotta say however with the setup shown in the video I do consistently crit already, so not sure if it would be overkill.
