    The world is full of people who give up too easily....thank God for people like you who give it their all and then some. Thank YOU for being a positive example of strength and independence for all of humanity.

    Why do ppl have to put comments about this guy not being a quad? As a C6 quad of 32 years, u can tell by how he sits and moves ect that he is a quad. Just because like me, he has not given up, and found ways to be as independent as he can that does not mean he is not a quad. Unroll you've lived the life, don't make assumptio

    I have been driving a car since my injury at age 18, I'm 38 now but will probably get a van after I'm 45 or so just to make it easier on me. . Good luck.

    I have the normal down for gas, push for brake controls and a tri-pin on steering wheel. This car has electric seats. I now have same controls on my 2012 vw sportwagon but no power seats so I had my modification company add a spring to the seat base and a strap so I can pull the seat handle and move seat up or back, it working great.

    Here is the therafin board as a template therafin..com (2 HAND HOLES
    & NOTCHES- design.) But I like the ultraslik surface better on their board - I used the ultraslick board but had the board routed to match the cut outs of the therafin. Hope this helps.

    I'm using a tilite ZR chair with 26" (590) sprinergy everyday wheels, schwalbe marathon tires with Q-grip handrims and aluminum scissor locks. I modified the female socket for my wheelie bar to make it so I do not have to push the button snap to insert wheelie bar.

    I see the fin cut & understand.

    The cut outs on board hook on wheel/tire to keep the board from sliding out.

    The board, I cut out a notch on the sides that hook slightly on the tire so it hold the board in place while transferring. You can search therafin sliding boards.

  • @Rolling.in.paradisesales

    and consider d's locks, they are a game changer

    how can you say you're a quadriplegic? You have complete use of your hands and arms. That is not quadriplegic.

    • @he7is7at7hand
      @he7is7at7hand Před 7 lety

      Ger Der, no, it was a legitimate question. And he answered it below. Do you see he says he doesn't use his fingers. Well I have a brother-in-law whom I have been caregiver for off and on for the past four years. So I am far from ignorant. I wish my brother-in-law would have pushed himself more and learned to do more. He kind of gave up.

      I have a quad friend who did this for years before getting a van, they have no use of their fingers, but does not stop them from hooking objects with them, he's been in a chair for over 20 years, lives independent most of the time, has girlfriends he often hangs out with, cares for himself tho.
      I am a para, I prefer vans, not just because a wheelchair lift for entry, but the engine access, so I can do my own repairs to keep it on the road, I get out of my chair and crawl under it when necessary.
