P-51D Crash! Total disaster 🛩️💥🤦🏻♂️😭 E-Flite P-51D Mustang 1.2m “Cripes A’Mighty 3rd”

- Very first time crashing this beautiful plane.
It all happened so fast.
Just started flying great and started getting a little too confortable and a little too brave.
Had a brain fart 🧠💨 and as I had her upside down, I went up elevator to get out of it with not enough altitude. Lesson learned.
Found it’s an extremely easy to fly plane. So started not paying attention.
Things I learned:
1. Focus on what you are doing.
2. Have awearness of your plane’s orientation.😵💫
3. Inverted: “Up is down. Down is up” dont forget! 🤦🏻♂️
4. Coming at you: “Everything is backwards”🤦🏻♂️
5. Remember where your “Safe Mode” switch is on. Use it!🤦🏻♂️
6. It’s a slow flying airplane but it can crash really fast.
Absolutely love this plane. I’ve since then put it back together and have flown it manny more times. And crashed it manny more times as well. 🤦🏻♂️

I feel for you. Done the same not the other week.
I try to talk to myself when inverted “push to go up” repeatedly.

I kind of saw that coming. I've done that. Reminds me of my early flying days... not that i don't still do that on occasion. But i could tell that your aerobatic skills are not yet fine tuned and you were very lucky a few times when we're doing sharp turns and very quick manuevers. I could see that you saved it a few times wheen you got behind what it was doing.
A little more slowed, scale aerobatics and not whipping it around will keep you ahead of the plane and make for a longer lasting model. Don't do things just because you see others do them. You need s better feel for the plane first.
Otherwise... you're almost there... you're close. Just slow it up and smooth it out. Stay out in front of it.
I've buried 2 P-51's to date and rebuilt my first one multiple times now. That was my learning the hard way plane. And i still have that one.
Yeah I’ve learned a lot since. Gotten better. But you’re right. I do take a lot of risk but only because I want to get better. But ends up in the ground a lot because of it lol. Thank you for the advice. Always humble enough to listen to someone with more experience than me

It happens 🤷🏻♂️ it’s only going to make you better and more focused.. the trick I have learned when I fly inverted is to put your thumb behind the stick so you can only push up ..
That sounds like a good trick. And yes. It’s only made me better over time 😂

Yesss! 🙌🏼 and CA and activator. Typically glue back together in the field in 10 mins and keep flying 😂
That’s too bad, I feel your pain.😢 I’ve only tried flying inverted for very short periods and a quite a high altitude. I just don’t trust my brain and thumbs to fly upside down that low. Hope you get her fixed and back in the air soon!
Yeah it took me a long time to be able to get brave enough. I I’ve gotten better about it but it’s still scary. I did put it back together and have crashed it many more times. But she’s still flying beautifully.
Altitude is your friend. I also noticed your speed at times was just above stall speed. You have a fast warbird not a Cub. Fly it the way it was designed. 75% throttle or more unless landing. Keep at it!!! Happy Landings 😉🤙🤞
Yeah. I learned that it likes speed under the wing. But it’s so much fun to fly slow tho lol
@@Elircplanes The P-47 is great for that!!! It's elliptical wing design has lotsa lift; its much less twitchy while slow too.

I did. Many times. As a matter of fact. I took it out on Father’s Day with my kids and crashed it. Glued it at the field and crashed it again. So I’ll have to glue it again this week LOL

It does. I have glued it back together many times. Still flying great. And yes I do fly with all of them at the Hilton field. Kenny recorded my maiden video if you go check out the maiden on my videos😁

Very repairable, none the less, dumb thumbing 1into the ground blows but, such as the hobby goes. I buried the t-28 a few weeks ago from a full speed low pass to a snap roll to an inverted climb out, yeah I completely inverted it into hard pack brown grass and sand rather than the blue sky. Oh well, I say it's a very logical excuse to buy a new plane(even though I can fix it)
Yeah I’ve repeated this one a few times. And it’s still flirting great. But others I’ve made the decision to just buy the plan again🤷🏻♂️
